Apocalypse: Transmigrated General's Daughter Uses Space to Survive

Chapter 571: Dilemma

Chapter 571: Dilemma

"It might be the team moving it or something else doing it. Or maybe it’s just a trap. Look around us. Do you think this snow and ice is natural?" Chu Miao asked. Her eyes narrowed, looking thoughtful.

"You mean all this was planned? But how did they know we would come?" Pei Ming asked in confusion.

Indeed, how could the zombies have known that they would come?

"The advancement of zombies here seem to be more successful. They have learned to kidnap hostages and use them as bait. It looks like our sect’s plane was a victim of this strategy." Ye Xuan explained solemnly.

"But why target people from so far away?" Gu Fan asked in confusion.

"I think things aren’t as simple as we think. Let’s get moving. Move towards the target and let’s see what these zombies have in store for us." Chu Miao didn’t want to continue wasting time. So, she started walking immediately after saying that.

As cultivators, walking was not a big deal for them. One step would take them tens of meters forward.

So, even though the team looked like they were trekking slowly, they were actually moving incredibly fast.

In less than five minutes, they had covered over a hundred kilometers.

It is only because Chu Miao didn’t know the exact coordinates, otherwise she would have teleported there directly.

Li Kian looked at the way they were moving and couldn’t help asking, "Aren’t we at least going to hide our tracks? If we move so openly, won’t we alert the enemy earlier?"

With a shake of her head, Chu Miao looked around them before replying.

"There is no need for secrecy. We were spotted the moment we landed and our enemies are just treating us as prey they can hunt at any time. They are playing cat and mouse with us and if we start hiding to prevent being spotted, that would be exactly what they want. Since they are already watching, what’s there to hide?" Chu Miao spoke bluntly, causing Ye Xuan’s brothers and Li Kian to feel surprised.

They had thought that since they had landed the plane hundreds of kilometers away from the bait, they wouldn’t be discovered so easily.

However, "You are saying that from the moment we landed, the zombies had already spotted us?" Pei Ming asked in surprise.

"Of course, otherwise, why are there so many zombies in this forest and beyond? They have already sent the news of our arrival to the leaders wherever they are." Chu Miao explained quietly.

"What?"

"So, we were being so careful for nothing?" Gu Fan asked angrily.

"Not for nothing. Seeing those zombies standing around and not doing anything has already told us what we want to know. The leaders don’t want us to fight with these small fries. Which means we will face stronger zombies when we find our sect mates." Chu Miao explained patiently.

"So, we are like turtles in a jar?" Pei Ming’s analogy was spot on.

"Indeed, but we don’t have to worry. Whatever comes our way, we will face it together. Our sect’s motto is not to leave anyone behind. Since our sect mates are here, then we will bring them home." Chu Miao said confidently.

However, deep inside, she was worried. Worried that the zombies have already harmed them and only the tracker was still there to attract them here.

But she couldn’t back down. Not only was she the sect master and leader of their sect, she was also the person chosen by fate to end the apocalypse.

After another five minutes, scanning using divine sense showed the situation around them.

They were at the edge of the forest and beyond it was a city which surprised even Chu Miao.

This reminded her of those citizens built in ancient times to serve cultivators entering the famous beast forests to collect herbs and hunt demon beasts.

The only difference was that the current city in front of them was modern and resembled a normal city.

However, Chu Miao noticed that the number of zombies there was larger than in any other place she had seen.

The city seemed to lack any survivors and was completely occupied by zombies.

This was the first time Chu Miao was leaving the country since the apocalypse began and it was an eye opener.

To think that the cities in their country that still had millions of survivors were actually something akin to a legend was shocking.

But this also showed her that other countries might have ignored the warning their government had given them.

Before the apocalypse, General Chu gave a warning to the government and advised them to urge the people to stockpile food, water, and medicine. The government took his advice seriously although it sounded absurd.

However, the stockpiled supplies ended up saving many humans from starvation when the apocalypse started.

Also, after the apocalypse began, Grandpa Chu urged the military to encourage people to go out and kill zombies to gain combat skills and courage before the zombies grew stronger and overpowered them before they could adapt.

Unlike other governments that kept telling people that the zombie virus was a passing epidemic and they should stay inside their houses to avoid infection.

This resulted in the citizens of their country gaining skills to deal with zombies early on, thus, ensuring the survival of many.

In their country, even in remote villages, some survivors could still be found even now after the zombies had advanced.

Ever since City A was completely cleansed and all the zombies eliminated, it had revived and through different means, word spread about it being the first clean city in the world.

Many people had already gone there to seek refuge, registering themselves as citizens of City A.

With this first success, both Grandpa Chu and other people in government decided to cleanse the capital as well and make it the second cleanest city.

It was only because of the situation of the team in Russia disappearing that the plans were put on hold.

However, Chu Miao hadn’t expected the situation to be so bad. A city completely devoid of human survivors.
