Chapter 625: That’s What I Keep in My Heart
Qin Nanyu’s brows raised slightly as he turned to look at the mirror, and the next moment, he froze completely.
He stared incredulously at the green turtle that appeared on his face.
And it wasn’t just one...
The swelling-reducing lotion and cotton swabs, in Ji Weitian’s hands, had turned into paint and brush, his face, the canvas.
She handled it with great proficiency, sketching several turtles vividly.
"Does it look good? It’s a gift for you!" Ji Weitian caught sight of his gloomy face, seeming to feel as though she had finally gotten her revenge, smugly leaning in to ask him.
"..."
Qin Nanyu’s expression darkened, feeling for the first time that his retribution had arrived.
What goes around, comes around.
The person he liked couldn’t be hit or scolded, what could he do?
"Ji Weitian, you’re insulting me." Qin Nanyu’s usual tactic was to play pitiful.
But having used that too often, Ji Weitian no longer fell for it and stretched out her pale finger, deliberately poking his face, "Don’t talk nonsense, turtles are so cute, I’m complimenting you."
Qin Nanyu: "..."
He had never before realized that she could also be so articulate?
"The turtles you drew; you are responsible for helping me wash them off." Qin Nanyu grabbed her hand, demanding righteously.
Ji Weitian blinked, tilted her head, her voice soft as when Little Glutinous Rice Dumpling was being coquettish, "Aren’t the turtle babies cute? Why wash them off?"
"..."
Who could stand this?
Qin Nanyu felt all his blood rushing to his forehead!
Yet the instigator was laughing like a little fox, seeing him fuming and at a loss for words, she turned her head and was about to leave.
How could Qin Nanyu let her leave just like that? He grabbed her hand firmly, pulling her into his embrace, flipped over, and pinned her down.
He raised her arms above her head, fixing them on either side of his head, towering above her.
"Will you help me wash it off or not?"
"Let me get up first." The intimate posture made Ji Weitian somewhat uncomfortable, struggling to stand, but Qin Nanyu was not about to let her off easily.
He had indeed only wanted her to help him wash his face, but when he actually touched her, he realized he had overestimated his self-control.
His dark eyes fixed on her flushed face, his gaze unintentionally deepening...
The next second, she had kicked toward his stomach.
Qin Nanyu hadn’t expected her to strike so hard, and as he dodged to the side, she had already slipped away from him.
Unfortunately, the door was locked; even if she could run for a moment, she couldn’t escape forever.
Ji Weitian seemed to realize this as well, and knowing when to fold, she saw Qin Nanyu striding towards her and immediately softened, agreeing to help him clean his face.
Then she pulled him into the bathroom.
"Stand still, don’t wipe off the lotion. If you move and I touch the wounds on your face, you’re the unlucky one," Ji Weitian muttered while wiping the little turtles off his face with a wet towel.
There was a height difference between the two of them; Ji Weitian had to stand on tiptoes to reach his face.
The pose was hard to maintain for long, her hands and feet beginning to ache.
Just as she felt she could no longer stand, Qin Nanyu’s arms encircled her waist, and their gazes unintentionally met.
"See anything?" Qin Nanyu’s lips parted slightly.
As their eyes met, Ji Weitian saw only herself in his dark pupils...
Before she could even speak, Qin Nanyu softly parted his lips, "That’s what I keep in my heart."
