Chapter 283: President Lancaster Like a Different Person

Chapter 283: President Lancaster Like a Different Person

Adrian Lancaster felt something was amiss, but Faye Turner insisted that everything was fine, telling him not to worry because things were already great as they were.

With three more dishes left to cook, Faye led Adrian Lancaster into the living room.

Wearing a white loungewear set, under the light, he looked warm and adorable, his whole demeanor softened greatly.

He was a completely different person from the man who strategized and controlled the economic power of Argent in the office.

But when he walked over, Chloe Gable and Milo Turner reflexively stood up, filled with respect for him.

"Sit, sit, sit," Adrian Lancaster quickly invited them to take a seat, showing a gentle expression on his face, and sat down himself, "Mom, Milo, treat this place like your own home. Please, make yourselves comfortable."

Chloe Gable responded, with a smile on her face, though she couldn’t help but feel a bit tense, which could be seen from her sitting posture.

After Adrian Lancaster settled into the sofa, he personally brewed tea for everyone, his lips curved in a gentle smile—

"Mom, tonight’s menu was prepared by Faye. I thought it was a bit simple, but I just found out, and I was planning to add more dishes, but she insisted not to."

Chloe Gable was already very happy just to be able to walk through this door, let alone have a meal prepared especially for her?

"It’s more than enough, we usually don’t eat much either. Besides, today is mainly about chatting with you, eating is secondary." This middle-aged woman was truly kind-hearted, always thinking of the children, "I haven’t seen Milo for a while, today I’m really happy."

"See? I told you, Mom wouldn’t mind." Faye’s eyes sparkled.

"Milo, how are things at school lately?" Adrian Lancaster handed a cup of tea over, asking with concern, "Is the study load heavy? Are you able to understand the teachers’ lectures?"

"It’s okay, just not getting enough sleep, waking up early and sleeping late." Milo Turner answered honestly, with a hint of the unique tiredness of a high school senior.

Adrian Lancaster looked up at him, and asked, "Do you sleep in class?"

"Not really." The young boy chuckled, a little embarrassed, "Now, every point counts, just a lost point is enough to beat a whole playground of students, missing a class would make me regret it for the rest of my life."

Adrian Lancaster was quite satisfied with this reply, and asked warmly, "What major do you want to pursue?"

"Materials Science." Milo was happy to engage with him, "To develop new materials for shoes."

This startled Chloe Gable, "Shoemaking? You strive to get into college just to... to make shoes??"

"Mom, making shoes is quite a big field of study." Milo complained a little, "You don’t understand, which is why when you ask what I want to do in the future, I’m reluctant to tell you."

"How could I not understand?" She was anxious, "How can you make shoes? You can just do that after middle school, right?"

Hearing this, Adrian Lancaster smiled and added, "Mom, don’t underestimate shoemaking. Skills and education level are both important, at least a postgraduate level in materials chemistry is required for this field."

This left Chloe Gable dumbfounded, making shoes requires such a high level of education?

"But I heard this major is hard to find a job in the future." Milo sighed, a bit troubled, "The class teacher advised that way too, and two boys in our class plan to apply for Materials Science."

Adrian Lancaster took a sip of Earl Grey Tea and expressed his stance immediately, "You don’t have to listen to the class teacher, interest is the best teacher. No matter what major you study, as long as you pass and get the necessary qualifications, look for me, and once you acquire the skills, employment won’t be an issue."

Milo felt very touched, and as if a weight had been lifted off his heart.

So, he raised his cup and stood up, "Brother-in-law, I toast to you! Using tea instead of wine!"

Adrian Lancaster smiled, raised his tea cup, gently clinked it with Milo’s, watched him drink it all, and encouraged him once more, "Study hard, the future is promising."
