Chapter 159: Ch 159: Ultimate Stage High-tier Abyssal

Chapter 159: Ch 159: Ultimate Stage High-tier Abyssal

Emrys followed the man cloaked in black clothes secretly. His attire gave him a mysterious appearance.

Although Emrys was not sure about the identity of this mysterious individual, he was sure that this person was not a human. In fact, the aura on this person’s body caused Emrys to have a sense of familiarity for some unknown reason.

In the end, the aura was very faint which made it impossible for Emrys to recall what kind of familiar aura it was.

Half an hour later, the mysterious person stopped all of a sudden and started to look at his surroundings carefully. Once confirming that no one was on their trail, he took off the black cloak and revealed his appearance.

"What the f*ck!"

Emrys was surprised. He was sure he had never seen this individual before, but he still felt kind of familiar with the aura on his body.

Just as he had thought, this person was not a human. His entire body was dark. Black scales could be seen in several places on his body. There were not too many scales, but there were not too few either.

Most importantly, this person’s eyes were completely red.

A memory suddenly surged within his mind. This memory belonged to the foreign soul he fused with.

"A Mid-tier Abyssal."

Emrys was astonished to find out that this person was actually an Abyssal. It is no wonder he found the aura on its body familiar. After all, due to the fusion with the foreign soul and his second Soul Mark, Emrys had also obtained the attribute of Abyss.

According to the memories, the weakest kind of Abyssals were divided into three types; Low-tier, Mid-tier, and High-tier Abyssals. Every tier was further divided into four stages; Minor Stage, Major Stage, Supreme Stage, and Ultimate Stage.

If every tier and its stages are counted, then there’ll be a total of twelve levels, equivalent to the Cosmic Cultivation System’s Twelve Steps of Foundation Building.

Due to those memories, Emrys immediately understood that the Abyssal in front of him was an Ultimate Stage Mid-tier Abyssal. His strength was equivalent to an Eighth Step Warrior.

"Damn! I’ve just entered the border and already crossed paths with an Abyssal this powerful." Emrys took a deep breath and calmed down.

After taking off his black attire, the mysterious man threw it aside and suddenly started running. He increased his speed by at least three times as he headed in a certain direction.

Emrys also increased his speed and kept following the Abyssal. He wanted to see what this Abyssal wanted to do.

The two of them didn’t fly in the air. The forest was home to many powerful creatures, and flying would make them an obvious target. They would get attacked easily. This was mainly true for Emrys who was unaware of the dangers lurking inside the border.

Along the way, Emrys suddenly realized that the abyssal wasn’t just randomly moving about. He seemed to have a motive. He was heading to a specific location. This caught his curiosity.

"Roar!"

Suddenly, an enormous Seventh Step Beast covered with scales pounced on the abyssal. It opened its bloody mouth in an attempt to swallow him whole.

"Go away!"

The ultimate stage High-tier Abyssal scoffed and punched his fist out. His punch carried an eerie aura as it collided against the head of the beast, causing the beast’s head to explode into pieces. Just like that, the ultimate stage High-tier Abyssal killed a Seventh Step Beast instantly.

The abyssal didn’t look at the corpse and continued to move forward.

"He is powerful!"

Emrys muttered silently in his heart. This Abyssal was indeed powerful. Truth be told, if he were to fight this Abyssal, Emrys knew he had to struggle a bit before defeating him.

The two of them did not stop. They continued to move forward. Since this was Emrys’s first time inside the border, he knew nothing about the terrains or dangers here. He would have roamed randomly to find the Sunfire Heartseed anyway, so following this Abyssal to go to a specific location was not bad at all.

During the journey, powerful Seventh Step and even Eighth Step creatures appeared occasionally. The ultimate stage High-tier Abyssal purposely evaded the powerful beasts, but he still met some of them. When he did, he would kill them.

Emrys stayed behind him and happily followed the Abyssal as it continued to clear the way ahead. The only pity was that Emrys was unable to obtain any benefit from the beasts since he was not the one to kill them.

Otherwise, who knows he might have even advanced another step, becoming a Ninth Step Warrior.

The ultimate stage High-tier Abyssal was heading deeper into the forest, so the creatures he met were all formidable.

As the abyssal was walking, a giant python pounced on him.

The abyssal reacted immediately and attacked as well.

"Boom!" "Boom!" "Boom!"

Not long after, the giant python hissed in agony. Its gigantic body squirmed and struggled on the ground for a while before it stopped breathing.

The ultimate stage High-tier Abyssal was also panting in the air. It had been an arduous journey for him. He was only an ultimate stage High-tier Abyssal, equivalent to an Eighth Step Warrior. Although these beasts were unable to hurt him heavily, it was still exhausting to fight them again and again all the time.

Nonetheless, he had to do this to get close to his targeted place.

The abyssal looked at his surroundings once again, observing it carefully to see if someone was following him or not. He was very cautious. Only after confirming again that no one was following him, he once again started to walk ahead. It seemed time was tight for him, so he did not dawdle anymore.

Just like that, another day passed. During the entire day, Emrys did nothing other than follow the abyssal from the shadows. He maintained a distance of about 1000 meters between him and the abyssal. Most importantly, he kept his aura in check, not letting it leak from his body.

Since the path ahead was already being cleared by the Abyssal, no creature disturbed him along the way. This made it easy for Emrys to not be discovered by the Abyssal.
