Chapter 81: Ch 81: Crazy Advancement, Gold Soul Master
Chapter 81: Ch 81: Crazy Advancement, Gold Soul Master
The man, now in control of Emrys’s body, stood tall and withdrew his senses from the Cosmic Essence Core. He seemed familiar with Soul Cultivation, as he tried to locate Emrys’s soul mark but failed.
"Since I was able to take over this body with only one-ninth of the restriction lifted, I think the owner of this body is already dead. With his soul gone, his soul mark must have vanished as well. That’s why I can’t sense it. However, the Soul Sea remains, and it’s quite profound for a newbie. If I want to pursue Cosmic Cultivation, it would be beneficial to awaken the Soul Mark first. It’s said that no ordinary person can awaken their Soul Mark after the age of eighteen. But the Spiritarium is vast, even larger than many Cosmic Fields out there."
"When I visited this Cosmic Field once before, I encountered several Soul Cultivators who managed to awaken their Soul Marks after the age of eighteen through fortuitous encounters or with significant help. I am no ordinary person. I learned a method to awaken the Soul Mark after the age of eighteen during my visit to the Spiritarium. I can use that method to awaken the Soul Mark in this body and fully merge with it, officially taking it over."
The man raised his head and surveyed the surroundings with his dark eyes. He could sense the fear emanating from the scaled red creature and the smaller ones. Despite their menacing appearance, they were now like quivering leaves before a storm.
He didn’t do anything immediately but once again closed his eyes, trying to sense Emrys’s Soul Mark to be sure of something.
"I better be careful. I don’t know how I ended up in this body. My appearance here could be a trap laid by Ling Xiaolong. I don’t want to fall into a pit dug by him, not again."
The man wanted to be sure, so he carefully observed every part of Emrys’s body, including his own consciousness and Emrys’s Soul River, but found nothing. He neither sensed Emrys’s Soul Mark, his Soul Beast the Void Phoenix, nor the Multicolored Orb, and he found no trace of Emrys’s soul anywhere. Only when he was confident it wasn’t a trap did he heave a sigh of relief.
He had been a person who could freely travel the void and wreak havoc everywhere at will. He used to be an expert feared by countless forces. He was certain that nothing, especially the traces of an incredibly weak soul, could escape his eyes.
He then opened his eyes again. His eyes narrowed.
"Interesting," he muttered, feeling the power surging within him. "This body is more powerful than I expected."
The black mist continued to radiate from Emrys’s body now that the man had taken possession of him, creating an aura of darkness that seemed to pulse with its own life.
The scaled red creature, which had been so fierce and domineering before, now looked utterly terrified. Its body trembled uncontrollably, its instincts screaming that it was in the presence of a predator far beyond its comprehension.
The man flexed his fingers, marveling at the sensation of strength and vitality that coursed through Emrys’s body.
"I see now," he murmured, "This body’s potential is immense. With the Cosmic Essence Core and my strong soul, I can accomplish far more than I ever did in my original body. But it is not time yet, it is not the time to awaken the Soul Mark. I have to prepare a few things first!"
Finally, he turned his attention back to the creatures before him. Then he commanded, pointing at the scaled red creature. "You, kneel."
The scaled red creature immediately felt the restriction binding his body suddenly disappearing. It was not just the scaled red creature, but all the red creatures in the dark forest.
The scaled red creature looked around and hesitated for a split second before its legs buckled, and it fell to its knees. The smaller red creatures looked at their leader and then followed suit. Every one of them knelt before Emrys, or to be exact, the man. Their eyes were wide with fear and submission.
"Hmm," the man mused, stepping closer to the scaled red creature. Then he reached out and placed a hand on the creature’s head. The dark mist began to swirl around his hand, seeping into the creature’s body.
Growl~
The red creature whimpered like a mere beast, its eyes rolling back in its head as it felt its life force being drained. Its body began to shrivel and shrink, its life force being absorbed into Emrys’s body. The man could feel the power flowing into him, strengthening him further. It was not ordinary strengthening. Emrys’s Soul River expanded wildly, and the fog within the Cosmic Essence Bead also surged. Additionally, Emrys’s body was continuously being strengthened.
Surprisingly, despite Emrys’s soul having disappeared, his cultivation remained. In the blink of an eye, he broke through to the realm of Secret Silver Soul Cultivation. The increase in his cultivation didn’t stop there; it continued to rise.
Elementary Secret Silver Soul Master.
Intermediate Secret Silver Soul Master.
His cultivation finally stopped increasing once he reached the level of an Intermediate Secret Silver Soul Master.
As for the cross mark on his face, it began to fade. Its once-dark appearance lightened slightly. The scaled red creature collapsed, lifeless, and the man shifted his attention, surveying the remaining creatures. A single glance from him was enough to instill terror in them. The red creatures stepped back, trembling in fear. Moreover, those furthest away even turned to flee so to avoid repeating the fate of their leader.
However, before they could escape, tentacles of dark mist erupted from the ground, piercing their bodies. Hundreds of thousands of these tentacles appeared, forcefully devouring the creatures’ energy, vitality, and soul. The man seemed to savor this process, his joy increasing as more red creatures withered into fragments of dark ash and disappeared.
His cultivation also started increasing rapidly, breaking through to Advanced Secret Silver Soul Master in less than a minute.
Despite being a former supreme expert, the man overlooked a crucial detail. A Soul Master’s cultivation can only advance if they possess a Soul Mark. Without a Soul Mark, progressing in Soul Cultivation is simply impossible.
However, as he completely devoured the red creatures, his cultivation continued to increase. This should have been impossible, yet it was happening to him.
Had he noticed this anomaly, he might have suspected that Ling Xiaolong had laid an even deeper trap for him than he initially thought.
"BOOM!"
After a few more minutes, the Soul River suddenly surged and advanced a level further. A soul storm seemed to have erupted inside his Soul River as a storm with very strong Soul Force swept over with incredible power.
Gold Soul Master!
Just like that, the man was able to advance to the Elementary Gold Soul Master in Emrys’s body.
As the man devoured and his cultivation increased, he started laughing again. A deep and malevolent sound echoed through the dark forest in the mountain range.
"This is only the beginning," he laughed and muttered. "Soon, the world will know my name, and they will tremble before me once again."
Then he turned his gaze upward, toward the sky and shouted, his voice filled with hatred and determination.
"Ling Xiaolong, you thought you could imprison me forever. But I will break free. I will find you. And I will make you suffer a hell that you could not even imagine."
While he was laughing madly, a commotion stirred among the red creatures. They were fleeing for their lives, desperate to escape as far as possible from this place. However, the dark mist tentacles wouldn’t let them go. The tentacles pierced through the fleeing red beings, absorbing their energy, vitality, and souls with relentless efficiency.
In less than fifteen minutes, millions of red creatures vanished from the dark mountain range. Not a single small red creature was left alive. Only the nine giant red creatures standing behind the nine black pillars of light remained.
These giants trembled in fear, yet they could not flee. The restrictions that had been lifted from the smaller creatures did not lift from their bodies. Perhaps this was a blessing in disguise, as it might be the reason they were still alive.
Meanwhile, Emrys (the man) had advanced his cultivation to the level of an Advanced Gold Soul Master. In less than an hour, he managed to elevate Emrys’s cultivation by two major realms. A journey from Silver Soul Master to Gold Soul Master that generally takes years for people to complete, he accomplished in mere minutes.
After laughing for a while, the man finally shifted his attention to the nine giant red creatures. Then he suddenly transformed into dark mist and moved in their direction. Along the way, he also saw a backpack. The dark mist brought the backpack along and transformed back into Emrys after arriving in front of the nine pillars of light.
