After Rebirth, I Accept The Arranged Marriage

Chapter 203: Privacy

Chapter 203: Privacy

Jessie had been in a bit of a daze, but the instant Victor Morgan’s hand lifted the hem of her skirt, she abruptly snapped back to her senses.

"Don’t!" Jessie let out a shrill cry, looking up with pitiful eyes that glistened like freshly chilled black grapes.

The consequences of her passionate response last night were a sore back and aching muscles this morning.

But on the other hand, Jessie had to admit that last night’s experience had actually been quite good.

She was embarrassed, but she couldn’t deny it.

It was just that her body, having been pampered since birth, wasn’t quite up to the task, even if her spirit was willing.

When Victor Morgan heard Jessie’s words, his hand paused. Then, he reached over and flipped on the main light in the bedroom.

In an instant, Jessie’s vision was flooded with light.

"What are you doing?" she grumbled, momentarily blinded by the sudden brightness.

Victor took her hand and led her toward the bed. "Let me see."

After they finished last night, Victor had only had time for a quick check; he didn’t realize Jessie was uncomfortable.

Jessie’s face instantly flushed red. One hand tried to push Victor away while the other frantically tried to hold down her skirt. "I-I’m fine. What are you looking at...?"

"What if you’re hurt?" Victor didn’t back down.

He furrowed his brow. ’This is something that needs to be checked carefully, of course.’

Jessie couldn’t overpower him, so she finally, awkwardly, half-lay down.

Victor squatted down to check, his brow furrowed.

It wasn’t anything serious.

"How is it?" Jessie asked in a low voice, clutching the bedsheet.

Even though she’d been with Victor for so long, it didn’t mean she could be completely nonchalant about this kind of thing.

Victor stood up. "It shouldn’t be anything serious. I’ll put some ointment on for you after you get out of the shower."

Jessie: "..."

In the end, Victor didn’t do anything else that night. He just held Jessie and they slept soundly.

Jessie didn’t squirm in Victor’s arms. She felt a constant cool sensation that was rather uncomfortable.

Even though Victor hadn’t done anything more, his presence had been overwhelmingly strong when he was applying the ointment. She couldn’t ignore it even if she tried.

Feeling awkward and flustered, Jessie didn’t even know when she fell asleep.

「By the day they were to leave for the island, the scorching summer heat in Aethelburg had mostly subsided.」

The temperature on the island wasn’t too hot, either. Everything was just right.

When Jessie landed, she asked in surprise, "This island is yours?"

It was an island in the south and quite famous. Jessie had even gazed at it with Lynn Jennings from the island across the water.

If Victor hadn’t brought her here today, she never would have known.

Victor nodded.

"Have you been to the island next door?" Jessie asked with a smile.

The neighboring island was more famous than Victor’s private one because the former allowed tourists to land. However, the island they were on now, which was farther out at sea, had never been open to the public.

Victor was wearing a black athletic shorts-and-t-shirt set, which made him look less like the elite President Morgan and more like a young man.

Hearing Jessie’s words, he raised an eyebrow. "Mm, I’ve been. You like it?"

Jessie said, "As far as domestic islands go, the water around that one is really nice, perfect for snorkeling. Plus, there are a lot of water sports."

There was also a landing fee, which helped filter out some tourists, so it wasn’t too crowded.

"If you like it, I’ll have the island next door closed so you can have it all to yourself," Victor said.

The moment he said that, Jessie’s eyes went wide.

She pointed a finger toward the island whose silhouette was still visible in the distance. Then, her mouth fell open, and her finger moved to point back at Victor, her astonishment impossible to hide.

"Yours?"

Victor nodded.

"To be precise, these two connected islands were once called the Mother and Son Islands—one large, one small. Technically, they’re more like a family asset. After all, these two islands already belonged to the Morgan Group before I was even born. Later, when I was born, my grandfather put both islands under my name."

The larger island could be further developed to become a tourist attraction for this famous coastal city.

In fact, the island is now quite famous in the country. The glassy sea surrounding it is a rare sight here.

The smaller island has never been opened to the public. We only come here for vacation occasionally, and not even that often.

If it weren’t for Jessie looking a bit envious when she saw Brianna Hudson’s wedding venue, Victor would have almost completely forgotten about this island.

Jessie’s eyes were wide with shock.

"The last time Lynn and I went to the other island, we were just saying that if this smaller one were developed, it would definitely be better than its neighbor. It’s farther from the mainland and has no pollution around it, making it a great spot for diving and sea fishing." Jessie was filled with emotion. To think that, after all that, she’d ended up on this very island.

Victor watched Jessie, her mouth agape in astonishment, and found her incredibly cute. He couldn’t help but lower his head, cup her face in his hands, and kiss her.

"If you like them, they’re yours," Victor said.

He rarely came here anyway. If Jessie liked them, he would just put them in her name.

’His things were hers to begin with.’

Jessie thought for a moment. "No, thanks."

Victor raised an eyebrow.

"You’ve already arranged for so many people to maintain all these flowers and plants. That must be a huge expense! I don’t want it. You can pay for it all; I’ll just come here to have fun."

Jessie said this with righteous confidence. Of course Victor should be the one to handle the daily maintenance; she would just be the one to reap the rewards.

But to Victor’s ears, her words were exceptionally pleasing.

"Okay," Victor nodded.

He loved that Jessie didn’t stand on ceremony with him, that she was so brazenly confident.

A private island meant everything was very "private."

After all, there were hardly any people on the island.

Jessie changed into her swimsuit, grabbed a surfboard, and headed for the beach.
