Chapter 342: Still Met in Person
Chapter 342: Still Met in Person
The next morning.
As soon as Adrian Lancaster entered the president’s office, his phone rang—it was a call from an unknown number.
Very few people knew his private number.
He was puzzled but didn’t hesitate for too long. His long fingers slid over the answer button, placing the phone gently to his ear, but he didn’t speak.
"Adrian, it’s me." After a moment, a familiar voice came through, one from deep within his memory.
Adrian Lancaster held his breath, his charming eyes slightly narrowed like ink spreading, "What’s the matter?"
Sienna obviously sensed his tone was a bit cold, but she still spoke softly, "There’s something I’d like to talk to you about in person, is that okay? When are you free? You set the time, choose the place."
"If there’s something to say, just say it over the phone." His tone was distant, as if he didn’t want much involvement with her.
Hearing these words, the girl on the other end of the line felt a slight tremor in her heart, but because he hadn’t hung up, Sienna felt he still harbored resentment about her leaving back then.
"Adrian..." Her tone was somewhat apologetic, with a hint of conciliation.
"If you have something to say, say it; if not, I’m hanging up." His voice became even colder.
Sienna quickly spoke up this time, "It really can’t be explained over the phone. Can we meet? It won’t take much of your time, you set the time, choose the place, I’m fine with anything."
Her tone was somewhat urgent, evidently eager to see him.
With the same familiar tone, the image of that innocent face flashed in Adrian Lancaster’s mind. He pondered for a while before finally suggesting a time and place, hanging up after speaking.
From her initial anticipation and nervousness to his eventual agreement, Sienna finally breathed a sigh of relief.
She still believed in her charm as his first love and her significance in his heart.
She felt as long as she continued to pursue him, she could surely win him back bit by bit.
The Prestige Group, in the elegantly simplistic president’s office.
Dustin Shepherd had received the list of the top 50 spokespersons. He was quite busy, with other tasks needing attention, so he hadn’t had the chance to see who was on the list.
But amidst his work, he often recalled the scene outside which he saw one night while leaving the building—
President Lancaster with his first love, Sienna Dawson... she was holding onto his arm, which was a form of intimate physical contact.
Dustin was quite worried for Faye Turner, wanting her to know that Sienna was back, to prepare her psychologically, yet he didn’t know how to approach the subject with her.
Is this the sort of thing that could be said?
Dustin was not sure either.
At this moment, Serena Sutton entered without knocking, seeing that President Lancaster wasn’t inside. As soon as she walked in, she noticed Dustin’s distracted look, "What’s up? What are you thinking about?"
Dustin returned to his senses and looked at her.
"Director Jennings asked me to get the documents. Has President Lancaster signed them?"
Dustin took a deep breath, genuinely feeling bad, and completely refocused, he found Nancy Jennings’ documents in the drawer and handed them to her.
"Assistant Shepherd, daydreaming during work hours is not good if President Lancaster catches you!" she reminded with a laugh, then turned to leave.
Dustin watched her back, neither rebutting nor offended.
He was still thinking about how to bring this topic up with Faye Turner.
The rival is in the dark, she is in the open.
Dustin deeply loved her, and he hoped she would live a happy life.
Adrian Lancaster canceled a previously planned appointment yesterday to make time for the meeting with Sienna.
In a cafe with an elegant atmosphere, the fresh flowers placed in a vase on the table exuded a captivating fragrance.
Sienna looked at the man seated across the table from her; he was still dressed in a refined, bespoke suit, handsome and charming.
Her heart was filled with a secret delight, believing that the fact he was willing to come despite his valuable time indicated that she still held a place in his heart.
"Speak." Adrian Lancaster glanced at his watch, his presence emanating a cool detachment, "I’ll give you ten minutes, focus on the main points."
The icy way he dealt with outsiders pulled at her wandering thoughts, leaving her somewhat disheartened.
But she had to seize the opportunity of this meeting.
