Chapter 287: You’ve got some audacious ideas after seeing me create a hundred beautiful clones?

Enshrouded in a Ghost Energy, Callum closed in on Yao with lightning speed. His hands, dark as ink, unleashed a rapid succession of palm strikes.

Driven by his fury, Callum engaged his supernatural abilities; his speed was so astonishingly fast that even Ares couldn’t react in time.

Seventeen palms struck squarely against Yao’s chest, causing it to burst open.

With eyes bulging, Yao had never anticipated meeting his end in such a way. In his final moments, his gaze fixated in the direction of Dark Hell City.

"Despicable!" Callum snarled, grabbing Yao’s lifeless body and hurling it to the ground. He turned his icy gaze toward the remaining Ghost Imperial at Yao’s side.

"I—I agree with you! Alexander is a good man, an incredibly good man! Yao must’ve been speaking nonsense out of jealousy!" The Ghost Imperial hurriedly tried to distance himself from Yao, visibly shaken by Callum’s menacing look.

"Serves him right!" Ares, sneering at Yao’s corpse, seemed to be of the same opinion as Callum.

Meanwhile, Alexander swung his meteor hammer with wild abandon, leaving a trail of carnage in his wake. Gradually, the entire army of Endless Abyss began to tremble in fear.

They instinctively steered clear of Alexander, who stood like a massive boulder in a rushing river, splitting the current in two.

As war cries erupted from behind, all eyes shifted toward the rear of the Endless Abyss army. What followed left almost everyone utterly bewildered.

What had begun as a siege with their ten million-strong army being encircled by the Fierce Ghost Association’s six million had now inexplicably turned into a rout in their opponents’ favor.

"Yao is dead. All soldiers of the Endless Abyss, hear my command—those who surrender will be spared!" Alexander’s voice boomed, his eyes glittering and a smile curling up at the corners of his mouth.

With that declaration, he swung the mist chains in his hand with renewed vigor.

The arena once again expanded wildly, and under Alexander’s full force, it slammed into the ground like a mountain.

Boom!

A thunderous noise that seemed to split the heavens and the earth reverberated across the battlefield, silencing every soldier and pausing all ongoing actions.

"Ghost Emperor Yao is dead. All soldiers of the Endless Abyss, heed my words: those who surrender shall not be killed!" Alexander’s voice rang out again, rolling like thunder and intimidating the four corners of the earth.

Faces of the many Endless Abyss soldiers were filled with hesitation and confusion.

"What are you all waiting for?" At this moment, Ares and Callum leapt into the sky, flinging Yao’s corpse into the air as they bellowed,

"Yao is dead, and you are surrounded by our joint armies from three cities. Surrender quickly! Mr. Alexander is a man of integrity and selflessness; he asks for nothing in return. He has personally assured that you will be treated fairly if you lay down your weapons!"

"Integrity and selflessness? Indeed, one of our own!" From afar, in the direction of Dark Hell, Edward’s lips twitched vehemently.

"That’s right. If it wasn’t for a certain level of closeness, a renowned Inheritance Ghost Emperor like him would definitely not debase himself to say such things!"

Seeing Yao dead and themselves entrapped by the three-city army, the Endless Abyss troops finally lost the will to resist and dropped their weapons.

The forces from Nether World and Undead City retreated quickly, making sure to avoid any accidental engagements while taking prisoners. On the other hand, the Fierce Ghost Association swiftly moved forward to confiscate the Endless Abyss’ weapons and Ghost Treasures.

"Pay attention and clean the battlefield thoroughly. Make sure not to leave any ghost corpses behind," Alexander reminded from the rear. Though already well-practiced, he couldn’t help but reiterate.

After all, these were millions of soldier-level corpses; who knows, maybe he could discover a way to mass-produce Ghost Pills from these remains.

As for the Mist instance, Alexander had a bad premonition. If he were to venture into the Mist instance this time, it wouldn’t likely go smoothly.

"Dr. Charles! Long time no see!" No sooner had he finished his instructions than an enthusiastic Callum walked over, exclaiming,

"It’s just like you, Dr. Charles! Even when dealing with the corpses of enemies, you still offer them respect. Such magnanimity and selflessness are virtues we can hardly aspire to!"

"Ah? Magnanimity and selflessness?" Alexander was slightly taken aback, his face flushing a shade of red.

"You’re giving me too much credit. These bodies can’t just be left to rot in the wilderness. Ahem... giving them some kind of decent handling is the least we can do."

"You’re far too modest, Dr. Charles!" Callum’s face lit up with reverence, as though he had met his spiritual idol.

Ares nodded in agreement, adding, "There’s no questioning the character of Dr. Charles!"

Between the two of them, a volley of praises commenced. Even Alexander felt a touch embarrassed by the glowing commendations.

However, seeing the burgeoning goodwill in both men—reaching nearly eighty, he thought—he grew a bit concerned.

What if the truth caused a dramatic shift in their relationship?

"Alexander, make them one of us; otherwise, you won’t be able to bring this to a proper conclusion," Su Rong, who knew Alexander best, whispered in his ear.

A light sparked in Alexander’s eyes. Indeed, recruiting these two into his ranks would be a tremendous coup. After all, these were two Inheritance Ghost Emperors and they commanded two large ghost cities!

Yet, winning the loyalty of two such figures wouldn’t be a straightforward task.

Thinking quickly, Alexander initiated a casual conversation, "Wait a moment; I’d like to introduce you to some friends." With that, he activated his spatial abilities and teleported to the rear of the army.

Here, Blood Queen, Emperor Kui, and Blizzard didn’t press forward; the three women simply looked at each other, saying nothing.

In the case of any other women, such a silent triangle of extraordinary beauties would be unbearably awkward, even fraught with palpable tension.

But these three, clearly well-acquainted, shared an unspoken harmony and mutual understanding.

Alexander didn’t notice any of this; his gaze first landed on Emperor Kui.

The Blood Queen had been exceptionally obedient recently for reasons unknown, following Alexander’s instructions to the letter.

Blizzard, too, needed no further mention; from the start, she had made it clear she was under Alice’s orders, adopting a compliant attitude toward Alexander.

It was only Emperor Kui who remained a wild card—while she seemed unusually well-disposed toward him, they had interacted so little that Alexander couldn’t be sure she would agree to his request.

"What are you looking at me for?" Emperor Kui broke the silence with a teasing smile, "Don’t tell me you’ve got some audacious ideas after seeing me create a hundred beautiful clones?"

A hundred beautiful clones? Audacious ideas? Until Emperor Kui mentioned it, the thought hadn’t crossed Alexander’s mind.

But now that she had, he had to admit the notion was rather audacious—and not just audacious, but potentially a waste of time!
