Chapter 503: Let’s Give It a Try (Part 3)
Sheng Jianan, like a perfect boyfriend, effortlessly took the bag and purse from Su Anle’s hands, looking around at everyone with a smile: "Finished eating? I’ll take you all back."
Qi Cheng was the first to tease: "Mr. Sheng, you’re so late that we even paid the bill already."
Su Anle couldn’t miss Qi Cheng’s deliberate jab. She frowned slightly, not because she minded the jab, but she felt such words were inappropriate for Sheng Jianan. First, they had no relationship anymore, and second, given Sheng Jianan’s status, who would dare to say such frivolous things to him.
However, Young Master Sheng seemed completely unbothered and sincerely apologized: "That was my fault. Next time, I’ll come earlier and carry your bags and pay the bill. Or, how about a late-night snack now?"
Laughter filled Sheng Jianan’s eyes, and even though he spoke seriously, there was a touch of humor, leaving Su Anle utterly stunned.
Is this really Sheng Jianan?
You’ve got to be kidding me!
"Alright, alright, quickly take my Tangtang back. Whether Tangtang can stay depends on you."
"Thank you. I will certainly try my best."
Su Anle: "..."
What on earth is this?
After getting in the car, Sheng Jianan placed the things Su Anle bought in the back seat, then picked up Su Weiyi and fastened her seatbelt before opening the passenger side door to signal Su Anle to get in.
"No need, I’ll sit in the back."
"No space."
Su Anle glanced at the back seat, where Su Weiyi and some shopping bags were. Realistically, a little adjustment would make room, but someone didn’t think so.
Without arguing further, since they were on a busy street and with three others watching nearby, she didn’t want to embarrass Sheng Jianan, so she bent down and got in.
She waved goodbye to Bai Bing and the others. Once the car drove a bit, Su Anle realized this wasn’t the way back to the hotel and looked at the person beside her, puzzled.
Sheng Jianan kept his eyes on the road, seemingly oblivious to the questioning glance from next to him.
After staring for a minute without getting an answer, Su Anle asked, "Where are you taking us?"
Sheng Jianan turned his head and smiled at her, "Don’t worry, I’m not selling you. We’ll be there soon."
The car turned several corners before finally entering a neighborhood. Sheng Jianan stopped at the unit entrance, opened the back door for Su Weiyi, who jumped out and tugged at Su Anle’s coat: "Mommy, Mommy, Xiao Yi has something to show you."
Su Anle helplessly followed her inside. Su Weiyi dashed into a room and came out holding a piece of paper, beaming as she handed it to Su Anle: "Mommy, look, Xiao Yi drew this."
The paper was colorful, depicting three people standing side by side with some extremely simple mountains, water, and trees behind them.
"This is Mommy, this is Daddy, and this is Xiao Yi."
The child’s clear voice echoed in Su Anle’s ears. She couldn’t bear to interrupt her, so she let her excitedly chatter and drag her around the room.
They looked at her art studio and her princess-themed room.
After touring around, Su Anle finally held the little girl’s hand, "Xiao Yi, be good, step inside first. Mommy and Daddy have something to talk about."
Since she was facing away, Su Anle didn’t notice the slight stiffness and fleeting smile on the man’s face behind her when she mentioned "Daddy."
