Addicted to My Cutie and Sweetie

Chapter 627: For You, I Can Learn

Chapter 627: For You, I Can Learn

Qin Nanyu’s hand holding the key suddenly tightened.

A flicker of guilt flashed through his onyx eyes.

He had been so eager to leave earlier that he had totally forgotten about this and had taken out the key he had hidden right in front of her.

Now, he was caught red-handed.

Others might have no choice but to admit it stiffly, but Qin Nanyu handed the key to Ji Weitian with an innocent expression: "I didn’t know. When I was coming out, I saw a key on the table, so I tried it and to my surprise, it actually worked."

Of course, Ji Weitian didn’t believe it. How could it be such a coincidence? She couldn’t find the key no matter how hard she tried, and as soon as he was ready to leave, the key just appeared in front of him.

Did he take her for a three-year-old child?

"Let’s go to the laboratory first. We’ll talk about the rest when we come back, okay?" Qin Nanyu’s thin lips parted slightly, his tone carrying a hint of coaxing.

Seeing that he seemed genuinely in a hurry, Ji Weitian pursed her lips and did not pursue the matter further.

Qin Nanyu took her hand, insisting on walking together.

Unable to break free, Ji Weitian could only speed up her steps to keep up with him as they both entered the elevator.

It was already evening, a bit late.

In the elevator, there were only the two of them.

The dim light added an eerie atmosphere as the overhead lamp flickered, prompting Ji Weitian to involuntarily recall some images and glance at the man beside her.

"Do you remember the first time you took me home?" she asked.

"What?" Caught off guard by her sudden conversation, Qin Nanyu was momentarily stunned.

Ji Weitian turned her head to look at him and spoke softly: "Back then, you told me a ghost story in the elevator."

Qin Nanyu: "..."

He realized that she was here to settle scores.

If time could be reversed and he knew one day he would place her on the very top of his heart, he would have been perfectly polite and charming from the first moment he saw her.

Qin Nanyu turned around, closing in slightly on her, and Ji Weitian backed away to avoid his touch, finding herself pressed against the elevator wall.

Looking up in confusion, she wondered what he was doing.

"I’m sorry," Qin Nanyu suddenly began with a sincere tone.

Ji Weitian: "..."

Why was he apologizing out of the blue?

"I’ve never... been in a relationship before, and I’ve never liked anyone, so I’m not very good at charming girls... But I can learn..." Qin Nanyu’s hands braced against the wall beside her, as if worried Ji Weitian wouldn’t listen to him until the end.

He stammered a bit, but it didn’t take much time.

A "ding" sounded as the elevator reached their floor.

The two inside didn’t move.

They simply watched the elevator doors open, then close again.

Having started the conversation, Qin Nanyu didn’t plan on giving her a chance to avoid it.

He felt he had shown enough patience and given her enough time to digest, but it seemed that Ji Weitian had never considered personal feelings...

In her heart, they were like parallel lines that could never possibly intersect.

Even if they did by chance create a crossing point, it would just be a wrong crossing, eventually parting ways.

But his thoughts were different.

He had never anticipated that someone would enter his life, causing him to fall so deeply without realizing it, unable to extricate himself.

Even considering all the potential misfortune he might face in the future because of his family, he still couldn’t bear to let go of her hand.

How does the saying go?

Having you for the rest of my life makes me look forward to it.
