Chapter 138: Ch 138: The Mysterious Holy Light

Chapter 138: Ch 138: The Mysterious Holy Light

The black figure’s demeanor shifted dramatically all of a sudden. His earlier patience vanished, replaced by a cold, determined resolve. "Enough of everything. It is time to give up your body, boy!"

He did not appear to be in the mood to explain anything anymore.

Without waiting for a response, the black figure’s black and white body started to mix together. His shape blurred, and he condensed into a ray of light. This ray of light then shot straight toward Emrys, entering his body in an instant.

Emrys was startled at first and wanted to dodge, however, his speed was nowhere near enough to avoid the ray of light. As the ray of light entered his body, he felt an intense pressure inside his head all of a sudden, as if his very mind was being invaded.

Something seemed to have been stirred within Emrys’s soul. Emrys sensed an extra space condensing between the two rivers inside his Sea of Consciousness. Very soon, a vast, dream-like space filled with swirling mist and shifting colors formed.

Emrys was not sure but he still guessed that the Multicolored Orb, which is also called the Soulforge Prism Orb, must have sensed an incoming danger and reacted automatically, creating this dream-like space out of nowhere. This space appeared to be vast and without end, however, Emrys could feel that if one continues going deeper within this space, it’ll lead directly to his true self, that is his soul.

Emrys simply could not understand the functions of Soulforge Prism Orb and what it is capable of doing. He knows only as much as he was given information by the Soulforge Prism Orb itself.

The instant the dream-like space formed, the ray of light appeared inside it. The black figure’s presence was powerful, oppressive, and malevolent. He did not sense anything suspicious and reverted back to his previous form. After that, he first looked around the misty space and tried to sense something.

As if getting something, he started to laugh and then moved through this dream-like space with purpose, heading straight for the center where Emrys’s true self, his very essence, his soul, resided.

Emrys felt a rising panic in his heart. He had no idea what the Soulforge Prism Orb created this space for, or why this space directly leads to his soul. What would happen if the black figure managed to reach his soul?

With every passing second, his thoughts started becoming muddled.

"Damn it!"

Emrys cursed loudly and sat down on the spot. Then he started to circulate the Sacred Soul Purification Technique, stirring his Soul River and the Dark River.

"Hmph!" The black figure sensed the stir within Emrys’s sea of consciousness. He could tell that Emrys was trying to force his entire strength on him. He snorted coldly and said, "All your resistance is futile. Why not give up silently!"

With that said, he suddenly punched out, causing ripples to sweep over in the dream-like space. Although this space was separated from Emrys’s Soul River and Dark River, it was still connected to his own soul.

As the black figure attacked, Emrys felt a weird sensation. At the same time, he had a feeling that if the black figure continued to attack him, he might end up losing control. He wished the black figure would stop attacking.

Unfortunately, Emrys’s action of trying to resist his invasion made the black figure determined to get rid of him completely as soon as possible. That is why, he did not stop and continued to attack one after another.

Emrys’s mind started to get muddled under the black figure’s assault. The sensation of losing control, of being pushed out of his own mind, was terrifying. He struggled to gather his thoughts, to mount any kind of defense against the invasion.

The black figure, sensing Emrys’s panic, laughed coldly. He said, "Struggle all you want, you won’t escape your fate. Your fate is sealed. You have to die here. And then, your body will be mine!"

His voice echoed ominously within Emrys’s mind, causing his heart to beat loudly. Emrys’s body trembled and a dangerous feeling rose within his heart.

As the black figure neared the core of the dream-like space, a sudden and unexpected event occurred. A brilliant light, unlike anything Emrys had ever seen, erupted from deep within this space. This light was pure, radiant, and warm. It illuminated every corner of his dream-like misty space, driving away the oppressive darkness brought by the black figure.

The black figure recoiled in shock. He could not help but look at the light that suddenly erupted within this misty space. As an ancient expert, he could tell that this brilliant light was actually a sacred light, a holy aura, that erupted from Emrys’s soul itself.

"Impossible! How could this be?" The black figure exclaimed, his voice now tinged with fear and disbelief. The light grew brighter, escaping the dream-like space swirling with mist and shifting colors, and enveloped the entire sea of consciousness. It was as if a powerful force, dormant within Emrys all this time, had awakened in response to the black figure’s intrusion.

Emrys abruptly felt a surge of strength and clarity. The fear that had gripped him moments ago dissipated instantly, replaced by a sense of tranquilness.

"This... What just happened?"

Although Emrys’s mind had become muddled for a short while, he was completely aware of every situation that occurred within his Sea of Consciousness. His mind was off-balance for a moment before everything cleared up. He understood the situation well and then focused on the light that was growing stronger and stronger.

The black figure, now fully engulfed by the light, screamed in rage and terror. His form began to waver and distort.

"This is impossible! How can this be? It can’t be happening, not now!" He shouted desperately, but the sacred light did not relent. It continued to shine with unwavering intensity, erasing every trace of the black figure’s presence from Emrys’s Sea of Consciousness.

The black figure’s existence was erased completely. It was as if he never existed to begin with.
