Chapter 166: Ch 166: Tempering The Body
Chapter 166: Ch 166: Tempering The Body
As the space-attributed energy continued to infuse his bones, the pain escalated to an unbearable level. Emrys felt as though his entire skeletal structure was being crushed and then pulled apart. The space energy’s potent force pushed deeper into the marrow, causing every nerve in his body to scream in agony. His vision blurred as the intensity of the pain threatened to overwhelm him.
Ugh~
Emrys clenched his fists, groaning as he tried to endure the overwhelming pain. His knuckles turned white as he struggled to remain conscious. It felt like molten metal was being poured through his veins that went directly to burn his bones, scorching every inch of his being. The sensation of his bones hardening was like shards of glass embedding themselves in his flesh.
His breath soon turned into ragged gasps. Each inhale was a battle against the searing pain he was enduring. The edges of his vision darkened, and for a moment, he felt himself slipping into unconsciousness.
"I can’t stop here. I have to hold on!"
Emrys gritted his teeth and with a supreme effort of will, he held onto the faint threads of awareness, refusing to let go. The torment of scorching pain was relentless. It was like a constant barrage that tested his endurance to its limits.
Finally, just as he thought he could bear no more, the pain began to ebb. The energy settled within his bones, leaving behind a profound sense of strength and resilience. Emrys gasped for air, his body trembling from the ordeal, but he had endured, his bones now tempered and fortified by the space-attributed energy.
However, just when he took a deep breath, the next phase of the Body Tempering started. The space-attributed energy was directed toward his blood.
This was a delicate process. After all, blood flows throughout a person’s entire body, nourishing every cell.
The space-attributed energy began to merge with his blood, imbuing it with a unique vitality. Nonetheless, as the energy started fusing with his blood, Emrys felt like his blood had started boiling.
"Ahhh..."
He could not help but scream in pain and almost fell to the ground, twitching non-stop. Fortunately, he bit his lower lips and held on by his sheer will.
As the energy mingled with his blood, Emrys felt a different kind of scorching pain which was less sharp but more pervasive. A burning sensation once again spread through his veins. It was as if his blood was being boiled and then cooled, over and over again. Emrys felt a warmth spreading through him as his blood absorbed the space-attributed energy, becoming more potent. His blood vessels which had been already strengthened from previous tempering, easily handled the increased energy flow, but not without discomfort. His heart was beating fast and loudly. Every heartbeat sent a pulse of heat and pain coursing through his body.
As the energy infused his blood, Emrys felt a subtle change. His blood seemed to pulse with a new but very familiar power. It carried the essence of space within it.
Although Emrys was enduring a scorching pain, he could not help but smile. The corner of his mouth curved up, but this curve gave his face a distorted expression.
Anyway, after feeling the transformation within his body, Emrys knew that this change would not only enhance his physical abilities but also improve his control over spatial abilities. Despite the pain, he knew the process was making him stronger.
The entire process of tempering bones and blood took Emrys three entire days. For the three days continuously, Emrys remained focused, enduring the pain with a stoic determination. He did not dare to let his guard down even for a moment. He maintained a steady flow of space-attributed energy, ensuring it was evenly distributed throughout his body. He knew that rushing could lead to uneven tempering, which might cause problems later. As he worked, he could feel his connection to the Walker of the Blue Sky deepening. The Soul Mark seemed to glow brighter, resonating with the energy he was absorbing.
Finally, as the last bit of the space-attributed energy settled within him, Emrys opened his eyes. The pain subsided, replaced by a feeling of invigorating strength. His bones felt solid and unbreakable, and his blood coursed with a vibrant energy.
Emrys stood up, feeling the changes in his body. He felt lighter, as if the space energy had made him more attuned to the very fabric of space. He knew there was still much to learn and many more ways to grow, but this was a significant milestone that he had crossed just now. With the tempering of his bones and blood, he had completed the first round of body tempering entirely for the first time. He was now more resilient and powerful than ever before. Despite the pain he had endured, the results were worth it.
Most importantly, another core appeared right beside the Cosmic Essence Core. Emrys, as a Soul Master, already knew that when a Soul Master completes the first round of body tempering using the attributed energy of their Soul Mark, a dwelling forms within their body that houses the attributed energy for personal use. This dwelling was called the Mystic Energy Core.
However, unlike the Cosmic Essence Core, there were no mysterious patterns on the surface of the Mystic Energy Core.
Emrys immediately looked inside the Mystic Energy Core. Unlike the Cosmic Essence Core that almost replicated a world inside, the Mystic Energy Core was full of void filled with darkness. Right in the middle of this darkness, there was a shining silver whirlpool. This was a whirlpool of Space-attributed Energy that officially converted into Space Force.
There was a very low amount of Space Force inside this silver whirlpool, but Emrys could manipulate and use this Space Force as he wished without any trouble. Controlling this Space Force was no different than controlling Soul Force.
Aside from the presence of Mystic Energy Core, Emrys could also feel his body has gotten closer to the Space itself. Although very faint and minute, he could still sense the space around him.
Feeling the change within his body, Emrys could not help but look at his information panel.
"What the..."
