Chapter 179: Ch 179: Supreme Inheritance

"You are back!" Xu Ling and Cheng Xiao smiled at Emrys.

Emrys nodded at them and greeted Anzo before shifting his gaze to look at Chief Bohu and asking, "Chief Bohu, I discovered some ancient words somewhere inside the border. Do you know what these words say?"

Saying that, he controlled the Cosmic Energy within his body to write the words he had seen on the stone pillar next to the Bronze Gate in the cave. Emrys wrote these words on the ground.

Not just Chief Bohu, even Anzo revealed a shocked expression when they saw these words.

Anzo became agitated and could not help but ask, "Emrys, are you alright? Where did you see these words?"

Emrys didn’t reply to Anzo.

Anzo also seemed to understand he asked something he should not have asked. Why would Emrys tell him where he saw these words?

Chief Bohu patted Anzo on the shoulder and told him to calm down. Then he turned to Emrys and said, "Although we, the natives of this world, no longer use the ancient language in our daily lives, we still retain knowledge of it. Everyone is required to study the ancient language to preserve our history and not forget our past."

"The words you wrote say:- Beware, O adventurer, of the secrets entombed beyond this gate. The vitality that seethes here is not for the Weak of Heart. Those who dare to enter must know this: the strength of your life force shall be tested, for here, the boundaries between Life and Decay are blurred. Those who are unprepared shall be consumed by the very vitality they seek, their souls and bodies bound to the ever-growing vegetation. Proceed with caution, for the price of ignorance is high and the consequences dire."

"Yet, should you prove yourself worthy, should you dare to open this gate and endure the trial, you shall be rewarded beyond measure. The supreme inheritance awaits the brave: A Legacy of Power, Knowledge, and mastery beyond the comprehension of the ordinary. Proceed with caution, for the price of ignorance is high, but the rewards for those who triumph are boundless."

No wonder!

Emrys took a deep breath. It turned out that beyond the bronze gate lay an inheritance ground left behind by the ancient beings. The vitality he felt there was indeed not for the weak. Even he, with his current strength that was very close to Cosmic Apprentice Level, was not enough. He was unprepared and was almost consumed by the vitality present inside the cave. No wonder those mosses started to grow on his body. Had he not escaped, who knows what would have happened?

As the words itself said, "Proceed with caution, for the price of ignorance is high and the consequences dire."

"What kind of inheritance can I obtain after opening the gate and passing the trial?" Emrys could not help mutter.

Chief Bohu took a deep breath and muttered, as if talking to himself, "I think this inheritance is not ordinary. After all, the author of these words dares to call it the Supreme Inheritance."

Emrys nodded and agreed with Chief Bohu’s words. It is no wonder Anzo totally lost his cool after reading these words.

Finally, Chief Bohu gave Emrys a serious look and warned, "You should be extremely cautious if you decide to enter that inheritance ground. The way these words are written is in a style so ancient that it goes back to the very beginning of our Cosmic Civilization. The words are archaic. They are so old-fashioned that they seem to reflect an era when the Cosmic Cultivation System was still developing, far from the sophisticated and advanced we had before the war against those unknown entities that destroyed our entire civilization."

"You can even say that this early style of writing is nearly as old as the founding of our cosmic civilization. It also indicates that the inheritance within is profoundly significant. After all, such ancient inheritances often hold secrets and powers that have been lost to time, waiting for those truly worthy to obtain them."

Emrys shook his head, not understanding most of what Chief Bohu spoke. In fact, it is not just Emrys, even Xu Ling and Cheng Xiao found it very difficult to understand.

"Wait a minute!" Xu Ling interjected, unable to contain her curiosity. "Since you mentioned that these words date back to the time when Cosmic Cultivation was still in its early stages, why are you suggesting that this inheritance is profoundly significant? If it’s from such an old and basic period, wouldn’t it be less advanced than what we know today? I mean, wouldn’t early inheritances be more primitive compared to what Cosmic Cultivation had at its peak?"

This time, instead of Chief Bohu, Anzo spoke, "Even we don’t know the answer. We are taught by our ancestors that if we ever find something that seems to have appeared in the early stages of our Cosmic Civilization, then we should treat it with high importance. As for the reason, we have no idea. We only know that the early period of Cosmic civilization was not ordinary, there seems to be some kind of secret hidden. If you truly want to know about that time and those secrets, maybe you’ll have to aim for Level 3 areas. As far as I can tell, you won’t be able to find answers even in Level 2 areas. Only Level 3 areas where Cosmic Apprentices and above live can solve this mystery."

Level 3 area, huh?

Emrys now already knew that the Level 1 area was where First Step to Seventh Step Warriors lived. Level 2 area is filled with Eighth Step to Twelfth Step Warriors. But it doesn’t mean weaker warriors do not live there. They do, but their value is not considerable if they are not from major forces.

As for Level 3 areas, it is where Cosmic Apprentices can be found.

In terms of danger level, one can say that the border between Level 1 and Level 2 areas is more dangerous than the Level 2 area due to the presence of powerful natives. Level 2 areas have more natives compared to Level 1 areas, and they are also much bigger.

Emrys asked a few more questions before resting for a day in the tribe. The next day, he left the Celesto Tribe with Xu Ling and Cheng Xiao.
