Chapter 227: Ch 227: The War
Chapter 227: Ch 227: The War
During the past few years, Emrys never used the "Abyss Flow" ability, so no one knew what he was capable of doing. Since he wants to rule this world, he knows he can’t make use of any of his abilities that are related to the abyss. Otherwise, his own subordinates would do everything to kill him.
After all, abyssals are enemies to all.
According to Emrys’s orders, his subordinates prepared for battle and set out for war. Very soon, two huge armies of countless Cosmic Apprentices gathered in a valley named Crimson Abyss Valley.
The word "Abyss" in the name Crimson Abyss Valley came from the fact that a war was fought here in ancient times against abyssals where blood flew like water. This place was forbidden ground for all the people of this world due to its treacherous terrain and eerie blood-red skies.
Yes, the sky above the Crimson Abyss Valley was dark red, as if it was a demonic eye looking down at everyone who came to this place.
The war was decided to be fought here due to two reasons. Neither Emrys nor the top forces of this world wanted to destroy natural terrains and living atmospheres. After all, during a war, not to mention a village, countless cities, and even countries end up being destroyed completely.
In order to reduce the casualties and losses, the war was decided to be fought in the Crimson Abyss Valley.
When the two armies gathered, the tension in the air was palpable. As the armies faced each other, the silence before the storm amplified the intensity. Emrys stood at the forefront of his forces, his gaze cold and unwavering. He knew this battle would determine the future of his reign.
The opposing army was led by one of the Supreme Cosmic Apprentices. Behind him was an army at least triple in size than Emrys’s army.
However, today, no one is afraid because everyone knows that the first to show fear would be the first to die.
As the wind howled through the valley, carrying with it the distant echoes of past battles, Emrys raised his sword high. He then called out, his voice resonating across the valley, "Today, we will fight with our bodies and souls, and carve our names into the stars. For this world, for glory, for power, for victory—charge!"
The moment Emrys gave the command, both armies charged at each other like two giant waves crashing together in a violent storm. The sound of hundreds of footsteps echoed through the valley as the ground shook under the force of the army’s march. In an instant, the silence of Crimson Abyss Valley was replaced by the chaotic noise of battle.
"Clang~"
"Bang!" "Bang!"
"BOOM!"
Swords clashed with shields, spears pierced through the air, and explosions from powerful Cosmic Skills lit up the dark red sky. The valley that was quiet until now was immediately filled with the screams of the wounded and the shouts of warriors. The battle that changed the course of this world and completely flipped the coin of ruler had begun.
On Emrys’s side, Cosmic Apprentices unleashed their Cosmic Skills, filling the battlefield with a mix of radiant energy and fierce power. One soldier summoned a blade of pure fire, slashing through the enemy lines, while another called forth a wave of lightning that crackled and zapped, electrocuting anyone who dared to come near. Explosions of bright light followed every clash, as skills clashed against one another in a deadly display of force.
The opposing army was no less skilled. Their Cosmic Apprentices summoned walls of earth to block attacks, while others hurled massive spears of ice into Emrys’s forces. Cosmic Skills in all their terrifying forms were being used, and for every warrior who fell, another would take their place, determined to strike back even harder.
One of Emrys’s soldiers, a young Cosmic Apprentice with a glowing sword fought bravely at the front. He swung his sword with precision, cutting down enemy after enemy. But just as he turned to attack again, a bolt of lightning from the opposing side struck him, sending him to the ground, lifeless. His comrades barely had time to mourn before they, too, were forced to continue fighting, the battle leaving no room for hesitation or sorrow.
The sky was filled with flashes of light as Cosmic Skills collided in midair, creating explosions that shook the very ground beneath their feet. Some warriors used skills that turned the air into sharp blades, slicing through armor and skin alike, while others summoned creatures made of pure energy, which charged into the enemy, tearing them apart.
On the ground, the clash of weapons was constant. Metal struck metal as warriors fought in close combat. The clanging sound was deafening and the scent of blood filled the air. For every swing of a sword or thrust of a spear, someone fell, and the bodies began to pile up. The valley floor was soaked with blood. Corpses and broken weapons are scattered everywhere on the ground.
In the center of the battle, Emrys himself fought with unmatched skill. He moved like a dragon. His blade cut through all the enemies that came across him with ease. His skills and strength were on a different level from everyone else. With a wave of his hand, he sent blasts of energy that knocked down dozens of enemies at once. His eyes burned with strong resolution and willpower as he fought his way toward the enemy’s leader, the Supreme Cosmic Apprentice.
On the other side, the enemy’s leader, a powerful Supreme Cosmic Apprentice, fought just as fiercely. He commanded the battlefield while fighting. His presence alone was enough to send shivers down the spine of his enemies. His skills were also devastating, killing many people with every single attack.
But even with that kind of power, he alone was far from enough to decide the victory of the battle. All he has to do is fight while staying alive. It’ll be better if he could kill Emrys. No matter what, he couldn’t die. Because once he dies, his army will lose its will to battle. At that time, they’ll submit to Emrys.
The battle raged on for what felt like hours. The noise of weapons clashing, people shouting, and the constant explosion of Cosmic Skills never seemed to stop. Soldiers on both sides were falling, and the valley was slowly becoming a graveyard for the warriors who fought there.
Yet, even as bodies fell, no one gave up. They fought with everything they had, pushing through pain, exhaustion, and fear.
By the time the sun began to set, the battlefield was a chaotic mix of smoke, fire, and the bodies of the fallen. The already eerie and dark valley was now a scene of destruction, but the battle was far from over.
Both armies were locked in a deadly struggle. Each side was determined to kill the enemies and win this battle.
And in the midst of it all, Emrys was currently fighting the Supreme Cosmic Apprentice, the leader of the opposing forces.
The air around them crackled with energy as they faced each other. The Supreme Cosmic Apprentice swung his sword and a wave of fiery energy shot toward Emrys, wanting to swallow him whole and burn him to ashes. But Emrys was quick. He dodged to the side and sent a blast of cold energy from his hand. This cold energy belonged to his third Soul Mark.
"Bang!"
The fire clashed with the ice, creating steam that filled the air around them.
They moved fast. With every clash, their figure would blur and disappear before appearing at another place where they collide again before disappearing, repeating the same process again and again.
Emrys’s blade and the Supreme Cosmic Apprentice’s sword were clashing with a loud "clang" as sparks flew everywhere. Emrys’s eyes were sharp and focused. He knew this was the most important fight. If he could defeat the leader, the enemy’s army would fall apart.
Unlike him, the other party was an intermediate Supreme Cosmic Apprentice. Emrys was taking his time to familiarize himself with his own strength while gauging the strength of this enemy.
After a few minutes of clash, when he felt it was enough, he appeared right in front of the opponent and slashed, directly cutting off his head.
This time, instead of relying on speed, he teleported. He was so fast in his action that the Supreme Cosmic Apprentice was unable to react, and his head was decapitated.
Then he held the opponent’s, appeared in the sky above the battlefield, and shouted loudly, stopping the battle and showing the opposing party’s leader’s head to them.
The morels of the opposing army immediately fell and most of them lost the will to continue the battle. All of them submitted to Emrys one after another very soon.
A few who still wanted to fight the battle were killed. Emrys showed no mercy to his enemies.
Just like that, the war was won by him.
The battle was over, but Emrys was still far from controlling this world properly. He still needed to take care of all the top forces of this world and bring them down.
Thus, after a few days, he set his sight on one of the top forces of this world and went to greet them with a blade in hand.
