Chapter 105 -Connection

They rushed beside Lea, checking on her of any sign of breakdown that Elizabeth's words might have caused. But they couldn't find any. Lea just kept staring up at the ceiling without saying anything.

" Are you alright? What did she say? " Jake asked. There was no reply. His eyes fell in the little box in her hand. "What is this? " Jake asked trying to take it from her hand. Lea sat up but before she could protest Jake opened the box. There was a beautiful ring inside with the initial 'R' engraved on it. It looked old and expensive but there was only one problem. It was a man's ring. Why was it in Lea's possession?

" Did she give this to you? Why? " Jake asked giving the ring back to Lea.

Lea smiled at him. " It's a gift for our boy. It's for Kai. " Nobody understood what went between the two of them but there had been a tsunami, earthquake, cyclone, all at once. Both of them looked devastated . Both looked like they had just walked a thousand miles.

Jake furrowed his brows, clearly perplexed. "A ring for Kai? I don't understand. Why would she give him this?It looks like it belonged to someone and it's the size of a f*cking grown up man. "

"Lea, what exactly did she say?" But before Phill could further grill her about everything, a nurse came running, looking for Phill. " Kai has regained consciousness. The attending doctors want you to do a preliminary check up... " Lea yanked her around. " He is awake? Can I see him? "

" Lea, I am going in first. I will call you as soon as he is ready to meet anybody. " Phill sprinted with the nurse and so did the rest of them.
