Chapter 886: Good Morning, Scarlett
Chapter 886: Good Morning, Scarlett
I had no idea what was going on inside, but the enticing aroma made Scarlett Yates’ stomach rumble with hunger.Scarlett’s expression changed, and she instinctively tried to hide.
At that moment, the kitchen door opened.
Scarlett was dumbfounded as she watched the person walk out of the kitchen.
The man had features as delicate as a painting, wore a cartoon apron, and carried a plate in each hand.
When she saw his face clearly, Scarlett froze instantly, her mouth slightly open, and after a while, she finally uttered, "Senior Brother Dales!"
Henry Dales turned around.
Seeing the woman slowly walk to him from behind the sofa, he quirked his lips into a slight smile, basking in the gentle morning sunlight, and said tenderly, "Good morning, Scarlett."
--
Ten minutes later, the two of them sat at the table laid with a sumptuous breakfast.
"Senior Brother Dales, did you make all this?" Scarlett looked at the golden fried eggs on the plate, her eyes filled with unreserved amazement.
Henry Dales and Matthew Saxon were both young masters born with a golden spoon.
But this pampered young master had managed to create such a delicious and varied breakfast. If he had learned to cook out of necessity in a foreign land, she remembered that when Rosie Wood went abroad, she took many people with her, including four maids and two chefs.
"Yes." Henry nodded, watching her with gentle eyes and a hint of expectancy, saying, "Try it."
If he told her that he learned to cook because of a dream related to her, would she believe it?
Scarlett was very hungry.
She hadn’t eaten anything since her coma, which lasted two days and nights.
She initially pretended to eat in small bites with restraint, but soon began to devour the food ravenously.
Perhaps she was just too hungry, or maybe Henry Dales’ culinary skills were truly remarkable, she found the food incredibly delicious; she felt she could eat everything on the table.
She ate too fast and ended up choking.
Henry gently patted her back, his voice soft in her ear, "Scarlett, slow down. If you like it, I’ll make more for you."
Watching her gobble up the food earlier, Henry felt an extraordinary sense of satisfaction.
This kind of satisfaction was completely different from what business achievements brought him.
The joy from closing a business deal would last just a minute.
But at this moment, simply watching her, he felt so happy, so content.
Scarlett choked so hard her face turned red, lowering her head, daring not to look at Henry.
She thought someone as elegant and noble as Henry might have been scared by her eating manner.
"You must be very hungry?" Henry’s deep, gentle voice carried no disdain as he handed her a glass of milk and said lightly, "You’ve been asleep for quite a while, you need to eat more to regain your strength. If my presence makes you uncomfortable, I can wait until you’ve finished eating before coming back."
Scarlett took a few sips of the milk, soothing her throat, and then raised her still slightly flushed face, "I don’t feel uncomfortable, don’t go, Senior Brother Dales."
Henry smiled, nodded, and sat back down, gracefully cutting the fried eggs and sandwich into pieces, then pushed the plate towards her, smiling, "I know you probably have many questions for me. Let’s eat first, and we can talk after."
Scarlett indeed had a lot of questions, but she also felt that the most important task at the moment was to fill her stomach.
