Chapter 369: Ch 369: Advanced Exalted Starlight Master

Emrys stood quietly there for some time. He spent a few minutes adjusting and familiarizing himself with the changes inside his body. After he adjusted to his newly gained strength, he stepped forward again, walking deeper into the ruins.

His black robe swayed lightly with the cold breeze.

Very soon, Emrys came outside the ruin. Walking for a minute more, he turned back to take a look, only to see the structure of a giant palace that had crumbled for some unknown reason. In other words, the ruin he just walked out from was this giant, crumbled palace.

Just one look and Emrys sighed in admiration. Although the palace had crumbled, it still appeared magnificent.

Emrys diverted his attention and looked around. He became even more alert as his gaze swept across the distant horizon.

From where he stood, he could see faint flashes of light erupting one after another at various points across the battlefield. There were bursts of blue, red, and gold blinking against the gray sky. Explosions could be heard echoing in the air like distant thunder rolling across a dead land. These were all clear signs of battles being fought in the distance. Fortunately, they were far from his current location.

Shaking his head slightly, Emrys pulled back his focus and looked here and there with caution.

After a brief moment of thought, he chose a random direction and began walking again.

His footsteps were silent as he moved across the cracked earth, surrounded by broken stones and shattered statues. The land ahead was bleak and filled with the thick aura of death. The cold wind brushed against his face as his black robe fluttered softly behind him.

Soon, he arrived at a place where his steps came to a halt.

Why?

It’s because a battle was taking place not far from him.

He could see two girls fighting desperately against a huge demon.

The demon was massive, standing like a blood-red tower. Its skin was dark crimson and three twisted horns could be seen rising from its forehead like jagged spears. Its eyes were filled with cruelty and madness. On its back, three thick tails waved wildly. Each tail’s end was a sharp, arrow-like point, which was glowing faintly with a poisonous light.

The two girls were fighting with everything they had, but it was clear they were no match.

One was holding a long spear, while the other was wielding twin short blades. Their attacks were precise, but barely scratched the demon’s thick hide. The demon had already forced the two girls to retreat again and again.

Emrys could see blood marks on the girls’ bodies. Obviously, they were injured while fighting against this demon.

Unfortunately, they could not escape. If they tried to retreat, the demon would definitely strike and kill them sooner if not instantly.

As they were fighting, they soon noticed someone arriving. The two girls quickly turned their heads, and when they saw Emrys, their eyes lit up.

"Please, Help us!" one of them immediately shouted, hoping for Emrys to help them.

In a battlefield where the human race was fighting against all kinds of other races, any human was a rare ally. Trust might be thin between them, but in a life-and-death moment like this, survival came first.

Emrys didn’t hesitate. He stepped forward.

He wasn’t just doing this out of kindness. He had his reasons. These girls might know what this place truly was, and more importantly, they might know the location of the battlefield he had first appeared in. That place was where the Deformed Abyssal Sword was lost. He needed that sword back, no matter what.

Without wasting a second, Emrys moved toward the demon. Then he raised his right hand slowly, and immediately, a surge of dark mist began to swirl around his palm like smoke crawling out of the void. In the next moment, the mist condensed into a long black sword.

The moment the sword fully materialized, Emrys vanished and appeared right in front of the towering demon, moving faster than the girls could follow.

Both girls were Ninth-level Kings, but unable to see how Emrys moved which surprised them greatly. As for the demon, it flinched.

Although it was a half-step World Master, the moment Emrys appeared before it, the beast’s instincts screamed in danger. It tried to raise its arms, tried to defend itself, one of the demon’s three tails was sliced clean off as a deep black arc cut through the air, followed by a loud explosion as the shockwave blasted outward.

"ROOOAAARR!!"

The demon bellowed in rage and pain. Its eyes turned blood-red as it lashed out with fury, swinging all of its remaining limbs toward Emrys with devastating strength. A storm of demonic power surged forward like a collapsing mountain.

But Emrys was gone again. He moved like a ghost and appeared above the demon’s head, his dark sword pointed downward, glowing with an even deeper abyssal light.

The girls watched in awe and disbelief as Emrys’s sword buzzed heavily and then descended like a falling star.

A beam of pure darkness slashed through the air, piercing straight into the demon’s skull. Demon had no time to scream. Only a blinding flash of abyssal light flashed as the demon’s head was cleaved in two, its monstrous body trembling violently before freezing in place.

A second later, a thunderous "BOOM" echoed out as the demon’s massive body split apart from head to chest. Black blood exploded like a fountain, splattering across the ground. Its remaining tails thrashed once before falling limply.

The demon died just like that.

Emrys landed gently on the ground like a drifting shadow. His expression was indifferent, and when he turned, he saw the two women’s open mouths. They were terribly shocked.

Ignoring them, Emrys immediately activated ⟪Silent Devourer of All Paths⟫ and ⟪Soul Plunder⟫ simultaneously. A shadow stretched out of him and immediately devoured the entire beast’s corpse along with its dissipating soul.

The next moment, a booming sound erupted from his body and Emrys advanced to the Advanced Exalted Starlight Master and reached the peak. He was now only a single step away from becoming a Supreme Starlight Master.
