Walker Of The Blue Sky

Chapter 362: Ch 362: Obtaining The Inheritance

Chapter 362: Ch 362: Obtaining The Inheritance

Emrys felt the ground beneath his feet trembling as more soul force rushed in from every direction. The air grew heavy. Each breath he took was filled with thick soul energy that made his body feel both energized and pressured at the same time.

The massive vortex of silver mist surrounding the altar spun faster and faster. It looked like a storm made of light and soul energy, yet it made no sound. Emrys stared at it, wanting to know what was happening.

The soul energy continued to pour into the figure on the throne.

Tap.

Suddenly, a faint sound echoed, and the statue’s finger moved.

It was just one small motion, but it felt like a giant bell had been struck in Emrys’s mind. His heart pounded loudly.

Thump... thump... thump!

Then, the figure slowly opened its eyes. His eyes were like glowing twin stars as he gazed at Emrys.

Then, a deep voice echoed in the air.

"Since you were able to come here, it means you must have passed all the trials."

As if thinking Emrys may misunderstand, the statue spoke again, "Don’t worry, there won’t be another trial. You had to go through trials only to reach the palace. Now that you are here, it means you are worthy of obtaining my inheritance."

Emrys was startled, but then, he knew something is wrong. He did not, but this statue-like figure does seem to have misunderstood his presence.

Moreover, it seems he was going to obtain the inheritance just like that. It was so simple. All he had to do was reach the palace, and that’s all?

Emrys couldn’t help but wonder if this person had ever considered that someone with the ability to teleport might come here directly.

Isn’t this stupid?

What Emrys didn’t know was that no one in this space could teleport. In fact, space cannot be manipulated because it is sealed here.

If someone wants to come to the palace to obtain the inheritance, they must walk step by step, go through all the trials, and succeed. Otherwise, reaching here would be impossible.

Emrys was able to come directly to the palace, even though the space was sealed, not just because of his authority over space, which let him unknowingly forcefully manipulate it, but also because what he used wasn’t normal teleportation. He used the ability called Node Shift, which let him move to the entrance of the palace by shifting to a space node that already existed there.

While Emrys was still thinking that this figure was stupid, the statue-like figure raised his hand slowly and pointed at Emrys.

And then, a thin beam of soul light shot out and touched Emrys’s forehead.

At that moment, Emrys’s body froze.

His mind felt like it had been pulled into a vast sea of memories. Battles, training, deep meditations, cultivation methods, soul skills, and countless experiences of a Spiritas who had once stood at the peak, all flooded into his mind like tsunami.

Visions flashed in his mind so fast and so many that he couldn’t keep up. Yet somehow, he understood each one. He could feel himself learning everything.

After an unknown amount of time, Emrys finally woke up from a daze. There was so much knowledge that he felt like his head was going to explode. It was still hurting really bad.

Taking a deep breath, Emrys looked ahead, only to see that the statue-like figure was no longer there. Instead, he could see a very small amount of dust.

He seemed to understand what must have happened here. He could only sigh and look around.

However, before Emrys could look around carefully, a strong force pulled him again.

The altar faded and the silver mist vanished. Everything around Emrys turned black.

And then, after a few seconds, a light appeared before his eyes. Emrys found himself standing next to a huge skeleton. However, unlike before, no pressure was exuding from the skeleton.

As soon as Emrys found himself beside the massive skeleton once again, he immediately understood that the inheritance trial was over. That place had served its purpose, and now, it had closed on its own.

He could guess what would happen next.

"Those five Spiritas will be sent out soon," Emrys muttered under his breath.

He shook his head and walked slowly to the ancient monument nearby. Without a word, he sat down cross-legged before it. The air was calm now, and for the first time since entering this strange place, he could feel the restriction on flight had disappeared.

He closed his eyes and let the quiet moments pass as he waited.

Minutes later, flashes of light lit up the surroundings.

Whoosh!

Whoosh!

Whoosh!

One after another, the five Spiritas appeared beside the skeleton. Each of them arrived in a beam of light. Their faces were filled with confusion and disbelief as they looked around.

"What happened?" one of them muttered, glancing around warily.

"It seems we were forcefully sent out," the second Spiritas said, still scanning the area as if trying to make sense of it.

"Why did this happen?" the third asked aloud, clenching his fists. "I was just about to pass the third trial. The reward for the third trial was Moon Soul Lotus. Such a precious herb... Damn! It is gone now."

"Yes, I was in the middle of the fourth trial. I don’t even know what kind of reward I would have obtained after passing the trial. And now, we are out."

"Could it be that someone else obtained the inheritance, and so everyone was forcefully sent out?"

Just as they talked about this, they turned toward the monument and saw Emrys sitting there cross-legged. Emrys was quiet and his expression was calm.

Though none of them said it, an uneasy realization was beginning to settle in their hearts.

’Could it be that this human obtained the inheritance?’

How is this possible? He didn’t even enter the inheritance. Even if he had entered, he should have been going through only the first or second trial. After all, he would have entered much later after them.

The five of them could not think why they were forcefully sent out.
