Chapter 243: Ch 243: Powerful Old Man

Emrys didn’t react much when he heard them saying that he was indeed from a Supreme Family.

After all, his mother had already told him the truth before leaving that she and his father both came from two extremely powerful families.

There are five supreme families in total and all of them together had established the Federation that is currently ruling the Infinite Soul Star.

Talking about this, Emrys suddenly started suspecting that the Federation controls not only the Infinite Soul Star but also the other three worlds. After all, the Celestial Horizon is connected with four worlds including the Infinite Soul Star. Those five families are the supreme families in the Celestial Horizon. Emrys, Nikolai, and Jortis talked for a while and naturally got closer. He learned several things about the Celestial Horizon from them.

Nikolai and Jortis were already impressed by Emrys after witnessing his strength. They didn’t mind becoming friends with him.

The value of Soul Beasts’ corpses was high and no one wanted to waste them, but none of the people present on the battlefield dared to move the corpses, fearing Emrys. A seed of fright has already grown in their hearts after witnessing the massacre caused by Emrys.

Nikolai asked what Emrys wanted to do with the corpses. He is a wandering merchant and it is obvious he approached Emrys first because he saw the benefit.

Emrys didn’t mind and told Nikolai to do whatever he wanted, he didn’t need the corpses of these beasts. Anyone who wants can take them away.

Only when Emrys gave his words that people start looting the ground filled with corpses.

Later, after clearing the battlefield, Emrys decided to follow Nikolai and Jortis to Star Lake City.

Nikolai also happily offered to show Emrys around the city with Jortis.

As they walked away, the landscape changed from a vast battlefield to a more lively area. Soon, the tall walls of Star Lake City came into view. The city’s boundary walls were grand and appeared to be built from large stones. The gate of the city was wide open and many people were entering and leaving, creating a lively scene.

When they reached the gate, Emrys noticed the city guards standing alert. They were clad in shining armor and held long spears. But even though the guards were well-equipped, they did not stop the people from entering the city. Everyone walked freely through the gate, and it was clear that Star Lake City welcomed all kinds of people.

A wide grin appeared on Nikolai’s face when he noticed Emrys’s gaze at the guards, and said, "Brother Emrys, don’t worry, as long as we don’t cause trouble, no one will bother us. There are no restrictions in the city."

Emrys nodded and followed Nikolai and Jortis through the gate.

As they entered the city, a completely different world opened up in front of Emrys. He saw that the streets were wide and filled with people. Merchants were calling out to customers, offering all kinds of goods. The market area, which was just a short walk from the gate, was especially busy. Stalls lined the streets, displaying strange herbs, shiny weapons, and glowing stones.

"The market here is famous for its variety," Jortis explained. "You can find all the things here that are normally extremely hard to find anywhere. In fact, you can even find treasures from all four worlds of Celestial Horizon."

Emrys nodded and looked around with interest. He saw a stall selling glowing crystals, and the merchant was explaining how each crystal could store energy for Soul Masters. Another stall had potions, with the vendor claiming that they could heal injuries instantly. People were bargaining, trying to get the best deal, while others were simply strolling through the market, taking in the sights and sounds.

"Ah, there is my friend’s stall!" Nikolai said suddenly as he pointed to a small booth at the corner of the market. "He sells rare artifacts. Maybe we’ll find something interesting."

Emrys followed Nikolai and Jortis to the stall, where an old man sat behind a table filled with strange objects. Some looked like weapons, others like pieces of armor, but all of them gave off a mysterious aura.

"Hey old man, I am back with one more friend," Nikolai waved his hand at the old man and then introduced Emrys to the old man.

The old man laughed and said, "I didn’t expect you to make friends with an Advanced Celestial Spirit Soul Master. It is a little unexpected."

"An Advanced Celestial Spirit Soul Master?"

Both Nikolai and Jortis already knew Emrys was powerful, but didn’t expect him to be an advanced Celestial Spirit Soul Master.

Emrys was surprised to see this old man. Shaking his head, he smiled and muttered in a low voice, "I also didn’t expect to meet an Eternal Sky Soul Master randomly not long after entering this city."

"What?"

This time, both Nikolai and Jortis were shocked. They stepped back and looked at the old man. Then shaking his head, Jortis and Emrys said together at once, "Impossible. How can this old man be an Eternal Sky Soul Master? You must be kidding!"

They just could not bring themselves to believe that the old man they were friends with was an Eternal Sky Soul Master.

Emrys did not speak anymore. He didn’t try to make them believe him. He simply smiled and picked up a small dagger. The dagger’s blade was shining faintly in the light.

"Careful with that," the old man warned with a smile. "It may look small, but it is very sharp, and has a curse attribute. Just a small cut and you’ll be cursed. Only those with extremely strong Soul Force can handle this dagger."

Among so many weapons, Emrys grabbed the dagger only because he sensed the power of a curse on it. This curse could at most cause a Soul Master to feel dizzy and lose their eyesight for a few seconds, but this much time is enough to kill during battle.

Emrys put the dagger down carefully. He was not looking to buy anything yet, but he appreciated seeing rare items up close. Among all the artifacts present, the dagger was the most valuable in Emrys’s eyes because of its curse attribute.

Other than the dagger, there were a few more artifacts that caught his attention. Aside from them, nothing here was worth his time.

"What is a powerful person like you doing here, selling artifacts?"

When Emrys got closer to the old man while browsing through the artifacts, he asked a question that he was curious about.

"Just doing a job," the old man responded with a smile. Then he suddenly thought of something and said, "As far as I can tell, a person with your strength does not usually like to mingle with people like those two, mainly that little fatty. Why are you with them?"

"There is no specific reason. I just get along with them well!"

Emrys smiled and moved to another location. He no longer had any intention of talking with the old man.

The old man also didn’t say anything.

After a while, the three of them left and then continued walking through the market. Nikolai was introducing Emrys to every little thing about the Star Lake City. On the other hand, Jortis was just accompanying them with a smile.

While strolling, Emrys noticed the high energy of every person in Star Lake City. Despite the dangers outside the city walls, people here seemed happy and busy.

Yes, they were truly busy!

The security of this city was not weak at all.

Aside from groups of Soul Masters who pass by every now and then, there were also thousands of tiny drones flying in the sky, keeping an eye on every part of the city.

Emrys also arrived at the platform where teleportation formations were located. He learned from Nikolai and Jortis that these formations were connected to various cities, and every city was big and tightly guarded.

"Do you know if any of these formations could teleport me to the Ice Lord Valley?" Emrys suddenly turned to the two of them and questioned.

Before parting ways with Emrys, his mother told him that she was going to the Ice Lord Valley. His father is waiting for her there.

According to his mother, Ice Lord Valley is a free place situated at the edge of the Celestial Horizon.

When Emrys came, he landed directly on the battlefield. He had no idea where the battlefield was located or the location of this Star Lake City.

"Ice Lord Valley?"

Nikolai and Jortis were surprised, not expecting Emrys to ask about the Ice Lord Valley.

"Although the Ice Lord Valley is located at the edge of Celestial Horizon, it is the territory of the Rosefield Family. I don’t think you should go to that place. It is very dangerous!"

Nikolai said and Jortis nodded, obviously agreeing with him.
