Walker Of The Blue Sky

Chapter 162: Ch 162: Terrifying Lungfish

Chapter 162: Ch 162: Terrifying Lungfish

The abyssal successfully evaded the Scaled Lungfish’s attack. Most importantly, the abyssal’s weapon touched the scales of the Lungfish, leaving behind a scratch as well as sparks of fiery light that disappeared as soon as they appeared.

"Roar!"

When the Scaled Lunfish saw the abyssal’s attack landing on its body, its expression turned grim. It roared at the abyssal and the next second, a frightening aura erupted from its body. A terrifying pressure descended that instantly caused several cracks to appear on the ground.

The Scaled Lungfish floated horizontally on the surface of the lake. It glared at the abyssal with its malicious eyes.

"Roar!"

It opened its mouth and gave a terrifying roar again. At the same time, sparkling blue particles of light started to gather in front of its huge mouth that was wide open. Very soon, a giant blue energy ball formed instantly.

Sua~

The next second, the blue energy ball was shot at the abyssal. The energy ball traveled at high speed, and in the blink of an eye, it arrived in front of the abyssal.

"F*ck!"

The abyssal’s expression changed entirely. He couldn’t evade it in time, so he cursed loudly and slashed his weapon at the ball energy ball. His weapon appeared to be a sword but was deformed and giving off an eerie sensation. The deformed blade glowed with sinister red light as it collided with the blue energy ball.

"Boom!"

An instant after the collision, explosions echoed throughout the entire lake and surrounding areas. Terrifying shockwaves swept over, bringing along a strong slap of water and wind.

The water in the lake gushed out, toppling the trees around it. The strong wind also showcased its fury and shattered countless trees into pieces. There was chaos everywhere.

"Bang!"

When the aftereffect of the collision subsided, a figure shot out and slammed onto the cracked ground, forming a man-shaped deep hole.

This figure was obviously the Abyssal. He was not the Scaled Lungfish’s match and got bitten up really badly. His body was riddled with wounds, and dark blood flowed across his body completely, giving him an even more sinister appearance. The abyssal had suffered serious internal and outer injuries.

"Why is this damn beast so powerful?" The abyssal found it unbelievable. He knew that he couldn’t win. He must be daydreaming when he thought he could easily take away the Nether Water Herb with a little effort and months of preparation. Realizing that he was not the Soul Beast’s match, he turned and started to run.

The Nether Water Herb was not important to him anymore; his life was. He would come and settle this beast another day!

Unfortunately, the Scaled Lungfish didn’t plan to let him go so easily. Its body was huge and it was originally a water creature, but that didn’t hinder its speed. It arrived in front of the abyssal in an instant.

"Move!"

The abyssal raged. The abyssal energy in his body erupted with maximum power. He seemed to have used some secret skill that increased his strength by at least 30%, but this as a result worsened his injuries.

The abyssal didn’t care about his injuries at the moment. His life was more important than anything else. He swung the deformed sword at the Scaled Lungfish, causing a sharp arc of light to flash.

"Boom!"

However, the sharp arc of light collided against the blue beam of light that was suddenly shot out of the Scaled Lungfish’s mouth.

A figure was thrown into the air from the center of the impact.

It was the abyssal!

"Bang!"

A deep hole appeared on the ground again. The abyssal lay in the hole with blood gushing out of his mouth. He was astonished and terrified.

This Scaled Lungfish is really a horrible beast. There is no way an Abyssal like him could have ended in such a sorry state even if he faced against a Cosmic Warrior. Unfortunately, Soul Beasts and Soul Cultivators can attack souls, and souls are weak points of Abyssal, mainly Abyssals like him who have yet to truly enter the upper ranks of Abyss.

The abyssal’s heart was filled with complaints and curses. He looked at the giant Scaled Lungfish that was floating above the lake’s surface. He seemed to sense contempt in the Lungfish’s eyes. He was being looked down on by an animal!

"Splurt!"

In the end, he vomited a mouthful of dark and stinking blood uncontrollably.

However, he had no intention of waiting for his death here. He struggled to get up and prepared to escape.

Unfortunately, a blue ray of light shot out of the Scaled Fish’s eyes and entered the Abyssal’s body.

Yes, the blue ray entered the Abyssal’s body instead of dealing major damage directly. That light appeared to be targeting something else.

Ahhhhh~

The Abyssal screamed loudly and fell to the ground, twitching uncontrollably.

Pain!

Inhuman pain!

He was suffering unbearable pain that originated directly from his body.

The previous blue ray of light shot by the Scaled Lungfish heavily injured the Abyssal’s soul.

On the other hand, the Scaled Beast was looking at the abyssal suffering with a mocking expression.

Emrys, who was observing everything from afar, finally used the Node Shift ability to go even farther away. He observed the entire battle between the Abyssal and the Scaled Lungfish. The abyssal did not gain an advantage even after unleashing a secret skill to increase his strength by 30%.

"That Scaled Lungfish is powerful, very powerful. I think it did not use even 60% of its strength to fight the abyssal."

Emrys was speculating, but he didn’t realize how accurate his guess was. The Scaled Lungfish hadn’t even used 60% of its full strength. During its battle with the abyssal, it employed only a few abilities targeting the physical body and energy. As for the soul, it had only used one soul-targeting skill from its arsenal.

There were still several Soul Skills the creature hadn’t utilized. Most importantly, its physical body was incredibly strong. It had dominated the abyssal throughout the fight underwater, relying solely on its physical prowess.

Emrys believed that he was not the Scaled Lungfish’s match, at least not now. That’s why, he chose to retreat.

In the words of intelligent beings, this was a tactical withdrawal.

Emrys will be back once he is sure he can defeat the Scaled Lungfish.
