Chapter 254: Tang Yanqi, Let’s Have a Child (Part 4)
The hospital is under Shengshi Group, which can be said to be the best-located hospital in B City. Nearby, there are also restaurants, hotels, and malls under Shengshi Group, making it very convenient to buy anything. How could it be possible to only buy this kind of gutter oil stuff?
Under normal circumstances, Sheng Jianan would definitely disdainfully discard it, then arrogantly raise an eyebrow and say, "Let’s go, I’ll take you to buy something."
But now... after a brief frown, Sheng Jianan reached out for the chopsticks, picked up a piece of already discolored green vegetable, and put it in his mouth.
Tang Yanqi watched him, and also lowered her head to silently start eating.
In the quiet hospital corridor, the two of them were eating without making a sound. A doctor who knew Sheng Jianan wanted to invite him into a room, but seeing the couple’s appearance, silently closed his mouth again.
Tang Yanqi didn’t have much of an appetite; she set down her chopsticks after eating two-thirds of her meal. Beside her, Sheng Jianan was faster, finishing the last bite of rice and vegetables, then tilted his head to glance at Tang Yanqi’s leftovers, reaching over to take them.
"Sheng..."
Tang Yanqi was momentarily dazed because she was surprised that Sheng Jianan actually finished the food. By the time she snapped back to her senses, Sheng Jianan had already taken the lunch box from her hand, and was even eating with her chopsticks.
There was an indescribable feeling in Tang Yanqi’s heart; this wasn’t right, this was too wrong!
She didn’t think of it as an intimate gesture. Tang Yanqi had never been in a relationship and didn’t have a fixed mindset to see such actions as ambiguous.
She just thought it was strange that someone as proud and noble as Sheng Jianan would eat someone else’s leftovers.
Thinking about it, Tang Yanqi could only come up with one conclusion: perhaps that box of food simply wasn’t enough for Sheng Jianan. After all, he is a man, and when people are hungry, anything tastes good.
After quickly finishing Tang Yanqi’s leftover food, Sheng Jianan took a card out of his wallet and tucked it into Tang Yanqi’s hand: "I’ll be in the hospital for the next few days, sorry for the trouble."
Tang Yanqi blankly stared at the gleaming card in her hand, instinctively wanting to refuse, but upon hearing Sheng Jianan’s words, she realized he was asking her to deliver meals? But wouldn’t the Sheng Family take care of it?
Or perhaps, because of what happened to Mr. Sheng, Sheng Jianan was angry, so he didn’t want to see the Sheng Family members?
This explanation made sense. Considering the kind of food the young master was accustomed to, she, as a poor person, couldn’t afford it. Tang Yanqi quietly accepted the card; this was not the time to be concerned with these matters. Mr. Sheng’s health was the top priority now.
Sheng Jianan called Xiao Li to take Tang Yanqi back to the dormitory. Watching her leave, a meaningful expression appeared on Sheng Jianan’s face.
Receiving a call from his father informing him that his grandfather had fallen into a coma, he had almost flown to the hospital, filled with anger and anxiety, and the fear of possibly losing a close family member at any moment.
However, when he lay in the corridor, with a dark expression, and saw a petite figure downstairs supporting her knees and panting, then quickly running to catch an elevator, Sheng Jianan found that his heart miraculously calmed down.
His rationality gradually returned, the chaotic mind felt like it was infused with a clear stream, slowly washing away those almost insane emotions, calming him.
No one can truly maintain absolute rationality and composure from birth, and in his past moments of irrationality and instability, his grandfather was the one who kept him clear-headed.
