Chapter 232: Drunk and Embarrassed! (Part 2)
In the office
Sheng Jianan opened his email and received an invitation from his former economics professor. The prodigy Sheng Jianan, known for his arrogance and dominance, usually looked down on people. Those whom he appreciated could be counted on one hand, and this professor was among them.
Now, the professor sent an email hoping Sheng Jianan could attend an event in New York, United States, as an expert. Sheng Jianan generally disdainred such events, but since it was an invitation from his esteemed teacher, he didn’t want to reject it.
He reached over and pressed the intercom button: "Give me my schedule for the next few days."
Qiao Zi came in with the schedule to report, and Sheng Jianan’s eyebrows gradually furrowed. A trip to the United States would take three full days, and he hadn’t forgotten that Tang Yanqi’s birthday was coming up soon.
He tapped his fingers on the desk: "Clear a week for me, postpone everything else."
"Yes."
"Also, book two tickets to New York for next Friday."
"Two?"
Qiao Zi glanced at the schedule: "Is the President going on a business trip?"
"No, book one for me and one for Young Madam."
"Okay, should I arrange for Young Madam to take leave from her classes?"
"Yes, you handle it. Don’t tell her yet."
"Got it."
After confirming everything, Qiao Zi turned to leave, when suddenly someone barged into the office: "Big bro, I missed you so much."
Qiao Zi was startled by the sudden entrance, and upon recognizing the person, quickly greeted respectfully: "Mr. Gu."
"Assistant Qiao, good morning."
Qiao Zi nodded and stepped aside to leave.
Sheng Jianan looked up at the intruder, raising an eyebrow: "Why are you back?"
Gu Han was the only child of the Gu Family and Sheng Jianan’s cousin. He was supposed to be in his freshman year in the United Kingdom, yet here he was.
Gu Han beamed, sidling up to Sheng Jianan: "Big bro, I heard some lady hero conquered you, and they were all unkind enough not to tell me, hmph!"
As he spoke, sparks seemed to fly in Gu Han’s eyes: "So, so? Where is this lady hero? Take me to meet her."
Sheng Jianan unceremoniously knocked Gu Han on the head. Lady hero?
Tang Yanqi?
The image of Tang Yanqi’s petite frame popped into his head—he could lift her with one hand, a lady hero?
Lynx is more like it.
Sheng Jianan couldn’t help but smile slightly. This little gesture did not escape Gu Han’s notice. Gu Han looked as if he had discovered a new world, his eyes wide: "Oh my, big bro, were you just smiling? Because you thought of the lady hero?"
Sheng Jianan suppressed his expression and once again hit Gu Han on the head: "Do I need to notify the Gu Family to come pick you up?"
"No, no, no, I snuck out. They can’t find out."
Smiling fawningly, Gu Han continued: "Hey hey, big bro, just let me meet this legendary lady hero."
Meanwhile, after finishing lunch, Tang Yanqi and her roommate left the cafeteria. Qi Cheng complained: "The food in the cafeteria is getting worse and more expensive. It’s hard to survive."
Bai Bing immediately countered: "And who was it that bought three dresses in one go yesterday?"
Qi Cheng: "Oh well, it’s just the change of seasons, and I have nothing to wear. They always say a woman’s wardrobe is missing one piece of clothing, right? Tangtang, don’t you think?"
