Walker Of The Blue Sky

Chapter 344: Ch 344: A Coffin?

Chapter 344: Ch 344: A Coffin?

Emrys stood frozen, his eyes fixed on the ancient words now on the temple wall.

How can he not be surprised?

It was too much.

He could not help but recall what Ling Xiaolong told him years ago. Ling Xiaolong told him that his final destination was already fixed. No matter how he walks the path, he will eventually reach where Ling Xiaolong wants him to arrive. Along the way, he would also face many events that have already been arranged for him.

It seems Ling Xiaolong was not lying at all.

But this feeling of being in someone else’s control was not good. It seems he has never been able to walk out of Ling Xiaolong’s grasp from the very start.

However, it has to be said he was shocked to learn Ling Xiaolong is an entity that has been there from the very beginning of time.

Just what kind of ancient being is he?

Moreover, what exactly does Ling Xiaolong want from him?

There was also Inked Tale Omniverse. He knew about this too, but not in detail.

It doesn’t matter though, at least not for now. What matters right now is finding the remains of this faceless Primordial Ancestor’s disciple.

Come to think of it, it didn’t take long for Emrys to guess that the person who established the village and created the temple was the Primordial Ancestor’s disciple.

According to the Primordial Ancestor, he cultivated the way of stars, and this village is said to be blessed by stars. Even fools could say that these two are related.

What he could not understand was how her disciple died when he was so powerful. Why did he marry a mortal girl? Why did he stop all Soul Masters from coming or paying attention to this village? Why does he want all the villagers to stay mortal?

Many questions were unanswered, at least for the time being.

Then there was the gemstone. It was actually prepared for him by Ling Xiaolong. Moreover, this gemstone, in reality, is a key, a key to witness an ’extreme’.

What is this ’extreme’?

Perhaps, he would know only after witnessing it.

But... why did Ling Xiaolong go through such roundabout measures? He could have simply given him the gemstone directly, or even through the Soulforge Prism Orb. Why did he have to let the Primordial Ancestor set such a test for him?

Thinking about looking for the remains of the Primordial Ancestor’s disciple gave Emrys a headache. Not to mention, he actually has to awaken him somehow.

If he is dead, how can he be awakened?

If he is not dead, then why did the old man say he died together with his wife?

Emrys breathed deeply and sighed.

Emrys thought about the hint given by Primordial Ancestor. She wanted him to look into each and every desert of Spiritarium.

In her eyes, he may succeed in finding her disciple’s remnants in the next hundred years.

But he didn’t want to stay in Spiritarium for that long.

Suddenly, Emrys recalled something. When he was looking at the Spiritarium from a God’s Perspective after separating from Serafina and others, he discovered a black desert. There, he had seen a massive Soul Beast Skeleton buried under the dunes that were taller than mountains.

As far as he could remember, there was an ancient monument standing at the Soul Beast’s heart. Some ancient words were written on this monument, but at that time, Emrys was unable to read them because that language was different from any he knew.

Now that he thought about it, those words were very similar to the Forgotten Language of Primodials.

If that place is truly where the remains of Primordial Ancestor’s disciple are, then he was truly too lucky to have discovered that place so early on.

Emrys immediately decided to visit that place first. Perhaps, that place is truly where Primordial Ancestor’s disciple is buried.

But...

Even if he discovered that person’s remains, so what?

How would he awaken it?

Emrys had zero idea. However, it doesn’t matter. The first thing to do is to discover the remains. Only then would he think about what to do next.

This letter had truly given him a shock.

After digesting all the content recorded on the wall, Emrys finally shifted his eyes. He turned and looked at the old man, who was kowtowing in front of a stone block.

This stone block was completely blue. Its material was unknown, but Emrys could see thousands of divine runes, runes similar to what he had comprehended from the Ascension Pool, engraved on the stone block.

"A stone coffin?"

Emrys frowned.

Because he was very familiar with divine runes, it took him just an instant to understand that these runes were there to preserve whatever was placed inside.

Looking at the stone block again, Emrys found that its shape and size, and the hollow space inside all pointed towards one outcome—this stone block is actually a coffin, a very ancient coffin.

Emrys walked forward and stopped after arriving beside the old man.

The old man did not get up. Instead, he kept kowtowing again and again.

With every kowtow, he would stop for a minute or two and recite something before kowtowing again.

’Is he performing some sort of ritual?’ Emrys was not sure, but this seemed to be the case.

Shaking his head, Emrys waited by the old man’s side.

The old man stopped only after completing 60 kowtows. Emrys calculated and guessed that the old man must have kowtowed 40 times while he was still reading the letter left behind by the Primordial Ancestor.

In other words, the old man kowtowed a total of 100 times.

When the old man stood up, he didn’t look at Emrys. Instead, he directly said, "This stone block is a relic left behind by my village’s founder. Before his lifespan ended, he left behind a prophecy. He foreshadowed his awakening. He told us that there will come a day when he’ll come back to life."

"We villagers respect our founder, so our ancestors established a rule: anyone who enters the temple must kowtow a hundred times before the founder’s relic. Otherwise, they will be expelled from the village. Since then, no one is allowed to go against this rule."
