"Everyone, be careful." He warned as they completely left the forest and entered the city.
Before they could go far, both Ye Xuan and Chu Miao came to an abrupt stop.
Around them, the zombies had started to move. They were no longer like statues and were closing in on them.
The others sensed the movement as well and their senses sharpened and they entered high battle mode.
"Humans, you have guts." The voice sounded distorted but it was very clear. The words said could also be heard clearly.
The team looked in the direction the voice came from and we’re surprised to see a zombie with completely perfect skin with only some greyish walking from afar.
It was wearing clean clothes and if not for the slight stench of a corpse emanating from it and the red eyes, one could mistake it for a human survivor.
"Well, it looks like there are level six zombies already." Gu Fan muttered under his breath.
Zombies were classified from regular which don’t have any ability and are just mindless human eating monsters. They are slow with messy steps.
Then, there are level one zombies, which have the same characteristics as the regular zombies but are stronger.
The levels keep increasing depending on their strength. However, from level five, the zombies seem to have developed intelligence and even begun awakening memories of when they were alive.
Now that there were level six zombies that didn’t have rotting flesh and could even talk, things were escalating.
"What is your purpose for luring us here?" Ye Xuan stepped forward and asked. Facing the zombie without fear.
"Of course, to kill you."
The zombie’s voice was still distorted, but as it had come closer, it was clearer and felt as if for people less stronger, it would penetrate their minds.
The zombie was already attacking them without warning. It was launching sneak mental attacks on them.
"You seem quite confident. But if you dare to attack us, I will give the order and have those people you came to rescue killed immediately. I will have them turned into one of us." The zombie seemed to think it could use the people captured as leverage for something.
"Since you plan to kill us, we might just as well kill as many of you as we can then. What’s the use of talking to you here?" Chu Miao said with a stoic expression.
"The king has made it clear that we should lure you here and make sure you don’t return. Especially the girl and the tall man beside her. So, you will die here." The zombie said something that shocked everyone there.
"King?" They asked in unison.
They had known that the zombies had leaders, but they hadn’t expected for there to be one intelligent enough to organize zombies into a kingdom.
After all, a king needed a kingdom to rule. In that case, this king should be even stronger than the zombie before them and even more intelligent.
Moreover, it seemed that the king came from their country and saw Chu Miao and Ye Xuan as a threat to its rule, so it was strategizing to remove them so that it could weaken human power.
Things had indeed escalated beyond their imagination.
Chu Miao remembered the feeling of being watched she had felt many times before and finally knew who had been watching her.
