Chapter 229: Ch 229: Nightshade Tears
Chapter 229: Ch 229: Nightshade Tears
╠ Infinite Soul Star ╣
Space rippled with distorted energy, twisting and bending as it was being torn apart. From the center of that chaotic ripple, a crack formed that slowly widened.
A few seconds later, a figure walked out through that crack. This figure was like a shadow cutting through the light, slowly revealing his real face.
It was Emrys.
As Emrys’s feet touched the ground, he glanced around. His sharp eyes started to scan the surroundings, and very soon, he raised his brows in surprise. It is because he found himself standing in his home. This place looked exactly as he remembered it, but something felt different. It was mysteriously clean and clear, as if it had been untouched by time or dust, even though no one supposedly had set foot here for many years.
The air was calm, but there was a strange sense of familiarity and peace that wrapped around him. It was as though time had stood still in this place, preserving every detail, giving him a very familiar sensation that brought a strange calmness to his heart.
As he looked around, his gaze fell upon someone standing not far from him.
Although he already knew Elysia to be there, when he really saw her, his breath caught in his throat. He couldn’t help but keep looking at her for a few more seconds.
Elysia stood tall and graceful. Her presence was calm yet filled with power. She had always been a mysterious figure in Emrys’s eyes. He had not spent much time with her, but he knew she was horribly powerful, and this feeling just got stronger.
A few years ago, Emrys himself was too weak to truly gauge her strength. Now that he was nearing the step where he could be called one of the strongest people in a Cosmic Field, he could finally feel the strength that Elysia possessed. Just her presence made Emrys feel that he was still like an ant in front of her.
"You’re back," she finally said, her voice soft but firm, as though it had been waiting for this moment for a long time.
Emrys, still surprised, managed to respond, "Why... Why did you take so long to call me back?"
This was Emrys’s first question. He had been waiting far too long for this day to arrive. In the end, he had even given up hope of being summoned back to the Infinite Soul Star by Elysia. But when he saw the mission to activate the Ascension Gate, he saw a glimmer of hope for returning to his world. Just as he was about to use the Eternal Token to teleport to the Infinite Soul Star, Elysia unexpectedly summoned him back.
Elysia kept observing for a while before nodding her head in satisfaction, saying, "You’ve grown far too strong than I anticipated."
This was not the answer Emrys wanted from Elysia. He was about to speak when Elysia spoke again, "I actually never thought for you to grow so strong in such a short period of time. Although I didn’t tell you, I sent you to that fragmented Cosmic World for five years. Five years in that world is equivalent to 10 years in this world. In other words, you’ve been away from the Infinite Soul Star for ten years."
"The chances of survival in that world are truly too low. However, you not only survived, you even became an advanced Supreme Cosmic Master within five years which shows you must have obtained a great opportunity and the legacy of an extremely powerful expert."
"The most unexpected thing is that your soul cultivation has also increased. You have become a Mystical Mist Soul Master. Truly amazing!"
Emrys felt a mix of emotions upon learning that ten years had passed on the Infinite Soul Star. He reflected and calculated that, even when not counting the five years he had spent in the virtual world, he had still spent around eight or nine years in the fragmented Cosmic World, Chaos, and Eternal Paradise.
Had he not gone to the chaos and Eternal Paradise, he would have to endure the loss of five years.
"So, what now?" Emrys asked.
"Here, take it," Elysia handed Emrys a small bottle containing three drops of sparkling liquid. Strangely, the drops did not merge together. Instead, they remained in three distinct, separated positions. Furthermore, each drop was constantly vibrating as if infused with some mysterious energy.
"What is this?"
Emrys frowned, not knowing what these three drops of liquid were.
"No matter the situation, when you feel that you will certainly die and death is inevitable, swallow these three drops of liquid together. They will trigger a profound transformation. It’ll not only save your life, but it’ll also grant you three distinct but interconnected abilities while raising your cultivation by one entire realm in every cultivation system you are cultivating."
Glancing at the three drops of liquid, Elysia sighed with emotion and said in a low voice, "This is no ordinary liquid; they are Nightshade Tears. Consider it your reward for enduring the tough training for the past five years."
Emrys stared at the shimmering liquid, realizing just how valuable this reward truly was.
"Now, tell me. What have you become?" Elysia suddenly arrived inches away from Emrys and started observing him.
Emrys understood her question. He was no longer a human. His appearance, although human, was still vastly different. Her question was simple. Her question was simple: she wanted to know what race he had become.
"Even I don’t know yet," Emrys sighed in regret. Indeed, he has no idea about his own race. Even his information gave him no clue.
Elysia raised her brows, observed Emrys’s expression, and then said, "What are you planning to do now that you have come back?"
A cold glint flashed in Emrys’s eyes. He didn’t hesitate to answer, "I’ll destroy all my enemies before heading to the Celestial Horizon!"
"Celestial Horizon, huh?" Elysia nodded, thought for a while, and said, "I think you should head for Gale Ridge City in the Phoenix Cry Kingdom. That place is about to hold a grand auction. You may find something valuable there."
Elysia’s voice was filled with mystery, but Emrys could tell she really wanted him to go there.
While he was still thinking, she spoke again, "Also, I’m leaving this world today. I’ll look for you again after you enter the Spiritarium."
.....
A few days later...
A group of three people arrived in Gale Ridge City.
According to Caruso, the Phoenix Glade Sect was located inside Gale Ridge City, and the thing "Lord Hanzu" was looking for was going to appear in the auction house called ’Gale Pavilion’.
The Gale Ridge City was the largest trading center in the entire Phoenix Cry Kingdom. Although the Gale Pavilion was located in Gale Ridge City, it was still owned by the Phoenix Glade Sect.
Laura Ricci had an extremely solemn expression on her face. She more or less knew about what Caruso had said, but she had never mentioned it in front of Andrea Greco.
"Laura, do you want to say something?" Andrea Greco glanced at Laura, who was beside him, and saw that her expression was a little strange.
"Hmm?" Hearing Andrea Greco calling his name, Laura was startled.
Laura’s expression changed slightly. Facing Andrea and Caruso’s gazes, she felt a little uncomfortable and timidly said, "I think... No, nothing. Let’s go!"
Seeing that Laura was not ready to say whatever was on her mind, Andrea and Caruso exchanged glances before shaking their heads. They respected Laura so they didn’t ask anything again.
At the moment, the people walking on the streets were like flowing water. It was noon right now and the inside of Gale Ridge City was bustling with activity. There were countless experts coming from all directions.
This scene could be seen from outside the city.
Andrea, Laura, and Caruso have already arrived at the entrance of the Gale Ridge City. If they wanted to participate in the auction, they could only go deeper into the Gale Ridge City.
"Halt!"
"Take out your Identity Cards and ten Soul Crystals each. Only then can you enter the city"
When the three of them arrived at the entrance of the city, the guards at the door immediately took action to block them. Their faces were cold and emotionless.
The Gale Ridge City was an important place in the entire Phoenix Cry Kingdom, so the security here was also extremely tight. Moreover, it was a place where all the big shots traded. Naturally, the kingdom would pay special attention to the people who entered the Gale Ridge City, as this was also a form of responsibility.
Andrea’s brows twitched and he turned to look at Caruso. For some reason, his and Laura’s identities could not be revealed, but Caruso was different.
Caruso saw that Andrea was looking at him. Smiling, he took a big step forward and with a wave of his hand, a red badge appeared before everyone.
"The Blue Phoenix Token?"
When the guards saw the token, they cried out loud in surprise, attracting the public’s attention.
