When the Wind is Sweet: The Fairy Tale of Mr. and Mrs. Lancaster

Chapter 286: She’s Having Inner Turmoil Again

Chapter 286: She’s Having Inner Turmoil Again

Due to Adrian Lancaster’s initiative and his easygoing nature, he eventually made Chloe Gable completely lose that sense of reservation and discomfort.

Despite her ordinary background and being in such a large villa, her heart was full of warmth.

After finishing the cake and having some tea, everyone chatted for a while, and unknowingly, it was already nine o’clock in the evening.

Adrian Lancaster suggested, "Mom, Milo, don’t go back tonight, stay here, I’ve already asked Miss Lane to prepare the rooms."

"No, no, no." Chloe Gable quickly shook her head, "I appreciate your thought, but I’ll definitely have insomnia here, I feel more at ease sleeping in my own home."

"Mom, stay here," Faye Turner also started to urge her.

"No, no, I’m used to sleeping at my own place."

As she insisted on leaving, Adrian Lancaster did not force her to stay, eventually sending a car to take her home and sending Milo to school.

In the courtyard, the couple stood facing the wind, waving their hands, watching the car drive out of the mansion.

A bright moon overhead spilled its clear light, the late autumn wind slightly chilly.

Faye Turner looked away, preparing to say something to him, only to see him with his hands in his pockets turning and walking towards the living room.

"..." Faye Turner was slightly stunned, gazing at the back, felt the emitting cold aura.

Just watching him for so long, she lost herself...

It was as if everything that happened earlier was an illusion, him calling "mom" and "wife" over and over.

Soon, Miss Lane came out with a jacket, gently draping it on her shoulders, "Madam, come inside, it’s chilly outside, the wind’s picking up."

Faye Turner walked inside, her mood suddenly a bit low, unable to accept this coldness after warmth.

Yet he, always like this!

"Thank you." She softly turned her eyes before remembering to thank Miss Lane.

"You’re welcome, your health is most important."

When Faye Turner walked into the living room, Adrian Lancaster was nowhere to be seen.

She went upstairs and found him in the study, standing at the window with one hand in his pocket, talking on the phone in a low voice about company projects.

Though he was wearing home clothes, his imposing aura couldn’t be ignored.

Faye Turner returned to the large adjacent bedroom, sat at the window gazing at the night outside, feeling a touch of sadness.

She didn’t know why she felt sad... but she just did.

Adrian Lancaster’s sporadic closeness and distance always made her overthink.

Until Chloe Gable called and said she had arrived home safely, urging her to rest early.

Chloe Gable sighed and smiled, saying, "Faye, seeing Adrian treat you so well, I finally feel at ease. You two must be happy."

"Mm-hmm." Faye Turner’s lips turned upward, "You rest early too."

"Okay, good night."

After hanging up, Faye Turner sat on the sofa for a while before getting up to take a shower.

Once she finished showering, Adrian Lancaster still hadn’t come in.

She sat at the bedside, covered with a blanket reading, unexpectedly lost in thought, wondering whether her mother-in-law had taken her herbal medicine on time.

She must find time to go home and have a look.

To cure his father, she must first win over his mother.

Faye Turner believed all human emotions are connected, that everyone is inherently good.

She also knew she couldn’t compete with Sienna Dawson, Adrian Lancaster’s first love, even though she was pregnant with Adrian Lancaster’s child.

But if she saved his father, would there be a moment in the future, when he chooses to abandon her, that he might hesitate?

Faye Turner just wanted her child to have a complete family.

But after the affair between Dylan Shaw and Rachel Sherman, even a marriage with a foundation of love was not lasting, let alone such a flash marriage without any foundation?

This matter couldn’t be deeply thought about, whenever she did, she would feel a sense of crisis, would become anxious.

As long as Sienna Dawson hadn’t died, Faye Turner felt that she would appear one day.
