Tang Yanqi paused, reached out to pat Qi on the shoulder, stared at her for two seconds, and let out a deep sigh.
Her expression left everyone confused, and Qi Cheng felt uneasy. "Tangtang, what are you doing?"

The call was from the boss lady of the western restaurant where she worked part-time. She said an employee had taken leave this afternoon, and they had an event to host, so they were short on staff. She hoped Tang Yanqi could come help if she was free, offering triple pay.
The restaurant owner had always been kind to her, so even without the triple pay, Tang Yanqi would go. She didn’t have any classes this afternoon and readily agreed.
Qi Cheng stood beside her and heard the conversation, then asked with genuine concern after calming down from the recent laughter, "Tangtang, you’ve just recovered from a serious illness. Are you okay?"

Tang Yanqi beamed a bright smile. She knew Qi Cheng was worried about her, and she assured them she was fine in the same spirited way.
Since she had to help at the western restaurant, Tang Yanqi didn’t follow her roommates back to the dorm.

Tang Yanqi was unaware of their imagination. As she was walking toward the campus gate, she received a text from Sheng Jianan inviting her to dinner tonight because his cousin was visiting.
As long as it’s not too public, Tang Yanqi would comply, but she had already agreed to help at the western restaurant. She hesitated for a moment before texting Sheng Jianan back, "I have something this afternoon, will be done by seven, and will come over then."
