Although the idea was daunting and confusing, Emrys understood that this was his only chance to break free from the Curse of Echoing Silence.

However, there is a huge difference between understanding something and accepting something.

This is a ridiculous situation. How can he accept it?

Handing over his body to someone else indirectly means giving his own life to someone else to live.

How it would feel to be trapped and waiting. The uncertainty of his future made his heart heavy, and tears of frustration welled up in his eyes.

Why did this have to happen to him?

Who exactly cursed him?

He felt a burning bitterness in his chest, angry at the unfairness of it all.

Anxiety gnawed at him, making him feel small and insignificant.

When he thought of the other soul, he even wondered what this other soul would be like.

Despite all these negative emotions, there was a tiny spark of hope. Deep down, Emrys knew this was his only chance to break free from the curse. If he doesn’t cling to that hope, he will never be able to overcome the curse.

"What should I do?"

This question was not directed at Ling Xiaolong, instead, Emrys was asking this question to himself.

Yet, the alternative was just as bleak and dark.

Without accepting Ling Xiaolong’s suggestion, he would remain powerless, his potential would be forever sealed by the curse. The very essence of who he wanted to become would be out of his reach forever. He would be doomed to a life of mediocrity, unable to fulfill his dreams or protect those he loved.

Emrys felt trapped and torn between two devastating choices. The weight of the decision pressed down on him, making it hard to breathe.

For a moment, he even thought that it would be better if Ling Xiaolong forced a decision on him. That way, he wouldn’t have to bear the burden of choice.

However, it was clear that Ling Xiaolong had no such intention. The decision was his to make. Ling Xiaolong had nothing to do with his decision. His decision and the choice he would make here would decide the direction of his future.

He closed his eyes, trying to calm the storm of emotions swirling within him. He knew that whatever choice he made, it would define his future and the future of those he cared about.

After a very long time, he seemed to have made a decision. However, he was not going to reveal his decision just yet.

Looking at Ling Xiaolong, he said, "You told me that I would become a part of the other soul after the fusion, but would be sealed so that the curse would not spread and affect the other soul. However, even after the fusion of our souls, our consciousness will take a long time to slowly fuse. In other words, even after the fusion, he would still not be me completely. What will happen after the other soul takes over my body?"

Ling Xiaolong could understand what Emrys really wanted to ask. He smiled and replied, "If you are worried about your parents, you do not have anything to worry about.
