Wedding Preparation
Jason remembered the soup and sent a message to Mary to prepare soup for Julia.
Later that evening when Henry came to pick up Mirenda, Jason decided to engage the two in a conversation. Julia was sleeping by then.
"With everything back, we have two huge companies to manage. Peter is managing Paradise Hotel but I need someone to manage the Haward company," Jason began.
"That is true. I will help you find someone good to do that. The person will report to you," Mirenda offered and Jason smiled.
"How about you Mirenda? You hold a certificate in business," Jason said with a smile and Mirenda's hand flew to her mouth stopping the surprised screams that wanted to come out.
"Yes, Mirenda. I believe you are the right fit for the position. Julia will be the head of the architecture department. That is her area of speciality," Jason said with a smile.
"Brother," Mirenda said not sure how to react. "Thank you," she said and got up from the chair and went to hug Jason and placed her head on his knee sitting on the carpet floor.
"Get up Mirenda, you deserve it," Jason said and helped her sit on the sofa next to him.
Mirenda immediately became tearer and Henry smiled.
"And someone said she wasn't a crying baby," Henry teased and Mirenda smiled amidst her tears.
They sat down for a while before leaving the apartment back home. Peter walked in looking exhausted a few minutes after Henry and Mirenda had left.
"How was work today," Jason asked as soon as Peter made his way to the living room.
"Good, lots of booking today," Peter said as he sat on the sofa opposite Jason.
"Great, good to hear the hotel is doing well," said Jason.
"I am exhausted. I will go take a shower and get some rest," Peter said and got up from the sofa.
"Sure, good night," replied Jason.
Jason also got up and left for the bedroom. Julia was already sleeping. He watched her sleeping face for a while before taking a shower and changing into something comfortable. He climbed into bed lying down next to Julia who had her back turned to him. Julia upon feeling his presence, turned and nestled into his arms. He kissed the top of her head and closed his eyes to sleep as he held her in his arms.
The next morning, Mr Wellington came to visit. Julia was getting ready to go with Jason to see Dr Andesh.
"Hello my daughter, how are you and how is my little angel?" greeted Mr Wellington with excitement.
"We are fine," Julia replied with a smile.Jason joined the two in the living room and hugged his father in greeting.
"Good morning son," said Mr Wellington.
"Good morning Dad," replied Jason.
"Congratulations to you two. I came to visit and see how you are doing," Mr Wellington said.
"Thank you, Dad," replied Julia.
"Thanks, Dad. We are going to see Dr Andesh, would you like to come along?" asked Jason.
"Of course, I would love to," Mr Wellington replied.
"Perfect," replied Jason and Peter also joined them.
"Good morning everyone and welcome Mr Wellington," Peter greeted.
"Sir, I am leaving for work now," Peter informed Jason and he acknowledged with a 'hmm'.
Julia took her breakfast with Jason feeding her. After breakfast, the trio left for Dr Andesh's Hospital as requested by Dr Andesh.
Back in Mirenda's and Henry's home, Mirenda was sitting behind her desk going through magazines and writing things in her diary. A smile crimps up on her face anytime she sees something she likes.
"Good morning babe," greeted Henry with a kiss.
He was fully dressed and ready for work
"Good morning, my love," responded Mirenda.
"What are you working on?" asked Henry seeing how busy she was.
"Jason and Julia's wedding," Mirenda replied with so much excitement.
"That is nice. Let's go through what you put together when I return from work," Henry said.
"Sure my love," she got up and kissed him in appreciation before Henry left for work.
Back in what used to be Jason's apartment, Fiona had just woken up from her sleep. She sat on the bed and stretched her arms, yawning alongside.
After staying behind bars for a while, her life was pretty much destroyed. She lost her job and James ensured her apartment was sold. She sat on the bed thinking of what to do. A knock on the door snapped her out of her thoughts. She responded and Veronica entered.
"Good morning Ms Fiona, breakfast is ready," she announced.
"Thank you," Fiona replied and was still sitting on the bed with her feet on the bedside carpet downcast.
Veronica watched her for a while and decided to find out if she was okay.
"Ms Fiona?" Veronica called out.
"Hmm," Fiona responded quickly lifting her head.
"Are you okay?" Veronica asked.
"I have to start all over but not sure where to start," Fiona expressed.
Veronica moved closer to her and placed a hand on her shoulder saying;
"Ms Julia gave you this place. Having a roof over your head now is already the first step. Speak to her, I am sure she will have some suggestions for you. Mr Haward is also a person with a good heart. Contrary to whatever everyone thinks of him, he has a pure heart. If you are honest he will help," Veronica suggested.
"Thank you," Fiona appreciated and Veronica left the room.
She knew Veronica was right, she needed to talk to someone but felt she could not just walk up to Jason or Julia so she decided to call Mirenda instead.
"Hi Mirenda," Fiona said.
"Hey, how are you doing?" Mirenda asked.
"I am good. Can we talk?" Fiona said sounding downcast.
"Sure, you want to come to my place or I should come to yours?" Mirenda asked.
"I will come to your place. Please share the address with me," replied Fiona.
"Good, I will need your help with something too," Mirenda said excitedly.
The call ended and Fiona took a shower, had her breakfast and headed for Mirenda's place.
"Welcome," greeted Mirenda as soon as she opened the door and saw Fiona.
"Thank you," Fiona replied and they both headed for the balcony.
On the balcony, Fiona shared her problems with Mirenda and she promised to help her get back on her feet.
"You will be fine, you will see," Mirenda assured and Fiona nodded.
"Now that you are here, from a girl to a girl, help me organize a wedding," said Mirenda.
"A wedding? For who?" Fiona asked but it suddenly dawned on her. "Wait! Julia's?" she asked.
Mirenda nodded with a smile and Fiona started smiling too. They both sat down and got to work, deciding on the venue and planning the guest list for Jason's approval.
"Everyone knows about this except Julia. It's Jason's gift to her," Mirenda informed Fiona.
"So no matter what you do, you can't tell her until D-Day," Mirenda warned and Fiona nodded in agreement.
They continue with their work, spending the whole day on it.
Jason and Julia were also done with the hospital and were on their way home. They drove past an ice cream shop and Julia requested an ice cream making Jason frown.
"Cravings started already?" Jason asked and Julia gave him a puppy eye making him smile.
"Turn around let's go to the ice cream shop," Jason ordered the guard.
They parked the car in front of the shop and Julia got down and went with the guard and Jason's credit card to get the ice cream she wanted. Jason sat in the car because he didn't bring any disguise and also not enough guards to stop media attention.
Julia went to the fridge and grabbed 4 cups of ice with different flavours but before she could leave she saw a familiar figure past her towards a place that looked like a storage room. She stretched her neck to have a look. She stared at the open door with storage written boldly at the top of it and wondered if her mind was playing tricks with her. She decided to satisfy her curiosity. She started walking towards the storage room but just a couple of steps away the guard called out to her,
"Ma'am, you need help with something?" the guard asked.
"Oh, no, I am fine," Julia said and abandoned her quest forgetting the ice cream she had picked on the small table next to the fridge.
"Ma'am, your ice cream," the guard said and picked up the basket.
"Oh, yeah," Julia said sounding troubled.
"Pregnant women are strange," thought the guards as they walked out of the shop after paying for the ice cream.
The person Julia had seen earlier stepped out of the storage room and moved closer to a window looking at the front of the store. The person peeped through the window with a frown looking at Julia getting into the car.
