After the Character Profile corrections were completed, the enhancement prompts Bai Fu had been anticipating finally popped up.
Last time she had received a total of nine corrections. This time, it exceeded even that—ten corrections in total.
“The more Plot Exploration you unlock, the more enhancements you receive. Of course, quantity doesn’t necessarily mean quality, so I’ll have to take a closer look.”
Bai Fu was in an excellent mood.
She liked this kind of system. The way enhancements were acquired was similar to doing a Hidden Quest, and the enhancement rewards were closely tied to her current condition and the impression she left on the outside world. The only troublesome part was that the rewards could only be received at the end of a version update, during server downtime.
She casually clicked on the first prompt.

But she had to admit, it was a useful one. Development of Psionic Class jobs was based on both the class itself and the attribute. Different Psionic attributes had different effects.
Since the official site had released very little information, Bai Fu could only deduce through her own skill, Dark Burn. The Dark attribute seemed to specialize in applying all kinds of debuffs when attacking opponents.
“Collect more Psionic Knowledge to unlock the Psionic attribute... looks like I have to put in some serious effort now.”

The resulting Exclusive Talent, Extraordinary Traits (Bai Fu), brought a massive upgrade.

Forget about the rest—just that +10% Max HP was already a huge boost for someone like Bai Fu, whose HP Bar was already outrageously thick.
“No wonder it’s an exclusive talent—it’s way stronger than regular ones!”
Bai Fu could clearly feel her body becoming sturdier. That’s what happened when your HP Bar got longer and your durability went up.
She cheerfully clicked on the third prompt.

This correction immediately caught Bai Fu’s attention.
Super Burst was a burst-type skill she had wrangled out of Little Yulia when they first met.
Back then, the skill’s effect was pretty fierce—+7 Strength, +7 Agility, +5 Spirit—but now that her level and Stats had skyrocketed, that temporary boost didn’t feel worth the cost anymore.

The boost wasn’t particularly high, but it was still useful in a desperate moment. Especially the Agility increase—combined with Hei Fu, Overflowing Radiance, her combat suit, and this skill, she could forcibly raise her Agility from 45 all the way up to 94 in a short burst. That was enough to keep up with top-tier Martial Artists.
Tanky, high-damage, and fast as hell—jumping, dodging, combo-attacking like crazy. Guys, who gets how absurd this BOSS is?
Bai Fu was just glad she was the BOSS. If she ran into this kind of BOSS while just walking around in-game, she’d curse out the Developers on the spot.
“Negative review, this has to be a negative review! What, you think I’m Dante or something?”

This correction was pretty standard—didn’t affect her much directly.
But for Players on the opposing side, it made a big difference. After this change, any future quests they received involving her would definitely give better Quest Rewards than before.
All she could say was: a World BOSS deserved World BOSS treatment!
Bai Fu glanced over the next few corrections—they were all related to Garden of Silence.

“A new feature tied to the updated version’s Challenge Instances?”
Bai Fu tapped for the detailed description. One look, and her heart skipped a beat.
Holy crap—she hadn’t realized until now just how much more impactful this was than her exclusive talents or skills.
The Challenge Instances feature allowed her to create Garden of Silence-exclusive instances that only Players from that faction could challenge.
The number of instances she could create, their difficulty, and the reward tiers were all tied to the Faction’s overall Reputation. Currently, Garden of Silence had a Reputation of 2100 (Rising Fame) on Origin Star, so she could only create one instance. Once Reputation reached 3000, she could make another, stronger instance.
“This’ll definitely attract more Players to join Garden of Silence!”
But the benefits didn’t stop there. What really drew Bai Fu in was a special function of Challenge Instances—
Pre-Battle Loadout!
Before entering the instance, Players got a prep phase where they could freely swap in the equipment and items they wanted to bring, and also shop at the instance’s own store for gear, items, Skills, Profession Knowledge Books, and more to boost their power.
Naturally, shopping required money. But Bai Fu had authority to configure what kind of currency was used.
She could choose the currency type. And if Players were buying “virtual” items—like Skills, Profession Knowledge Books, Knowledge Chains, or Blueprints that she personally had access to—she could even set the price to be paid in XP.
This perk couldn’t have come at a better time for Bai Fu, who desperately needed XP.
She had quite a few great basic resources at her disposal—for instance, Flowing Light, Overflowing Radiance, and Moon Veil, which were god-tier for low-level Body Strengthening builds; and Fanaticism, Psionic Perception, and Dispel, essential for Psionic support builds.
“Teaching Players Skills and Profession Knowledge, and profiting from it—guys, this is the most on-brand moment for a Mentor-type character ever!”
Bai Fu excitedly moved on to the remaining five corrections.

These five corrections were all Role-based updates. They didn’t directly buff Old Nissen or Anya, nor did they give Garden of Silence any stat boosts—but they were necessary. Titles mattered—a lot. Both the game and the Players valued lore accuracy.
Take herself as an example: if the game had designated her the Version Protagonist from the very start, she wouldn’t have had to work so hard to trick Players back at the Abandoned Cooling Plant.
“Me, the protagonist, follow my lead, do the quests, get the rewards. Otherwise, scram!”
A “legitimate” identity came with such brutal authority.
After reviewing all the enhancement prompts, Bai Fu quickly opened the Faction Management interface. As expected, a new Challenge Instances feature had been added to the lower right corner.
She clicked into it and began creating a new instance according to the prompts.
According to the description, she could create an instance based on any major event that members of Garden of Silence had experienced for Players to challenge.
However, since she could only create one instance for now, and she wanted to convert Players’ money and XP into her own as effectively as possible, she had to put real thought into the topic selection for this instance.
First, the instance had to have a certain level of difficulty. If it wasn’t hard, Players wouldn’t spend money. If it wasn’t challenging, Players wouldn’t be motivated to keep retrying, pushing for no-damage records or speedrun records—things that drive hype and community chatter.
But it also couldn’t be too hard. If it was overly difficult, it would deter Players from even participating. Difficulty from mechanics was fine, but numerical difficulty was a turn-off.
Second, it would be best for the instance to support multiple Players. That way, early on, she could rake in XP faster. But multiplayer didn’t mean solo was impossible—clearing a multiplayer instance solo was a talking point in itself, something that could attract high-level Players.
“Right now, most Players are already in the teens level-wise. Some have even reached level 20. So the events from the Abandoned Cooling Plant and Lynn Settlement periods can be skipped—too weak, not even a challenge for Player squads. But the BOSSes fought in Goli Desert are a bit too high-level. Even the weakest one, Rattlesnake, is level 30 total—he could easily demolish a squad. So…”
She chose the Battle of Bagaros Base!
Bagaros Base, including Yulia’s doppelgänger, had four BOSSes for Players to challenge. Excluding the special case of the doppelgänger, the strongest was Guido at level 28 total.
Guido was a Martial Artist with Fire-type Esper Power. He was only two levels lower than Rattlesnake, but their power gap was significant, since Rattlesnake had the extremely rare Psionic-type Esper Power on Origin Star.
At this stage, beating Guido would still be very difficult for Players. But once Version 1.2 launched, Players would have continued growth—some level-ups, plus a few Skills or Prayer Cards from the shop—and it would be possible to beat him. And even if they couldn’t beat Guido, they could still defeat the base’s lieutenants and supervisors, earning minor achievements.
Bai Fu carefully designed the Bagaros instance so that Players had to defeat all four BOSSes for a full clear, but they could receive stage rewards just by beating any one BOSS.
The strongest one, Yulia’s doppelgänger (level 30 total), was set as a Hidden BOSS. In the normal instance path, Players didn’t need to face her, as Bai Fu’s virtual in-game avatar would stall her. But Players could still choose to talk to Bai Fu’s avatar and directly challenge Yulia’s doppelgänger.
Since it was a Hidden BOSS, Bai Fu included a decent reward.

This reward was extremely appealing for Psionic Class Players. For other classes, it was still profitable—they could sell the Knowledge Chain to those who needed it.
Once the instance was fully designed, Bai Fu spent a lot of time stuffing the Pre-Battle Loadout shop with various items and Skills.
“Almost done.”
After over two hours of work, Bai Fu finally completed the instance setup.
She opened the instance description. A small window popped up in front of her.

Bai Fu threw in all kinds of record boards and rankings to stir up conversation.
Once Players started spreading the word, competition was sure to follow. And to set records, those challenging the instance definitely wouldn’t hold back on buying more items and Skills.
“If I remember right, the two biggest guilds in Garden of Silence right now—Iron Rain and Hall of Loyalty and Righteousness—are sworn enemies. This instance will surely push them to spend like crazy.”
Absolutely crushing it.
Bai Fu beamed with joy.
Everything was ready. Now all she had to do was wait for the version update to finish, and she could start turning up the heat on returning Players.
“I’m going to squeeze every drop of XP out of you!”
As a World BOSS, Bai Fu stayed eternally hungry.
But before she began exploiting the Players in earnest, she still had a lot of prep work to do.
Since it was a version update, she needed to provide more surprises for the Players—something to really get them excited.
Bai Fu quickly contacted Gao Yuan: “I need a monument. A huge one that can hold several thousand names. And I need a skilled stonemason to make it look good.”
That’s right. After the five bases were completed, she planned to engrave the names of every Player who helped build Garden of Silence onto the monument.
She got the idea after seeing a Player’s post about leaving their name on a brick. Back at the Abandoned Cooling Plant, she had done something similar—but hadn’t included any Player names.
This time, engraving Player names would further enhance their sense of participation and honor in building Garden of Silence.
A little sugar went a long way—especially honor and Reputation-flavored sugar. It cost her next to nothing and made Players grateful to her instead of resenting the XP grind.
