As long as you have the courage, fierce ghosts go on maternity leave.

Chapter 181: General Henry, what a good man!

Chapter 181: General Henry, what a good man!

Outside an abandoned building, a group of chosen ones looked at each other in bewilderment.

They had all been assigned positions. Although the ones who were able to come to this instance might have been lacking in qualifications a bit, they were generally decent people at heart.

Those who had gone through a few instances, barely qualifying as veterans, had all been assigned positions, with the lowest rank being a platoon leader in charge of hundreds of ghost members.

But at this moment, none of their faces showed any signs of happiness. Or rather, the initial joy had worn off, and all that remained was confusion.

The one at the top of the ranking, 44011, was known to be the first to pass the SSS novice assessment and the first chosen one to reach an EX-level evaluation.

Not long ago, Alexander had cleared over seventy instances in a row, with the vast majority being SSS-level clears, and even a fair number of EX-level evaluations, stunning the world.

Many had speculated whether this chosen one with the number 44011 had incredibly good luck or had found a bug in the thrilling world. But now, the truth was laid bare!

Tommy DeVito, Honorary Chairman, Commander! The entire Fierce Ghost Association, with a million ghost members, was under his command. Did he even need to exploit any loopholes to cheat? An SSS-level evaluation was for him as simple as eating and drinking!

The most exaggerated part was that Tommy DeVito started with 200,000 contributions, instantly locking in the first place on the leaderboard! The gap was too large, so much so that besides being shocked, people didn’t even have the mind to doubt.

The world of a god is not something we can imagine!

What truly surprised everyone was the information about Henry and the others!

Many think tanks in the real world had analyzed the outcomes for people like Henry, and the best conclusion was that they would be penned up and used as labor, undoubtedly subjected to endless torment.

That was until two days before the start of the Fierce Ghost Street Grand Competition, when none of these high-ranking individuals from various national armies had returned to the real world.

A solemn memorial service was held for them, and everyone believed that they had perished in the Fierce Ghost Association, perhaps even tortured to death.

And now? Not only had none of them died, but they also had tens of thousands of contribution points and had made it onto the honor roll.

"Brother, let me ask you something!" Cain, unable to contain his curiosity, and now a person of some standing, grabbed a fierce ghost and asked, "Henry is the chosen one who came in not long ago, right? He’s really your instructor? These people must have been tortured by you, right?"

As it happened, the ghost that Cain had grabbed was one of the new recruits trained by Henry. Hearing the name "Henry," the ghost trembled in fear, shaking his head and waving his hands, vehemently denying,

"Don’t talk nonsense! Not me! I didn’t! I wouldn’t dare torture Instructor Henry. If he hears this, will I even be able to live? Even though you’re a deputy division commander, you shouldn’t harm people like this!"

Cain had seen this kind of fear in countless chosen ones when they faced fierce ghosts. "Is General Henry really that terrifying? He seems like a very kind old man!" Cain said, somewhat puzzled.

"Yes, yes!" the ghost nodded repeatedly, pulling up his sleeve to hide a charred scar from being whipped by an electrical wire, ’agreeing’ wholeheartedly: "He’s so ’kind’! General Henry taught us many things, and we’re all very grateful. At the end of the training, everyone was so ’moved’ that they couldn’t stop crying!"

Through his talent, Cain faintly sensed that the fierce ghost was lying. This expression was not one of being moved; it was clear terror, the fright of one who has survived a calamity.

The original inhabitants of the horrifying world, who often died because of various resentments, were notoriously bad-tempered and exceptionally stubborn. Without proper training, calling these ghosts "ruffians" would be a compliment.

Otherwise, Alexander wouldn’t have extracted many electrical wires from electric ghosts to make twenty thunder-whips.

To deal with such fierce ghosts and instill discipline, a more violent approach was absolutely necessary, especially at the beginning. They needed to be whipped almost to death until the ghosts trembled at the sight of the instructor. Only then did things begin to improve.

Moreover, these fierce ghosts didn’t need to sleep or eat. If they were tired, sleepy, or injured, they could recover instantly by using ghost energy.

So, in the minds of the over a million members of the Fierce Ghost Association, Henry and his kind were the real demons! And now Cain was asking him to speak ill of the demon; this was setting him up!

Sure enough, these chosen ones had all lost their conscience; no wonder they were made strategists!

As for Cain and the others, seeing the gratitude and tears in the eyes of these fierce ghosts, they also felt a sense of admiration. No wonder that kind and benevolent old man, even in this horrifying world, was still so loved and respected.

"General Henry, what a good man!"

Cain said, his face full of admiration, speaking sincerely to the chosen ones assigned to his area: "Look, General Henry is not only respected in the real world but also in this horrifying world. This kind and benevolent old man, with his high status yet gentle manners, is welcome everywhere. We must learn from General Henry and not let Tommy DeVito down!"

"Rest assured! We will certainly learn from Henry and contribute our strength to this battle, and not let Tommy DeVito down!"

"Cain, I completely agree with you. General Henry has always been a role model in my life. I will definitely be as kind as him!"

"That’s right, let’s learn from General Henry!"

...

The ghosts that had come along with them were all dumbfounded. One of them said fearfully, "Actually... you guys don’t have to learn from him!"

"How could we not?" Cain slapped him on the shoulder, scaring the ghost into trembling, and said firmly, "Even if you hadn’t mentioned it, we know that our status and treatment must have been brought to us by Tommy DeVito! We absolutely cannot let him down, and we must learn from General Henry as well!"

"Learn from General Henry!" All the chosen ones shouted in unison.

At this point, not only the nearby ghosts but also the members of the Fierce Ghost Association who had rushed over were all stunned.

Over a hundred chosen demonic individuals had arrived? Wasn’t this inviting disaster?

...

The Fierce Ghost Association was extremely busy preparing for battle, but on the other end of Fierce Ghost Street, the Evil Ghost Association’s base was filled with various banquets.

The president of the Evil Ghost Association, John Harington, was a man who loved to indulge in pleasures. His greatest wish in life was to engage in sexual relations with all the women in the world.

Unfortunately, his body did not have the strength to fulfill this desire. He died suddenly after a one-night stand with several beautiful neighbors. Since his life’s wish was unfulfilled, he became a Fierce-level ghost upon death and now has the rank of General.

"Lord Sam!" John Harington raised his glass and asked respectfully, "I hear that the Fierce Ghost Association is gathering forces to recruit those insects. Should we do the same?"

"Why should we be like them?" Sam squinted his eyes, appearing very confident, "They are weak; that’s why they value those insignificant forces. Our strength is enough to crush them. Trust me! Everything is under control, you understand?"

"Should we plan any tactics?" John Harington asked.

"Tactics? What use are they!" Sam shook his head without hesitation, "Tomorrow, our members will rush out and sweep everything aside. You understand? In the face of absolute power, tactics are just laughable tricks! Don’t worry; everything is under control! Trust me; there will be no problems!"

"That makes sense!" John Harington, looking at the extremely confident Sam and the two Prince-level ghosts beside him, also agreed with a nod.

Sam saw that John Harington was convinced, and a mysterious smile appeared on his face.

He stepped forward, patted him on the shoulder, and said, "Relax, everything is under control! Tomorrow, we’ll just rush out and follow my lead. There will be no mistakes!"

Unfortunately, John Harington did not see Sam’s face, or he would have realized that there was much hidden behind that smile.
