Chapter 332 - 331: We’ll Decide After Seeing His Performance
Bella Acker breathed a sigh of relief, but she felt a little sulky inside.
He said breakup and they broke up, so heartless and unfeeling, and he said so many hurtful words. She couldn’t just forgive him so easily.
Bella Acker lifted her chin and stared at him, saying, "That depends on your performance. If you make me happy, I’ll forgive you. If not, hmph hmph..."
He used to always say it depended on her performance, but now the tables have turned, and finally, it’s her turn to say this.
Damian Sinclair squinted at her, nodded after a moment, "Okay."
Bella Acker was surprised, her eyes widened. She didn’t expect he’d actually agree.
Damian Sinclair let go of her wrist and asked, "What should I do to make Ms. Acker happy?"
"What to do?" Bella Acker thought seriously, realizing that no matter what he did for her, she would be pleased.
No! No!
She can’t be so easily swayed!
Bella Acker put on a serious face, "You’re a grown man, not as young as Ethan, you don’t need me to teach you what to do."
As she spoke, she observed Damian’s expression. She was speaking to Damian like this for the first time, feeling a bit triumphant!
Bah, bah, bah! What triumphant feeling? It’s more like singing a song of triumph!
Damian Sinclair squinted at her, secretly grinding his teeth.
Bella Acker looked at him, "What’s wrong? Not convinced?"
"No," Damian Sinclair said, "Ms. Acker is right."
"Hmph hmph, that’s more like it." Bella Acker proudly lifted her chin, "Now be a good boy and go back to rest."
Damian Sinclair looked at her without expression, "I took cold medicine and am feeling dizzy, not suitable to drive."
Bella Acker frowned. She had just given him some potent cold medicine, and indeed it made people a bit dizzy and sleepy, making driving dangerous.
"Alright, then go sleep in my room for a while." Bella Acker said, "I’ll hang the clothes up first, then get some ice cubes to soothe your forehead."
Being able to sleep in her room was, of course, a welcome thing for Damian Sinclair.
However, Damian Sinclair didn’t show any emotion on his face, nodding slightly, asking, "Where’s your room?"
"I’ll take you." Bella Acker couldn’t really be cruel enough to leave a sick person unattended, and they’d been together for so long, it seemed like it was the first time she saw him sick.
Bella Acker led the way, and Damian Sinclair nodded to Aunt Sienna, following her across the dining hall to the other side of the corridor.
A new staircase had been placed under the attic room, and the previous ladder, having no place to set, was temporarily placed beside it.
Bella Acker pointed to the attic above, saying, "My room is up there, you can go up the new stairs."
The new stairs were step-style, much safer than the previous ladder where you had to step rung by rung.
Damian Sinclair glanced at the ladder beside them, finally understanding why Blythe Sinclair’s first request after staying one night was asking him to send over a new staircase.
"Is this how you used to go up and down the attic?" Damian Sinclair asked.
"Yes." Bella Acker nodded indifferently, already stepping up the stairs to the attic.
Damian Sinclair frowned. After they got together, he always sent her back and went home the same day, this was the first time he saw this ladder. If he’d known earlier, he would’ve replaced it long ago.
"Damian, what are you standing there for? Come up!" Bella Acker waved at him from above.
Only then did Damian Sinclair step onto the new stairs and ascend to the attic.
