Chapter 130: From Village Girl to Queen, Bai Fu Who Fights as an Army of One!
At this moment, the gate from Zone C to Zone A was crowded with people.
Psionic Users, Mutants, elite soldiers, heavy weaponry… they formed three packed rows, completely blocking the path.
The moment Bai Fu walked to the gate, it suddenly opened automatically. When it rose halfway, the interception troops of the Truth Society simultaneously raised their weapons.
Just now, Benardo had issued a new command—
“No survivors. Upon sighting Bai Fu, Yulia, or Dr. Aid, engage immediately. No mercy!”
The interception troops executed Benardo’s order with precision.
Initially, many in the interception squad had underestimated Bai Fu. Sure, she was strong, but trapped in Zone C, how much trouble could she stir up?
But after discovering the gruesome corpse of Xu Zhihao, and the vast swathes of destruction around it, none of them dared to let their guard down anymore.
Xu Zhihao was one of the top combatants even in the entire Truth Society. Normally, two high-level Psionic Users wouldn’t even be able to kill him—being able to survive against him would already be impressive. Yet such a fierce fighter had been solo-killed by Bai Fu in a very short time, with no intact spot left on his body. Just how powerful was Bai Fu?
No one could imagine it.
Perhaps, Bai Fu was now on the same stage as the President of the Truth Society—the one hailed as the Martial God within the base!
Faced with such an opponent, there was only one thing the interception troops could do.
“Fire! Fire!”
Hot weapons were unleashed. All kinds of special bullets burst from barrels, merging into a storm-like barrage. Grenades and customized hand grenades followed in rapid succession.
In the first wave of assault, the interception squad unleashed every long-range offensive method they had. The resulting explosions, flashes, and smoke completely engulfed Bai Fu in a curtain of devastation.
Though the sturdy gate remained unharmed, the surrounding walls and ceiling collapsed under the onslaught.
Only after more than a full minute did the interception squad cease fire. The on-site commander, Psionic User Karse, stared hard at the ruins before him, murmuring,
“She should be dead now, right?”
Each Psionic User had their own way to resist hot weapons, but there were limits to all such methods. Once those limits were exceeded, tanking such an attack with flesh and blood alone was no easy feat.
Seconds later, the dust in the ruins fully cleared, and a figure came into the view of the interception squad.
It was Bai Fu.
She stood there, completely unscathed. She had only removed her white lab coat, revealing the combat suit she wore underneath.
“How is this possible?”
Everyone from the Truth Society, including Karse, widened their eyes as if they had seen a ghost. Their minds buzzed, frozen as though their systems had crashed, unable to process what their eyes were telling them.
Shock. Fear… all manner of negative emotions tangled together.
Bai Fu smiled.
The Truth Society’s attack had been fierce, but she was the superior one. A Psionic Shield with an HP value of 3000 wasn’t something that could be shredded so easily.
She strolled leisurely through the web of fire, walked to a safe point, calmly watched the Truth Society waste over a minute firing at thin air, then slowly returned to her original position.
Yes, she just wanted to scare them a little. And it worked beautifully.
As the Truth Society’s members quaked in terror, Bai Fu raised her right hand. Five Void Energy Orbs slowly rose like black moons. Beneath their glow, one Tiny Bai Fu after another poked their heads out from behind the rubble.
More people?
I’ve got plenty too.
Saturation attack?
I can do that too!
Almost as soon as the five black moons began their attack, the Tiny Bai Fus raised the Prayer Cards in their hands. They held 【Summon Ghost!】 and 【Penetrating Spear】—the former a “Grenade”, the latter a “Sniper Rifle”.
Fire! Fire, fire, fire!
The Tiny Bai Fu legion hurled their Prayer Cards. White light rained down like a waterfall, instantly engulfing the Truth Society’s interception troops.
The first to face the brunt was Karse, standing at the front. He dodged frantically, barely evading Bai Fu’s first counterattack. He survived, but those behind him weren’t so lucky.
Boom boom boom——
Light lances shot forth, shredding the multi-barrel heavy machine gun at the front. Ghost assaults blew fragile gunners into the air. Their bodies slammed into the ceiling, chests collapsed, waists snapped, blood splattering everywhere.
Explosions and screams intertwined. The air reeked of blood and gunpowder.
Karse’s eyes burned with fury. Among the fallen were card-playing buddies he’d just been chatting with. Now one lay on the ground, half his face completely gone.
“Kill her! If we don’t, we’re all going to die!”
Karse roared. Cold air swirled around his body—his Esper Power had been activated. Charging at the front, he led more than a dozen Psionic Users in an all-out assault on Bai Fu.
Bai Fu didn’t dodge at all. She stood in place, calmly healing injured Tiny Bai Fus with Psionic Energy and dispelling buffs from her enemies.
She remembered she was a “Mage”. Melee was only necessary when locked in life-or-death combat with strong foes.
The next second, the five Void Energy Orbs simultaneously switched targets. Caught off guard, Karse was struck squarely by five Psionic Beams, flung backward, toppling the Psionic Users behind him.
By the time he got back up, three seconds had passed. Extra-dimensional Erosion detonated violently, unleashing another storm that dealt area-wide damage.
Seizing this chaos, the Tiny Bai Fu legion launched another barrage of Penetrating Spears. Three consecutive shots hit the same spot, stacking fatal damage and clearing Karse’s HP Bar. As he fell to the ground, an expression of disbelief remained frozen on his face.
He never expected to fall so quickly—let alone die so fast.
【You have slain Truth Society high-level Psionic User Karse…】
The game prompt rang out, soon drowned by a string of kill and damage messages.
Bai Fu calmly commanded her Void Energy Orbs and the Tiny Bai Fu legion to advance. She alone formed an entire army. In the corridor between Zone C and Zone A, she engaged in a head-on firefight with the Truth Society, utterly decimating their interception troops, breaking their spirit.
“Support! We need backup!”
The interception troops frantically contacted the main surveillance room. The operators there urgently reached out to Benardo.
Still in the underground factory, Benardo was on the verge of panic. With Bai Fu’s firepower, who knew how much of the main base would remain intact once this battle was over.
“All high-level Psionic Users—form up and encircle her! Forget about those outside for now!”
“Call every Undying One in the base! Make them cannon fodder! If they can stall Bai Fu for even a second, it’s worth it!”
With the order given, all Truth Society faction Players in the base—except Tai’er Zhenren—received a new mission to stop Bai Fu’s advance.
“Silverwing?”
All other Players' gazes focused entirely on the Silverwing Assassin.
The Silverwing Assassin nodded forcefully. “It’s our turn to act!”
For liberation from suffering, for a better tomorrow, for love and justice—charge, damn it!
With the Silverwing Assassin in the lead, all the Players charged at Bai Fu. They were already prepared to die once, then revive at the respawn point and sneak back in to stir up trouble.
But when they saw the Void Energy Orbs floating behind Bai Fu like black moons, and the adorable yet ferocious “grenadier” Tiny Bai Fus, they all froze.
Holy crap, what kind of fighting style was this?
They had already seen many of Bai Fu’s combat videos in the Community, and were familiar with the Void Energy Orbs, Penetrating Spear, and Tiny Bai Fu, but this kind of combo attack was their first time witnessing.
It was too powerful—if Players could fight like this…
Some Players began livestreaming, others recorded videos. As the keywords “Truth Society,” “Bai Fu,” and “army of one” combined, they immediately captured the attention of countless Players.
【Damn, I thought Tiny Bai Fu was just a mascot—turns out it can be used like this?】
【I encountered a patrolling Tiny Bai Fu in Bai Fu Town the other day. I even thought of petting it—thank god I didn’t. It might’ve just speared me in the face!】
【Too strong! With Tiny Bai Fu, I don’t even need to throw the Prayer Cards myself. This is the Savior of the Clumsy-handed! I need to learn this skill!】
【Big Fu-fu’s good. Little Fu-fu’s good. Big Fu-fu + Little Fu-fu = doubly good!】
【So badass. Don’t you think Bai Fu commanding a legion of Tiny Bai Fus gives her the air of a queen? This is just 30 Tiny Bai Fus—what if there were 30,000, or 300,000? I can’t even imagine how blood-pumping that scene would be.】
【The falling leaves carry a message—from our birthplace, Origin Star, Bai Fu has ascended as queen. Everyone’s saying this is an era filled with Fu-fus.】
Players in the Livestream Room watched with shining eyes. Some were drooling over the strength of the Psionic Illustrator’s summoning build, some were obsessed with Bai Fu herself, and the more perverse were lusting after Tiny Bai Fu.
Everyone was extremely excited. Most Players were going wild in the Livestream, while others had already run to the Community to post.
In the posts, they detailed Bai Fu’s full journey—from a “village girl” at the Abandoned Cooling Plant to a queen who stood unchallenged at the heart of the Truth Society’s main base—and went on to wildly speculate on how the storyline would unfold once the Truth Society was destroyed.
Various experts appeared in the thread to share their insights. The hype even surpassed that of the war between the Five Major Factions and the Truth Society.
【Hey hey hey, all of you are stealing my thunder!!!】
The Excavation‑Princess, who had accidentally clicked into the thread, nearly fainted from rage. Her spotlight had been stolen. Helpless, she could only obediently follow Su Li, who had taken over temporary command of the Garden of Silence, to see if she could glean any valuable intelligence from the war against the Truth Society.
The Silverwing Assassin’s livestream lasted just over six minutes. Under constant urging from the Truth Society, they reluctantly went forward and donated themselves.
…
“At least we bought some time.”
Receiving the news from the main surveillance room, Benardo let out a breath of relief. He had already released all the Beast-mutated Mutants in the underground factory—now it was time to repay Bai Fu with blood!
He began herding the Beast-mutated Mutants into the elevator. The elevator ascended rapidly, but halfway up, it suddenly jolted twice, then stopped.
“What’s going on?”
Benardo’s face changed dramatically.
He suddenly realized—the power was out. Someone had cut the supply. The elevator’s power supply was separate from the others, so if even that was shut off, it meant the main power room had been attacked. Except for a few independently powered zones, everywhere else would be powerless.
“Who did this?”
Benardo’s fury surged.
He was now in the elevator shaft. He could climb out himself—but what about the Beast-mutated Mutants?
These Mutants could only understand very basic commands. Since they were released in a rush, a small mishap could lead to them going berserk.
Originally, he had wanted to trap Bai Fu in with these Beast-mutated Mutants and let them tear each other apart. But now? He was the one trapped with them.
Benardo turned around and saw a few Beast-mutated Mutants already growing restless.
Damn it.
He quickly climbed out from the top of the elevator. At this point, the only plan was to break the wall from the outside, let the Mutants out one by one, and somehow herd them toward Bai Fu.
“Start the backup power—hurry!”
…
Truth Society Main Base, Zone A, Main Power Room.
The Psionic User guarding the entrance had a darkened expression. He had been standing watch when several Undying Ones came running up, saying Minister Benardo had something urgent to tell him. For some reason—maybe poor signal—he couldn’t get through, so he believed them and walked to an open area to pull out his terminal.
At that moment, the Undying Ones rushed into the Main Power Room. A series of explosions followed, and the room was blown apart. Instantly, everything around him was swallowed by hopeless darkness.
How could he not despair?
With external enemies invading, and a sudden power outage at this moment, the already dire situation had just gotten worse.
It’s over. It’s all over!
The Psionic User was on the verge of collapse. Failing to guard the Main Power Room—such a critical blunder was as good as a death sentence.
“Arghhh! You Undying Ones deserve to be torn apart! You’re not even human—I’ll kill you! I’ll kill every last one of you!”
After a few furious roars, he grabbed his weapon and charged madly down the pitch-black corridor.
No one knew how long he ran. Suddenly, a few white beams pierced through the darkness and his body. He collapsed, howling in pain. One second later, several black beams followed, finishing him off.
“What’s with this guy?”
Bai Fu emerged slowly from the darkness, staring at the corpse in confusion.
Why was he suddenly cursing at the Players? Could it be that those outside had already broken through the Truth Society’s defenses?
Bai Fu shook her head.
Regardless, the sudden blackout in the Truth Society’s main base was a good thing for her. It would be easier to cause chaos in the dark.
While she continued advancing with the Void Energy Orbs and Tiny Bai Fus drawing enemy attention, she herself slipped into a side passage.
She used the Void Energy Orbs and Tiny Bai Fus to keep the Psionic Users of the Truth Society occupied while she stealthily made her way toward the main surveillance room. Even if the summoned orbs and Tiny Bai Fus were destroyed en route, it didn’t matter—she had stockpiled a huge number of Prayer Cards for this operation. She could summon an equal number of reinforcements at any moment to keep up the illusion that the Truth Society’s base had been infiltrated from all directions.
And it worked beautifully.
With True Spirits summoned and wreaking havoc everywhere, the Truth Society could no longer tell how many enemies were inside the base.
While their attention was fully diverted to Zone A, Hei Fu, who had remained in Zone C, made her move—dragging Dr. Aid along, she launched a sweeping purge.
From the Medical Laboratory to the Psionic Research Institute, from the Mainframe Room to the Power Room, from Zone C to Zone B—Hei Fu fully embraced the spirit of "Stealing the Light". If data or documents could be directly read through the Player panel, she read them; if not, she simply carried the equipment away.
Hei Fu didn’t expect to be able to move all the equipment out in one go. For now, she merely stashed them in a rarely visited room.
Dr. Aid and Yulia were dumbfounded.
“What are you doing?”
“Making money. Money’s needed to support a family.”
Hei Fu was stealing with increasing enthusiasm, wishing she could magically summon an auto-loot aura. She could already picture herself getting rich off the stolen gear.
【Reborn Among the Stars, Became the Richest on Origin Star in Just One Year, All Because I’m the ‘Empress of Light Theft’!】
After stealing for a full hour, Hei Fu finally stopped. It wasn’t that she had really stolen everything from the Truth Society—rather, she happened to spot Benardo herding Beast-mutated Mutants.
“What a shame, I have to stop. If those Beast-mutated Mutants discover me, it’ll be a problem.”
With some regret, Hei Fu looked down at the message Su Li had just sent.
The Railway Guild, the Human Alliance, and the Old Republic had assembled their elite forces and were rapidly approaching the Truth Society's main base. But “rapidly” still meant it would take some time.
Hei Fu was about to leave when Dr. Aid suddenly crushed a badge hidden in his pocket. This wasn’t an ordinary badge, but a special one imbued with a single-use mental shock.
“Benardo, save me!”
He shouted and dashed frantically toward Benardo.
Using the mental shock to buy himself a chance to escape—Dr. Aid thought his plan was perfect. But he had overlooked one thing: Hei Fu wasn’t human. She was a True Spirit summoned by Bai Fu, brainless and fully remote-controlled through Bai Fu’s innate abilities—completely immune to ordinary mental attacks.
Trying to run?
A cold glint flashed in her eyes. While using 【Invigorated Mind】 dropped by Xu Zhihao to block a skill aimed at Yulia, Hei Fu activated Battle Etiquette on Dr. Aid.
A strange force acted on his body, and Dr. Aid realized in terror that he couldn’t move his legs.
“You...”
A chill ran down his spine as a hand gripped his neck.
“Seems like you think your life is too long.”
“No, I...”
Dr. Aid trembled all over, unsure how to explain. He could only plead silently with his eyes, hoping Benardo would rescue him. If Benardo came at full force, he might still have a chance—after all, Hei Fu was also burdened with Yulia.
But Benardo’s response plunged him into despair.
“Kill them both.”
Though uncertain why Bai Fu had suddenly appeared in Zone C, Benardo still gave the kill order to the Beast-mutated Mutants around him.
Dr. Aid screamed in panic. “Benardo, you’re going to kill even me? Without me, the potential serum would’ve never been developed so quickly! Yulia’s ability wouldn’t have been cracked!”
Benardo’s expression was ice-cold, unmoved.
The situation was falling apart, and the Truth Society was in decline. He didn’t want to waste another moment—he just wanted Bai Fu dead, even if it meant Dr. Aid had to die too.
Realizing there was no hope of rescue from that side, Dr. Aid turned to plead with Hei Fu.
“Don’t kill me. I’ll trade you the Chairman’s secret—it concerns your very survival.”
Hei Fu hesitated for a moment, but just as the Beast-mutated Mutants charged in, she cast a Psionic Shelter on Dr. Aid.
She pulled out a stack of cards. While dispelling Bai Fu’s Void Energy Orbs, she summoned new ones on her side to block the Mutants.
“What secret?”
Hei Fu tapped the ground with her toe, using the force to leap back.
Dr. Aid said urgently, “The Chairman has mastered a method to duplicate Yulia’s avatar. His grasp is incomplete—he can only create one—but he’s placed this duplicate in the base. That means he can abandon his body at the Gene Prototype site and return here anytime he wants. He’s strong—unbelievably strong. Even several Xu Zhihaos combined couldn’t beat him. If you don’t want to die, you better find a way to escape now!”
Upon hearing this, both Hei Fu and Bai Fu’s expressions turned grim.
In truth, the Truth Society Chairman’s total level wasn’t currently higher than hers, but total level wasn’t the only measure of an NPC’s strength.
Based on what the Truth Society members had said, the Chairman was likely an Artificial Human, and from the game’s classification of his role, he was probably a “monster” with few classes but extreme race and template bonuses.
“He’s currently attacking the Gene Prototype. Unless he’s willing to accept the failure of this operation, he won’t be back soon. But if he gets truly enraged and decides to abandon the mission just to kill me, then...”
Bai Fu was fully aware of how much destruction she had caused in the Truth Society’s main base—and how infuriating she had been.
Now, all she could do was hope that the Gene Prototype, the Railway Guild, and the Players she had sent could stall the Truth Society Chairman long enough. Otherwise, she’d be in deep danger.
“You can walk, right?”
Hei Fu looked down at Yulia cradled in her arms.
Yulia nodded. “I can, but I can’t move fast.”
“That’s enough.” Hei Fu set her down and stuffed a handful of Prayer Cards into her hands. “The usage is written on the cards. I’ll have Tiny Bai Fus escort you. While I distract Benardo and the Beast-mutated Mutants, you run and find a safe place to hide. Once I’ve taken care of things here, I’ll come find you!”
Looking at the solemn Hei Fu, Yulia was briefly stunned.
“Our deal... and your relationship with Uncle Niesen... shouldn’t be enough for you to go this far for me, right?”
She couldn’t understand it.
Before their deal, she had fought Bai Fu twice. The first time, she had even tried to kill her. It was hard to imagine Bai Fu going to such lengths for her.
To infiltrate the Truth Society alone—it was unimaginable. Was she trying to get something from her? No... it didn’t warrant this much effort.
If only she knew Bai Fu had taken a quest, she wouldn’t be confused. But she didn’t know. So when Hei Fu gave her a shove, pushing her away, a strange thought emerged in her mind—
Could it be that Bai Fu had special feelings for me?
