He had specially instructed the nutritionist to adjust the flavor to suit her taste. How come every day, asking her to drink something tailored to her preferences feels like torture to her?

Yan Fengchi roared up in his car, and as soon as it stopped, Luo Xi jumped out first. She noticed a lingering smell of gunpowder in the air and assumed there’d been a gunfight. The next second, she saw the yard filled with colorful ribbons and candy wrappers scattered everywhere.

Yan Fengchi grabbed her hand and strode into the house, spotting Chenxing and Gu Shaocheng cuddling and lovey-dovey together at first glance. He asked, "Bro, what’s going on? I’ve been asking around, and our troops didn’t mobilize at all."

"Most likely rerouted from Ottawa. It’s fine, already settled," Nan Baihao said while peeling candies and laughing as he headed outside. "Bro, I’m going to set up a few more checkpoints outside. If anyone dares to cause trouble again, straight to Jiangxin Island they go! How about three vehicles? Screw it, I’ll send six! Do they think I don’t have men around here?"

Gu Shaocheng raised a hand to gesture, "Keep it low-key!"

Chenxing pushed against the armrest and broke free from Gu Shaocheng’s embrace, excitedly announcing, "Cousin, I went for a scan today, and the doctor said I’m having twins—both boys!"

Her eyes and brows brimmed with joyful laughter.

Luo Xi fell silent for a moment, noticing a sharp gaze darting over. She glanced at Gu Shaocheng and then shifted her expression into a casual smile, saying nothing, appearing completely at ease.

Beside her, the bootlicking Yan Fengchi loudly congratulated, "Wow, little sister-in-law, you’re amazing!"

Chenxing felt dizzy with all the praise. "None of you are allowed to leave at noon—stay and have lunch together. Hehe, I’ll go tell the kitchen."

In the living room, Gu Shaocheng’s expression darkened because of a comment from Yan Fengchi. Yan said, "The Great Lai might genuinely care about Hua Hua and just didn’t want him to be bullied by you." This was immediately followed by Gu Shaocheng’s cold snort: "All those untrustworthy young punks! Just look at the garbage in his social circle!"

Luckily, he’d sent Hua Hua away! He would never allow Hua Hua to get involved with such a disgraceful group, to entangle himself with those shady people!

"Do you even know how Hua Hua is doing lately, bro? Haven’t you looked into it?" Yan Fengchi asked as he sat down, his tone tinged with concern.

Gu Shaocheng fell quiet and gazed at the ceiling for a long while.

Luo Xi quietly slipped into the kitchen and found her pregnant younger sister scurrying about, instructing the servants on lunch preparations. She pulled her out into the yard and whispered earnestly, "Tell me, what sort of gift is appropriate for a man’s mother’s birthday to make a good impression?"

"You mean Brother Fengchi’s mom?"

"Shh... Keep your voice down!" Luo Xi looked a bit flustered and heavily poked her in the waist. "Don’t let anyone overhear!"

"What’s there to hide about something like that?"

Luo Xi tilted her head, hemmed and hawed, and showed a conflicted expression. "I’ve never given gifts to that kind of wealthy lady before. I don’t know what to pick and worry about making a bad first impression with the wrong gift. So frustrating."
