Chapter 656: Assembly
Chapter 656: Assembly
After sending off Oliver and the guards, the suite returned to tranquility.
Four dark-silver space transport boxes stood silently in the center of the living room, emitting a restrained yet stable energy fluctuation.
With a thought, Duke’s figure disappeared from the suite and reappeared on the vast and vibrant land of the Light God Court.
He chose a corner far from the Spring of Life, where the terrain was flat and solid, and neatly placed the four transport boxes on the ground.
Here, they were absolutely safe and would not be disturbed by any external interference.
Duke also had the Storm Dragon Eagle, Dog-man Reed, and other slave creatures guard the perimeter.
Because now, with the rapid development of the Light God Court, many creatures similar to demons had emerged.
Although the area around the Spring of Life was a sacred and inviolable holy land for them, and they dared not approach it in the slightest.
Yet to prevent accidents, Duke arranged for slave creatures to guard near the Spring of Life, ensuring that the items he placed here, his laboratory, and the Spring of Life would not be affected or damaged by these creatures.
After completing these tasks, he returned to the hotel suite.
Next, it was time to officially launch the plan for the Dark Elf Plane.
He took out the small Star Dome Stone and injected a strand of Spiritual Power into it.
The faint star pattern engraved on the surface of the Star Dome Stone glowed slightly, and a clear, stable, metallic-neutral voice directly sounded in his consciousness: "Star Dome Commerce Association, Darkmoon Town Forward Command, please verify the identity of the communicator."
"Duke, newly appointed licensed Explorer." Duke sent a message of Spiritual Power.
"Identity verified, Mr. Duke. I am Keith, the logistics and reception director of Darkmoon Town. Deacon Oliver has informed us in advance. How may I assist you?" The response was swift and professional.
"I am preparing to depart for the Dark Elf Plane and need to handle the relevant procedures and understand the specific teleportation arrangements," Duke said succinctly.
"Understood. To enter the warzone, you must register and file at the Other Plane Warfare Office of the Imperial Army stationed in Goldflow City and obtain a temporary battlefield identification rune. I suggest you proceed there today; our commerce association has a permanent coordinator there to guide you.
Once the procedures are completed, please notify me, and I will arrange the next batch for directed teleportation to Darkmoon Town. The next batch teleportation is scheduled for seven days later, at the military teleportation fort on the outskirts," Keith fluently outlined the process.
"Alright, send me the address of the military office," Duke said.
"Information has been sent to your Star Dome Stone. I wish you smooth completion of the procedures."
After disconnecting the communication, a set of coordinate information and a simple image of a person appeared within the Star Dome Stone, indicating the permanent coordinator of the commerce association there.
Duke wasted no time, tidied up briefly, and left the hotel.
The Other Plane Warfare Office of the Imperial Army stationed in Goldflow City was located in the eastern part of the city, near the port and military barracks.
The building’s style was austere and square, dominated by gray-black tones, full of the solemnity of a military institution.
The flow of people entering and exiting was noticeably sparse, with most walking briskly and appearing stern.
Upon verifying the identity of the transgressor and the referral information from the Star Dome Commerce Association, Duke was allowed entry.
The hall was spacious but simply decorated, with officers in Imperial Army uniforms sitting behind several windows.
Following Keith’s information, he quickly found the commerce association’s coordinator, a sharp and capable-looking young man sitting in the lounge area with a mini rune recorder in front of him.
After confirming Duke’s identity, the coordinator skillfully guided him to the appropriate window and assisted him in filling out a series of forms, mainly regarding identity information, power profile, associated/cooperative forces, and a standard format "Voluntary Participation in Plane Warfare Risk Disclosure and Disclaimer."
The entire process was quite efficient; about an hour later, Duke obtained a temporary metallic battlefield identification tag with a number and a weak tracking function, along with a permit to use the military-designated Teleportation Array.
The coordinator quietly reminded, "Mr. Duke, be sure to carry the identification tag with you. It serves as proof of your identity and record of achievements in the warzone and determines whether you can receive the most basic military response when encountering trouble. Of course, more often, you’ll have to rely on yourself and the commerce association behind you."
After leaving the military office, Duke contacted Keith again to confirm the completion of the procedures and scheduled the teleportation for seven days later.
In the following days, Duke continued conducting the final inventory of supplies and tactical adjustments.
He sorted potions, scrolls, spare Magic Stones, and repair tools by category, placing them in the space ring for easy access.
He also repeatedly studied the intelligence, thoroughly memorizing the terrain around Shadow Song Canyon and known threat points.
Seven days later, at dawn.
Outside Goldflow City, the military teleportation fort.
This was a heavily guarded bastion-style structure, with patrols of magical energy watchtowers and hovering crystal sensors visible atop the high walls.
After presenting the permit and personal identification, Duke was allowed to enter the internal assembly area.
About twenty to thirty people had already gathered here, clearly divided into several small groups.
There was a sense of silence and subtle agitation in the air before battle. Duke glanced around and quickly located the Star Dome Commerce Association’s gathering point per Keith’s prior instructions, where five people were already waiting.
Including Duke, the Star Dome Commerce Association’s team to Darkmoon Town consisted of six people.
Among them, two individuals had a heavy and profound aura, subtly pressuring Duke, indicating they were Level 2 Mages.
One was an elderly man with gray-white hair and a stern face, wearing a brown robe inlaid with fine copper wires, holding a magic wand resembling a measuring rod, and with eagle-sharp eyes checking a multi-compartment metal toolbox, appearing to be a Wizard inclined towards Alchemy.
The other Level 2 Mage was a bald strong man with bronze-colored skin, wearing a black suit for easy movement. The bare arms bore complex magical tattoos, and he carried a heavy metal tower shield nearly as tall as himself, exuding a ferocious aura.
The other three were Level 1 Crystalized Mages. One was a Female Wizard with pointed ears suggesting elven blood, wearing tight leather armor and two short blades at her waist, her eyes lively as she constantly surveyed the surroundings and other groups.
Another was a pale young Warlock wearing glasses, holding a thick spellbook, muttering to himself and seeming slightly nervous.
The last was a middle-aged man, silent and wearing a gray cloak, holding a long object wrapped in cloth in his arms, obscuring what it specifically was.
