Chapter 626: Is He... Confessing?

Ji Weitian’s heartbeat skipped a half-beat, and for a moment, her mind was blank.

Although Qin Nanyu would occasionally say some rogueish things, he had never been so straightforward before.

So straightforward, it was as if he was confessing his feelings to her.

Her eyes widened as she looked at him, trying to read something from his face.

His expression was serious, his deep black pupils fixed on her, as if he was waiting for her response...

Nervously, she pursed her lips, wanting to say something when she heard his phone ring.

Qin Nanyu didn’t pay it any attention, his hand still wrapped around her waist.

Ji Weitian couldn’t help but remind him, "Your phone is ringing, aren’t you going to answer it?"

"..." Qin Nanyu caught the evasive light in her eyes, narrowed his, and did not answer the call until the ringtone stopped.

The two of them were like engaged in a silent standoff.

Ji Weitian shifted slightly, trying to push his arm away.

Qin Nanyu not only didn’t let go, but like a sullen child, wrapped his other arm around her waist and pulled her closer into his embrace.

Just as Ji Weitian was about to kick him, his phone rang again.

The clear ringtone echoed, over and over, as if there was some urgent matter.

Seeing that he was unmoved, Ji Weitian dropped the towel in her hand, reached into his pocket, and took out his phone for him.

On the screen, the assistant’s name was flashing.

"Should I answer it?" Ji Weitian asked, waving his phone in front of him.

"Kiss me, and I’ll answer it," Qin Nanyu’s thin lips parted slightly.

Ji Weitian almost smashed the phone into his face!

Yet, seeing his completely justified expression, she couldn’t bring herself to do it, as if she could hear him repeat that phrase: "It’s what’s kept in my heart."

Ji Weitian’s heart trembled slightly, her hand accidentally pressed the answer button, picking up the call for him.

Snapping back to reality, she quickly placed the phone to his ear.

Although Qin Nanyu was reluctant to have her divert the conversation with the call, he didn’t push her away, letting her hold the phone for him while he listened to the assistant report something.

After less than thirty seconds, Ji Weitian, standing in front of him, clearly noticed a change in his complexion.

While she was still puzzled about whether something had happened, Qin Nanyu had already let go of her, taken the phone himself, and turned to leave.

His steps were quick.

Ji Weitian had not anticipated that he would suddenly want to leave. She stood still for a few seconds before following him out of the bathroom.

Seeing him standing in front of the wardrobe getting ready to change clothes, she quickly asked, "Are you going out now? Has something happened?"

Qin Nanyu paused in the middle of tying his tie, glanced at her sideways, his eyes flickered, and suddenly he took a set of clothes out of the wardrobe for her to put on now.

"Come with me to the laboratory."

"Now?" Ji Weitian looked down at the clothes he had thrust into her hands, incredulously raising her head to look at him.

What time was it now, after working hours, and he was suddenly rushing to the lab - for what?

He hadn’t even wiped the turtle off his face.

"There’s no time to explain now, I’ll tell you on the way," Qin Nanyu finished speaking, had already changed his clothes in front of her, and was ready to change his pants.

Facing each other, Ji Weitian hurriedly ran into the bathroom with the clothes.

When she came out after changing, she also took the wet towel with her to help Qin Nanyu clean off the mischievous little turtle from his face.

She let him lead her out of the bedroom.

Walking into the living room, Ji Weitian suddenly remembered something and turned her head to glance at him, "Qin Nanyu, didn’t you say Yaoyao took the keys? How could you still open the door?"
