Chapter 281: He Is Extremely Attentive
Chapter 281: He Is Extremely Attentive
Five minutes later, inside the departing Lamborghini.
Faye Turner sat beside Adrian Lancaster, with Mr. Kerr driving, a gentle breeze fluttering through the window.
"Could we... pick up my mom?" Faye turned her gaze, trying to ask him. "It’s on the way, I can have her wait by the roadside, it won’t delay you too long."
"I’ve already sent someone to pick her up, she should have arrived by now." As Adrian finished speaking, he glanced her way.
She raised her eyebrows in surprise, her eyes filled with incredulity!
Immediately, her heart was full of gratitude, "Thank you." Wasn’t he thoughtful?
He merely looked at her, without saying anything, and turned his gaze back to the front.
All along the way, Faye felt moved, occasionally glancing at him, only to find his expression very calm.
She wanted to say more to him, but remained silent.
Even though Adrian agreed to pick up her mom for dinner, Faye still felt there was a distance between them.
The Lamborghini stopped in the yard in front of the big villa, the sky’s sunset was already beautiful.
They got out of the car together and walked toward the living room.
"Sis, brother-in-law!"
"Milo?" Faye was just at the door, surprised and then very happy, "That’s great, you came too!"
"Brother-in-law sent someone to pick me up from school." Milo Turner was in a pretty good mood, a smile on his face.
"Sir, Madam." The servants greeted them.
Originally sitting on the sofa, Chloe Gable quickly got up upon seeing her daughter and son-in-law return, "Faye, Adrian... you’re back?" She smiled, noticeably a bit reserved.
"Mom!"
Faye had already come to her side, seeing her in a new dress, noticing the powder on her face, she hugged her touchingly, "Happy birthday!"
"Thank you, thank you..." Chloe Gable’s eyes were brimming with tears, trying to control her emotions so that the tears wouldn’t fall.
"Mom," Adrian also spoke gently, "Happy birthday."
"Ah," she responded in a trembling voice, releasing her daughter, looking toward the young man not far away with a smile, "Thank you, Adrian."
"Sit anywhere, make yourself at home, don’t be polite, and please don’t feel reserved. If you need anything, speak to Mr. Rhodes or Miss Lane," Adrian said as he casually removed his coat, then told everyone, "I’ll go upstairs to change clothes, I’ll be right down."
"Alright, go ahead." Chloe Gable cautiously looked at him, understanding his status even though she was the elder.
That innate aura was something no one dared to take lightly.
Adrian soon went upstairs, Faye sat on the sofa with her mother and brother, everyone chatting about family matters.
Though they had been family for over twenty years, in this opulent setting, it was evident that they were not completely at ease.
Milo Turner gazed around at the surroundings, marveling at the social class disparity, some are born in Rome.
While some might struggle a lifetime and still couldn’t afford a sofa here.
"Mom, how’s your health lately?" Faye asked concernedly, "Do you want me to check your pulse?"
"I’m alright, without your dad’s interference and threats, it’s much quieter." Chloe Gable spoke sincerely.
But as soon as she said it, she realized it was inappropriate for today’s occasion, and she shouldn’t have mentioned such gloomy matters.
Soon, footsteps were heard, Adrian appeared at the stairway landing.
He had changed out of his suit and was wearing the most casual home attire, the soft lighting on his handsome face, softening the entire aura.
Chloe Gable looked at him, feeling less fearful, as he exuded a sense of warmth.
Adrian’s actions surprised Faye because he didn’t have the habit of changing clothes immediately upon returning home, he usually did when showering.
And she had never seen him wear such cute home attire!
All white, cozy!
Truly, his aura seemed absent.
