Chapter 313: Ch 313: Silver Ball
Chapter 313: Ch 313: Silver Ball
It was an unadorned plain filled with nothing but lifeless grass. For countless years, the sky here remained covered in dark clouds. Countless bolts of lightning would strike the land from time to time.
The deeper one goes, the more lightning bolts one would encounter.
This place is divided into four layers. Countless bolts of lightning strike once every minute in the second layer of this land. In the third layer, the frequency increases, with lightning striking once every few dozen seconds. As for the fourth layer, lightning ravages the ground relentlessly, never pausing even for a second.
The fourth layer is a place even Eternal Sky Soul Masters would not dare to cross. It is also the true ’Edge’ of this domain.
Currently, a lone figure was walking carefully inside the Second Layer of this destructive plain.
This lone figure was enchanting. Beautiful she was, her demonic nature was enough to keep people far away.
She was Serafina Gracia, one of Emrys’s childhood friends. As for the other friend, it was Rohan Bhattacharya. However, their friendship has long been torn by Rohan himself.
Emrys watched as Serafina endured the lightning strikes from time to time, but she never stopped. She seemed to have a destination in mind as she continued to walk deeper into the lightning region.
Emrys frowned. Now, he was powerful enough to see through all the restrictions and constraints of this universe. There was nothing that could remain hidden from him. Perhaps, only extremely high-leveled restrictions of Spiritarium can block his senses.
Emrys soon discovered that, unlike the wall of dark fog, this lightning region was not created by Divine Runes or outside power. It was born from nature itself. The dark clouds above had existed for countless years, gathering an endless amount of lightning. The land below had been struck so many times that it had long lost all signs of life, leaving only barren soil and lifeless grass.
He could see through everything in this place. He didn’t find anything special till the third layer.
In the third layer, he could see several herbs with lightning attributes. Due to the constant strikes of lightning bolts, the aura around them was full of destruction. These herbs were something that could not be found anywhere in the entire Celestial Horizon, let alone other worlds.
However, Emrys was sure Serafina was not here for these herbs. It is because he could see a small silver ball floating in the central area of the fourth layer. This silver ball seemed to be hiding an entire world full of lightning inside.
Emrys suddenly frowned as he looked at the silver ball. This silver ball gave him a very familiar sensation. He found this sensation very similar to the one when he first obtained the Space Disk.
Could it be...?!
Emrys was not sure, but he guessed something and his eyes lit up.
Now, he wanted to obtain this silver ball no matter what.
But, it seems that Serafina’s destination was also the fourth layer. Perhaps, her aim was also this silver ball.
Emrys started hesitating. After all, Serafina was his friend. Back then, she didn’t kill him after recognizing him. Although he didn’t really need it, she even gave him a chance to escape back then.
Now, as he watched her continue to walk forward without hesitation while enduring the relentless strikes from lightning bolts, he could not help but feel somewhat unsure.
Emrys watched as Serafina’s red hair danced in the wind, and her demonic eyes shone with a strange light. She had changed a lot over the years.
Watching her, Emrys finally decided something.
He disappeared, and the next moment he appeared, he was behind Serafina.
"I didn’t expect to see you here!"
"Who?"
Suddenly hearing a voice from behind her, Serafina was startled and hurriedly turned back, only to see a handsome figure standing. His silver hair and golden eyes shone faintly under the dim light, carrying a mysterious yet familiar aura.
For a moment, she stood frozen. Her mind went blank. That face... It had been so many years since she last saw him.
"Emrys...?" she murmured, almost unable to believe her eyes.
The man before her smiled slightly. His gaze was calm yet unreadable.
"It has been a long time, Serafina."
Only when Emrys greeted her again did Serafina come back to her senses. The startled expression on her face disappeared, replaced by a cold aura. The demonic light in her red eyes shone brightly but was soon suppressed by her.
"Indeed. It’s been a long time. How come you are here?"
"Just wandering around," Emrys smiled and walked forward, stopping to stand shoulder to shoulder with her.
At that moment, Serafina noticed something strange. The lightning bolts were no longer striking down.
Why?
She frowned and looked around, only to witness a breathtaking scene. The lightning had not actually stopped. It was still falling from the sky, but midway, the space itself seemed to twist and shift. Instead of hitting the ground near them, the bolts were redirected elsewhere, striking far away from this place.
Her eyes widened slightly. She could not help but marvel.
"Is this your doing?"
She couldn’t help but ask.
Emrys nodded but didn’t offer any explanation.
He observed her quietly for a moment before speaking. "It seems you’re struggling to control your demonic nature. But your effort to resist it and not lose yourself completely is commendable. I can help you if you want?"
Serafina didn’t say anything.
It is a known fact that when a Soul Master transforms into a Soul Demon, they lose their humanity and become creatures of demonic nature. Then they were driven by instinct and destruction. Their emotions twist and their thirst for power grows uncontrollable.
Most Soul Demons completely surrender to their demonic nature. They forget their past selves and always embrace endless slaughter.
However, rare cases exist where a transformed Soul Demon retains a part of its original self.
It seems Serafina was one such case. Though she has become a Soul Demon, her eyes still carry traces of her former self.
