Chapter 1734 - 1731: Coastal Villa

The person who came to pick up Lin Tian was Secretary Xu Ying, whom he hadn’t seen for a long time. She was still in a fitted black suit, black stockings, tall with long legs, paired with black high heels, making average height men feel intimidated standing next to her.

Secretary Xu warmly smiled and said, "I just finished my work, and President Xiao had things to attend to, so I came to pick you up first."

"Go where? Where are we staying?" Lin Tian asked curiously.

Secretary Xu looked at Lin Tian and explained, "Of course, we’re crossing the sea, over the cross-sea bridge to Dayan Island. You’ll go straight to live in the villa there."

Lin Tian knew from the map given by Miss, that Coastal Villa is on Dayan Island, a vacation island which is in peak tourist season right now. However, Lin Tian didn’t know that the three of them would stay directly in the villa.

"Please wait a moment, I’ll go get the car." After explaining, Secretary Xu turned to the parking lot, and soon a business vehicle drove over.

The three of them got in the car, with Secretary Xu personally driving. The business car left the airport and headed towards the seaside. The cross-sea bridge is also one of Zhonghai City’s landmarks, with the bridge winding over the sea, spanning several tens of kilometers, and it’s very spectacular.

The car drove over the bridge, and the waves surged below, presenting a scene that embodies the greatness of human conquest over nature. After crossing the long cross-sea bridge, the car arrived on an island. At the island entrance, there was a huge Feng Shui stone inscribed with the words "Dayan Island."

Dayan Island is predominantly mountainous, with a mountain range running through it, higher in the east and lower in the west. The east side has mountains and slopes with resort hotels and viewing points built on it. The west side features wide beaches with fine white sand and clear blue water.

At a glance, besides the handsome men and pretty women, there are also men, women, elderly, and children, and the two most common plants on the island: palm trees and coconut trees.

Secretary Xu parked the car at the foot of the mountain, then the three of them climbed up stone stairs to a cluster of buildings. Nearby on the mountain were many resort hotels, but the one in front of them occupied the largest area and had the best location.

With the mountain behind, the beach in front, surrounded by southern forest and facing the northern sea, Lin Tian guessed this spot was the best location on the entire Dayan Island.

From a distance, the entrance to the building complex was marked by an archway, with a plaque hanging overhead, painted with four large characters: Coastal Villa.

"It really is called Coastal Villa, straightforward and easy to understand. I thought before that it was a villa by the shore with some other meaning." Lin Tian chuckled.

Secretary Xu also chuckled and said, "This villa is an asset of the Ou family, and the name was changed by Ou Qinglan. The original name was very complicated, I didn’t even remember it. It was apparently named by an old gentleman who taught in private schools and liked to use complicated words, hence the obscure name."

"However, Ou Qinglan didn’t like it, saying that using complicated words seemed petty, and that deliberately choosing such names was pretentious and very bad. She also mentioned that ancient poems and songs that have been passed down for centuries are not only known for their literary brilliance and profound meaning but also for the poets’ skill in using concise language to express beautiful ideas."

Secretary Xu introduced it in detail, and the few of them nodded repeatedly in agreement.

"’The swordsman kills within ten steps, yet does not leave a trace for a thousand miles. Finishing the affair, he brushes off the dust, hiding his name and identity.’ Li Bai used the simplest and most straightforward words to write the most classic Swordsman’s Walk. Ou Qinglan truly grasped its essence." Lin Tian praised slightly.

"Do you know how old Qin Lan was when she said these words?" Secretary Xu smiled slightly and, without waiting for guesses, continued, "Ten. Ou Qinglan said this when she was ten years old, and the elders in the family were quite shocked. Then, out of enthusiasm, they asked her to rename it. Ou Qinglan said that since the villa is by the sea, it should be called Coastal Villa, and that’s the story behind the name."

"In fact, Lin Hai has another meaning, a homophonic to forests by the sea. To the south is Lin Hai, and the elders were amazed by this name, so the villa was officially renamed." Secretary Xu smiled, obviously quite impressed by Ou Qinglan.

"Sister Qinglan is amazing, no wonder she can stand on equal footing with the older generation now; she has been a genius from a young age." Xiao Manxuan showed admiration, as exceptional women always appreciate each other.

"Miss Xu, you’re here?" A woman came out from the villa’s main entrance, dressed in a work uniform, obviously a staff member of the villa, since such a large establishment requires dedicated management.

"Xiao Yang, this is Lin Tian, Yun Xiaotian, and Xiao Manxuan. Arrange the best suite for them." Secretary Xu instructed.

"Okay, please follow me." Xiao Yang slightly turned sideways, gesturing for them to proceed.

As Lin Tian followed Xiao Yang inside, he noticed Secretary Xu staying behind and curiously asked, "Aren’t you coming in with us?"

"President Xiao has arranged other matters for me; settle in first." Secretary Xu smiled and explained.

"When is my sister coming? Will mom be here, too?" Xiao Manxuan asked expectantly.

"Chairman Xiao wasn’t certain, but President Xiao assured that she would reunite with the Second Miss during the Mid-Autumn Festival. That’s President Xiao’s promise, so please rest assured, Second Miss." Secretary Xu confirmed.

"Yay! I can see my sister." Xiao Manxuan cheered with excitement, causing Lin Tian’s heart to stir as he anticipated meeting the cold female CEO again; truth be told, he missed her a bit.

Having received the answer they wanted, the three of them followed Xiao Yang into the Coastal Villa, which drastically differed from the Yun family’s own environment filled with traditional buildings, bountiful flowers, thick trees, and clear springs.

Yet the Coastal Villa retained much of the island’s natural landscape, including rocks and plentiful palm and coconut trees, providing a unique seaside atmosphere different from the Yun family’s, with its own charm.

Xiao Yang led Lin Tian and the others towards the north, pointing to a three-story mobile building, "This is Coastal Villa’s villa. You can see the sea directly from the room, and there’s a swimming pool in front of the villa. If you find the pool too small, you can swim in the sea, but please mind your safety. Do you like this accommodation?"

"A seaside villa, of course I like it. Thank you, Sister Yang. We can settle in by ourselves now, you can go back to your work." Xiao Manxuan was very satisfied with their accommodations.

The sea breeze billowed, mixed with the unique scent of the ocean, and the sound of the sea in their ears, creating a leisurely atmosphere, illustrating why the wealthy favor sea-view villas. Xiao Yang nodded politely, handed the room card to the three, and then left.

"Let’s go, we’ll stay on the third floor where it’s highest, so we can see the furthest seas." Xiao Manxuan carried her small bag, happily running towards the villa.

The little girl naturally chose a room facing the sea, with Lin Tian and Yun Xiaotian occupying the rooms on either side of her, although all three rooms shared a common large observatory deck outside.

The deck was semi-outdoor, allowing a wide view of the sea, and directly below it was a deep-water swimming pool, where if the mood strikes, one could perform a fancy dive from the third floor.
