The bodyguards grabbed candy, throwing it excitedly into the air. "Haha, take care!"

The Great Lai sat inside one of the cars, crushing a handful of candy until it became sticky and soft, leaving his hand covered in it. Frustrated, he dialed a number from inside the car and began venting furiously over the phone.

After ranting for a while, the companion next to him poked his shoulder. "Tell me, if you can’t stand Gu Shaocheng so much, why don’t you get your old man to step in? If he does, he could shake the Gu Family to its core!"

"Things have already escalated between me and my old man to the point where we’re like water and fire—no way he’s going to help me!" The Great Lai spat out another string of curses. If his old man found out he was causing chaos at the Gu Family for the sake of his "lifelong happiness," he’d probably cough up blood on the spot!
