Chapter 939: Taken Away
Chapter 939: Taken Away
Abigail invited Jane to hang out today as their siblings’ bonding moment. Ethan and Mia were left in the mansion, playing with their two grandfathers– Mr. Hiroshi and Old Man Xu.
"Abi, how are your preparations for the upcoming wedding?" Jane asked her sister as they strolled through the mall.
"Everything is good, Sis. Dave has finalized our venue, and we’re done with the dress fitting. The invitations have also been sent out to our friends." Abigail couldn’t help but smile as she thought about her wedding to Dave.
"I’m happy for you, Abi," Jane said, gently squeezing her arm.
"How about you, Sis? Has Nathan proposed to you yet?" Abigail asked expectantly.
The smile on Jane’s face faded instantly. "No. I think... he doesn’t have any plans yet to propose a marriage to me. He never mentioned anything about our wedding."
Jane sounded a little bit upset.
"But it’s fine. I’m in no rush. Besides, I want to focus on our baby." Jane instinctively rubbed her belly.
Abigail let out a soft giggle. ’It looks like Nate is really preparing a big surprise for my sister. She is truly clueless about Nathan’s proposal. Everyone knows that he is going to propose soon.’
Abigail didn’t want to spoil Nathan’s surprise, so she didn’t press on this topic further.
"Sis, let’s go buy some items for your baby." She dragged Jane to the Infant and Kid Section.
Jane could only follow her from behind.
"Sis, the clothes are so cute. It’s unisex. Let’s buy them for Baby Bam-Bam," Abigail uttered in her elated voice.
Jane could only nod as she watched her sister pick up some baby clothes.
’Sis, if only you knew... There is Bam-Bam, a magical creature who once saved your life...’ Jane thought to herself as she was reminded of the soul swap.
’I really hope Bam-Bam still exists somewhere. If he’s ever reborn, I wish for him to become my son.’ Jane smiled, her palm gently rubbing her belly.
Jane and Abigail continued buying so many baby products.
"Sis, I also want to get pregnant," Abigail expressed her thoughts.
Jane gave her a teasing smile. "Then do it! Tell Dave to put more effort. Why don’t you go on a vacation first? Proceed with your Honeymoon already!"
Abigail blushed instantly upon hearing that. She chewed on her lower lip, trying to hide her embarrassment.
"Sis, Dave has been a little busy lately. He’s the one taking care of our wedding preparations, and he’s always tired when he gets home. He’s already filed for vacation leave from the police department."
A mischievous glint flickered in Jane’s eyes. "There is a solution for that. I am sure it will motivate Dave. Come!"
She quickly dragged her sister to the lingerie section.
"Seduce Dave by wearing a sexy nightdress tonight. I don’t think he will be able to resist you once you wear something like this!" Jane picked up a see-through lacy nightdress.
"He will surely be energized despite his exhaustion," she whispered teasingly.
Abigail giggled at her naughty suggestion.
"Why do I feel like you are an expert in seducing someone, Sis? Did you ever seduce Nathan?"
Jane bobbed her head.
"Yes, I did. I seduced him in order to survive," she said, looking at Abigail meaningfully.
’I even used your body, Sis, when I tried to seduce Nate. I’m sorry for that,’ she added in her thoughts, smiling sheepishly at Abigail.
Jane might have lost her memory about it, but her diary was living proof that those things happened and Bam-Bam exists in their lives.
"Who would have thought he was the love of your life? Your previous enemy turns out to be your lover. Very romantic," Abigail said, teasing her sister.
Jane let out a soft giggle. "Life is indeed full of surprises... and plot twists."
The sisters laughed together.
"Sis, wait for me here. I’m just gonna pay all these at the Cashier." Abigail pushed the cart to the counter.
As she watched her sister’s back, Jane suddenly felt dizzy. She quickly moved to the bench nearby to sit down. Maybe due to her pregnancy, she felt exhausted and weak.
Jane leaned back against the seat and closed her eyes, her vision growing hazy. She felt as if she were about to faint.
Abigail didn’t notice Jane because she was lining up at the cashier.
Feeling the discomfort, Jane failed to notice the figure who sat down next to her. She broke into cold sweats.
She attempted to call someone, picking up her phone. But before she could message someone, Jane lost her consciousness, dropping her phone on the floor.
The person next to her quickly caught her in his arms. Without further ado, he carried Jane, leaving the mall in a hurry.
By the time Abigail finished paying at the cashier, Jane was already gone.
"Eh? Where is my sister?" She pondered, looking around. "Did she get bored waiting for me?"
Abigail decided to call her. Jane’s phone kept ringing, but she wasn’t answering.
"Maybe she went to the restroom."
She waited for a few minutes before dialing her number again. It didn’t take long before the call got connected. However, Jane was not the person on the other line.
"Hello, Miss. This phone was surrendered here at the ’Lost and Found’ counter. Are you the owner of this phone? You can claim it here."
Hearing those words, Abigail started to feel anxious.
"No. It’s my sister’s phone!"
’Where is my sister? There is no way she will leave me behind and drop her phone. Did something bad happen?’
Abigail began asking the mall staff if they had seen her sister.
One employee recognized Jane through Abigail’s description.
"Oh, she might be the lady who was sitting on that bench earlier. But it seems she fainted, and someone took her away."
Abigail’s eyes widened in shock upon hearing that.
Filled with worry and concern, Abigail immediately called Dave.
"Dave! Help me! My sister suddenly disappeared! Someone took her away! What should I do?!"
Sensing the panic in her voice, Dave tried his best to calm her down. "I’m going there. Don’t panic. Just request the mall to check the CCTV recordings. I will also inform Nathan about this. We will definitely find her!"
After receiving Dave’s instructions, Abigail didn’t waste any time checking the CCTV recordings to trace her sister, Jane, and the person who took her away.
"Please, be safe! Sis."
The people in the Sparks Mansion also heard the news. Mr. Hiroshi quickly mobilized his men to search for Jane. Unfortunately, they couldn’t contact Nathan either.
