Chapter 1735 - 1732: Narrow Encounter (Part 1)

"Xiao Tian, you wealthy people really know how to enjoy life: ocean views, villas, and private swimming pools. Life’s comforts don’t get much better, right?" Lin Tian stood on the large viewing platform, spreading his arms to embrace the sea and feeling the sea breeze on his face.

Yun Xiaotian just smiled and shook his head, "The rich build these things, but hardly ever get to relax and enjoy them. Ask Sister Qing how many times she’s stayed here? It’s the ordinary folks who, when happy, can come to the island for a tour. We all envy each other anyway."

"Who cares about who’s envious of whom? Now that we’re here, how about jumping in for a swim?" Lin Tian waved his hand, inviting Xiao Manxuan and Yun Xiaotian to go swimming.

Xiao Manxuan immediately said with excitement, "Sure, since I learned to swim last time, I haven’t had a proper swim. I’ve heard swimming is a compulsory course at our school."

"Haha, swimming classes are a piece of cake. Xiao Tian, what about you? Come on, let’s go back and change into our swimsuits." Lin Tian laughed heartily and tried to drag him back to the room.

Yun Xiaotian, however, stood still with a hesitant look on his face, "Well... you two can swim without me."

"Come on, seriously? Who doesn’t swim at the beach? Are you going to spend the whole vacation just staring at the sea?" Lin Tian looked at him curiously, speechless. Logically speaking, families like the Yun Family, with private pools, should know how to swim from a young age.

Xiao Manxuan looked at Yun Xiaotian, puzzled. Yun Xiaotian felt awkward under her gaze and quickly explained, "Well... I’m hungry and afraid of getting cramps if I swim. Why don’t we go eat something first?"

Lin Tian and Xiao Manxuan both wore incredulous looks; this excuse seemed far-fetched. Yun Xiaotian nodded firmly, "Yes, I’m hungry. I heard there are many local specialties on this island, why don’t we eat first?"

"There’s good food? In that case, let’s eat first." As soon as she heard about the food, Xiao Manxuan immediately gave up on swimming, completely showing her foodie nature.

Lin Tian said helplessly, "Alright then, a two-to-one vote. Majority rules." He had no choice but to give up the idea of swimming in the ocean.

"Where’s the restaurant? Should we get Xiao Yang to guide us?" Xiao Manxuan eagerly asked, already picturing the mouthwatering array of foods.

"No need, I’ve been here before. I’ll be the guide for Brother Lin and Xiao Manxuan today." Yun Xiaotian expressed happily.

"That’s great!" Xiao Manxuan cheered, and then she ran downstairs ahead of them.

"Whew..." Yun Xiaotian let out a secret sigh of relief. Lin Tian glanced at him, puzzled about what was going on. But there wasn’t much time to think about it, as the little foodie was already urging them from downstairs. He had to follow her down.

With Yun Xiaotian leading the way, the three strolled along the paths of the villa. It was much quieter than the beach, with only occasional staff passing by to greet them.

Coastal Villa is a private property, not open to tourists. You can only enter with an invitation during events, so there are more staff than guests at the moment.

They soon reached the restaurant, which had distinct island characteristics. It wasn’t a standard building but shaped like a giant shell, with a central spherical structure resembling a pearl inside a shell.

Due to environmental preservation efforts on the island, coal isn’t burned here, and the electricity is self-sufficient, generated by wind, tides, and solar power.

"To protect the ocean from pollution, the entire villa, especially this restaurant, has its own purification system, circulates water for reuse, and minimizes waste. Sister Qing proposed all this. She said if luxury comes at the expense of the island’s environment, she’d rather close the villa." Yun Xiaotian explained.

"This seems to be the difference between an entrepreneur and an ordinary businessman. Both pursue profit, but entrepreneurs have a sense of social responsibility. Those who call themselves entrepreneurs while destroying the environment for profit are laughable."

Lin Tian gained more respect for Ou Qinglan. She was not only a business genius but also a conscientious entrepreneur.

The three walked into the restaurant. It was lunchtime, and a few people were having their meals—some guests like Lin Tian, even foreigners, but Lin Tian didn’t recognize anyone. They were probably there for the jewelry exhibition.

Although the villa is sizable, it can’t accommodate all guests. Only some special guests can stay there; others have to stay in hotels.

The shell-pearl restaurant also has private rooms, but because there were only three of them, Lin Tian didn’t want to waste one. Besides, the lobby’s decor was unique, and its view was more open.

After choosing their seats, a waiter handed them the menu. Xiao Manxuan’s eyes lit up at the sight of the specialty dishes, fitting the perfect profile of a foodie.

Of course, the little girl’s figure, which never seemed to gain weight no matter how much she ate, aroused envy among other foodies.

"Banana leaf smoked duck, seafood BBQ, Dayan Island special fruit salad, coconut pancakes, seaweed sundae..." Xiao Manxuan listed the dishes, making Lin Tian’s mouth water.

Most of the dishes were locally sourced, especially the seafood and fruits, which were abundant and fresh on the island.

"Lin Tian, what if I want to eat everything? Would it spoil my ladylike image?" Xiao Manxuan looked at Lin Tian, then glanced at the guests around, clearly concerned about her image.

Seriously? With your feisty personality, worrying about a ladylike image? You don’t worry about it when you’re letting the dog out or ordering Little Zi to bite people’s clothes. Lin Tian was speechless.

Of course, he didn’t say that. With a generous wave of his hand, he said, "Whatever the lady just said, bring one of each! Oh, and one coconut for each of us."

The waitress was stunned for a moment, then smiled at Xiao Manxuan and said, "Miss, your boyfriend really loves you. A boyfriend who isn’t afraid of his girlfriend eating too much truly loves."

Hearing the waitress refer to them as a couple made Xiao Manxuan’s cheeks flush red. She snuck a glance at Lin Tian. Seeing he didn’t explain otherwise, she felt a sense of joy.

Beside them, Yun Xiaotian had a peculiar expression, but Lin Tian didn’t think much of it. He assumed the guy felt like a third wheel.

The restaurant served the dishes quickly. Within minutes, the food they’d ordered filled the table though there were only three of them.

The three devoured the meal eagerly. While the little girl’s cooking skills had improved, they still couldn’t compare to the villa’s chef, and she was happily eating without a care for anything else. However, Yun Xiaotian was more refined than Xiao Manxuan.

Just as they were enjoying their meal, a man and a woman entered the restaurant. Because Lin Tian had chosen a seat with a great view, he recognized them at once. They turned out to be Zhou Botong and Ou Mengmeng, but their expressions weren’t right; they clearly looked angry.
