Chapter 306 - 305: Sorry, Poor Arrangements

The middle-aged woman paused for a moment, then turned to look back.

Seeing Damian Sinclair, she smiled slightly and nodded as a greeting.

Damian also nodded gently in response, but his gaze only rested on Bella Acker, cold and deep as an abyss.

Bella looked at him too, but his gaze was too cold and distant, causing her to eventually lower her head, and she stood up by herself from the ground.

The middle-aged woman said to Bella, "I’m really sorry. Bonnie ran too fast and bumped into this gentleman, and then into you. To apologize, I’d like to invite both of you for a drink, is that alright?"

Bella was taken aback, not realizing the little boy had also bumped into Damian earlier. Watching them nod at each other, she assumed they were acquaintances.

"No need, I’m fine," Bella shook her head and said, "You should check if the little boy is hurt."

"Bonnie is fine," the middle-aged woman said with a loving smile as she took the little boy’s hand. "Bonnie, quickly apologize to the lady."

"I’m sorry, sister," Bonnie obediently apologized as instructed by the middle-aged woman.

Bella noticed that his gaze seemed a bit unfocused and his expression dazed, unlike the typical lively children.

"It’s okay," Bella smiled and squatted down to look at Bonnie, saying, "Be careful when you walk next time, don’t fall again. It will hurt a lot if you get hurt."

"Okay," Bonnie nodded heavily.

"Bonnie is a good boy," Bella pinched the child’s chubby cheek before standing up.

"I’m really sorry," the middle-aged woman’s smile was gentle as she suddenly asked Bella, "Young lady, have we met before? You seem somewhat familiar to me."

"I am also from Creston, perhaps we’ve met on the street before," Bella replied, "You also seem familiar to me, madam."

"Maybe," the middle-aged woman nodded thoughtfully, "Let’s have tea together if we get the chance. It’s getting late, I’ll take Bonnie back now."

"Alright, goodbye," Bella waved to the little boy looking up at her, "Goodbye, Bonnie."

"Bonnie, say goodbye to the sister," the middle-aged woman gently urged the little boy.

"Goodbye, sister," Bonnie seemed suddenly brightened and turned to wave at Damian too, "Goodbye, uncle."

"Goodbye," Damian nodded.

The middle-aged woman left with Bonnie, but couldn’t resist turning back to glance at Bella, feeling a vague sense of familiarity about her.

"Mom, need to pee?" Bonnie shook the middle-aged woman’s hand, looking up.

The middle-aged woman returned to her senses, stopped thinking, and took Bonnie’s hand, heading to the restroom.

After they left, Bella glanced at Damian and then lowered her head.

Damian looked down at her, the two standing at the doorway backstage.

After a long silence, Damian spoke first, "Is this the way Ms. Acker celebrates my birthday?"

"I’m sorry," Bella murmured with her head down, "My arrangements might not have been good."

"So, can I leave now?" Damian didn’t comment on her arrangements, but asked in a deep voice.

Has he become so averse to being with her now?

Bella’s heart twinged painfully, and her eyes began to well up, but she tried hard to suppress her tears, nodding, "Yes. I’m sorry for wasting your time."

Damian glanced at her with a heavy gaze, then turned to leave without saying anything else.

Bella looked up and noticed that he wasn’t carrying the Wintergreen Flower she had given him.

"Damian, where’s the Wintergreen Flower?"
