Chapter 254 254: Spatial Collapse (End of Vol 3)

Chapter 254 254: Spatial Collapse (End of Vol 3)

As Uliis clashed with the Tyrant their domains clashed in increasingly aggressive ways, where first they openly fought, each respective domain trying to gain the upper hand over time it became clear that one of the combatants was coming out on top.

The solidity of Uliis earthen domain began to fracture as the overwhelming might of the spatial domain began to encroach.

As the mighty Minotaurs body was wounded the domain around him broke down, it was a slow and methodical shattering, his will deteriorating along with his body.

Thankfully he was not to be left fighting the tyrant alone.

Uliis desperately defended against the slashing claws of the monster before him, each strike felt like being struck by a mountain, even with his bolstered strength he was simply unable to match the might of this creature. He roared in defiance unwilling to allow this creature to defeat him, knowing that if he fell disaster would befall his city.

He chanced a quick glance to the other battles, Potelia was somehow holding her own against the tyrant, her overwhelming fire power enough to keep the creature on the defensive, yet he knew that she did not excel in prolonged fights and feared that she may run out of mana before the fight was over.

Next he noted the tell tale signs of shadows flickering around the tyrant that was engaged with Garthen. That reassured him somewhat, knowing that his friend would not be facing his tribulation alone.

That just left him, he who prided himself on being the physically strongest of the generals to find himself overwhelmed by a monsters raw strength. Yet, what could he do? This monster was just too strong, its magic's too powerful, Uliis did not know what he could do to turn this situation around.

Just as he was once more becoming overwhelmed by the ferocious assult of the Tyrant their was a sudden purple flash that for the briefest of moments seemed to overwhelm the domain of both himself and the tyrant.

Then a meter wide beam of utter nothingness punched into the side of the tyrant. Whilst the power was truly impressive, the durability of this monster was also unnaturally powerful.

One of its many arms had managed to get partially in the way of the attack, yet it could not block all of the damage as it was still mostly focused on Uliis. So it was that a good chunk of both flesh and arm simply ceased to exist when the beam of nothingness faded.

Uliis chanced a glance to the origin of the attack and opened his eyes wide in shock when he saw a gaggle of beaten and battered adventures wearily standing some distance away as they all stared at the monster that he was battling. A wide grin spread on Uliis face as he felt a faint flicker of hope.

Whilst he instantly noted at all of them were in tier 4, if he could keep the monsters attention whilst they all fought from a distance they might just have a chance to defeat this horror.

Violet gaped at the monster that had managed to withstand her dragon breath with nothing more than a flesh wound, still she did not allow that to stop her, a runic circle began to carve itself into reality above her as her conviction grew.

She understood that if they had any hopes of escaping this situation the sovereigns needed to survive, and currently this one before them looked to be loosing quite badly.

It only took a moment for the rest of the gathered adventures to also realise this and join Violet in her attack. A wide range of spells were cast, fire bolts, shadow spears, bolts of lightning and more rained down on the tyrant in a ruthless barrage.

Yet the monster was now aware of them and would not allow itself to be caught off guard again so easily.

A portal appeared before the incoming spells with the intent to redirect them, yet Uliis would not allow that to happen. His giant sword, wreathed in earthen power slashed straight through the portal shattering it and allowing the first barrage of attacks to land on the creature.

As it staggered back the giant sovereign punched forwards, swinging at the monster with ruthless force. Still even whilst taken off guard this was a tyrant, it woul not allow itself to be struck without recompense being paid.

The monster raised two hands to block the sword strike whilst another slashed through the air, 4 jagged spatial slashes rushed forwards towards the adventures. A bevy of defenses were instantly raised in response.

Masin took the front whilst Lavern and Olivia stood behind him, Lavern mostly leaning on the snow leapardkin for support. Their defensive skills intermixed to form a powerful defense, in front of them a dozen different skills rose up to aid in the defense.

Yet it was not enough. The spatial rends tore through the magical shields with laughable ease, only Violet's void shield caused them to falter, but only for the briefest of moments before that too shattered with the rest.

Masin and Olivia were thrown back when the rends hit their shields, injured but alive. Saddly Lavern was not so lucky, the already wounded mouskin poured his everything into defense, a powerful shell of magic enveloped his body the moment before the slashes reached him.

He managed to block the attacks, but it cost him his life to do so. His body fell to the ground in multiple pieces a moment later.

But they had survived a single strike, and it was now their turn to retaliate once again.

Violet's void cannon was ready, as was Val's ultimate attack, hundreds of shadow runes floating around her as they resonated with her power.

The world once more changed colour, this time a mix of purple and black as the two powerful spell casters unleashed their most powerful magics whilst being aided by everyone else.

Uliis naturally took note of the powerful spells coming towards the monster, he was determined to ensure that they all landed as he feared the consequence's if they were blocked.

He unleashed a ferocious assult, pouring his very life force into his attacks to ensure that the monster stayed entirely focused on him and him alone. The tyrant let loose a roar of frustration as it was forced to focus on the Minotaur, knowing that it would be unable to avoid the incoming spells.

The spells arrived with devastating force. Violet's void cannon had been overcharged past its limits, now almost 2 meters wide of utter nothingness flying towards the monster. Val's magics coalesced into hundreds of shadow spears that manifested around the giant, each one stabbing towards the tyrant with deadly intent.

The void cannon landed on the upper part of the monsters torso, managing to erase almost half of its neck and shoulders in a single go. The shadow spears in turn pierced every limb and body part that they could causing a shower of blood to spray it from the monster.

It staggered back from the cannon, only to find itself toppling over as a powerful slash from Uliis removed two of its legs in a single strike.

The tyrant knew that it was dying, it knew that it would be unable to survive with its current wounds even if it was left in peace. Knowing this the malignant creature raged, how dare such lesser creatures slay it? How dare they even attack it!?

Unacceptable.

Recompense must be had.

As the creature fell its gaze locked onto the small creatures that had caused its defeat, rage radiating from its visage.

Its mana surged and a portal appeared underneath its falling body that it swiftly fell through, it landed right between both the adventures and Uliis, equal distance from them all.

Its mana continued to surge, its very core overloading with spatial mana as it unleashed its everything. Presence, domain, mana and lifeforce. Everything condensed into its final attack.

Violet saw the creature fall, yet her instincts screamed in warning, she unheasitantly grabbed Luna and leapt to the side covering her companions body with her own as she erected the strongest shield that she could.

Then the world shattered.

The tyrant in its final act of vengeance opted for mutual destruction.

Its body erupted in chaotic spatial mana, reality was unable to withstand its force. Portals, rifts and tears appeared as space itself broke down in a chaotic explosion of terrifying might.

The domain of destruction instantly enveloped an area of 100 meters, all of the adventures and Uliis being within that area.

Violet felt an explosion of pain as she desperately held onto her companion with all of her might. She saw a flash of orange and blue light envelop them both before the world turned black.

Space remained fractured for several long moments. When the devastating final attack abated a scene of utter destruction was all that remained.

Dozens of dead adventures lay on the ground, yet not all were present. In particular a certain dragon and arctic leopard were nowhere to be seen.

**

Luna felt sharp stabs of pain radiate through both her own body and violets own as they were enveloped by the blinding lights of the explosion. She felt Violet fall unconscious, yet she remained lucid just enough to witness a colidascope of colours before she felt a bone rattling impact as they hit the ground.

When she opened her eyes she found herself looking up at a familiar sky, they had somehow found themselves up in the outside world. That was all that she saw before she too joined her companion in the sweet release of sleep.
