Walker Of The Blue Sky

Chapter 107: Ch 107: A Whirlpool of Light

Chapter 107: Ch 107: A Whirlpool of Light

Emrys scanned the surroundings, desperate to find a way out and save both himself and Mu Bailing.

Perhaps due to the darkness, his severe injuries, and the pervasive deathly aura that disoriented him, he couldn’t tell which direction he was sinking. In fact, he appeared to have lost all sense of direction. It felt as if he were falling into a bottomless abyss.

Panic began to set inside Emrys’s heart, but he forced himself to focus. He couldn’t afford to lose hope now.

"Node Shift!"

Emrys decided to execute the origin skill, the Node Shift. He wanted to use the perspective of God to find the correct direction and escape this perilous situation. Unfortunately, he was not lucky this time. Even with the perspective of a God, he was unable to tell the correct direction because the 500-meter radius around him was still filled with dark liquid exuding a deathly aura.

It was terrifying.

Although slow, the deathly aura was affecting Emrys as well. As for Mu Bailing, she appeared to be clinging to life by a fragile thread. Her once vibrant vitality had now been reduced to a faint glimmer.

Emrys shifted with the node and executed Node Shift again.

He used up all his remaining chances to shift with the node, but he was still unable to escape this abyss-like deathly pond. In fact, he didn’t even realize that he was drowning inside a pond.

Finally, after using up the last chance to shift with the node, warm light appeared inside this deathly darkness in front of his sight. It was distant, but it was there.

Emrys focused on it and forced himself to move toward it while grabbing Mu Bailing’s shoulder.

With all the strength he could muster, Emrys propelled himself toward the light with Mu Bailing. This appeared to be a short journey, but it was agonizing. Each movement he made caused pain to shoot through his body, but he still persisted.

As he moved forward, the light grew brighter and brighter. At the same time, he could also feel the deathly aura lessening its grip around him.

"What is that?"

After a while, when he got closer to the warm light, he could vaguely see that it was not the surface he thought it to be, instead, he had reached the bottom. The bottom was covered in a layer of pure white. He did not know what it was nor did he have the strength to be curious about the bottom. All he needed was to get out of the area filled with deathly aura, so he ignored everything and swam towards the bottom once again.

Not long after, Emrys brought Mu Bailing to the bottom.

When he looked at the pure white land, he couldn’t help but tremble. A chill ran down his spine. The sight before him was not just a white landscape but a vast expanse of bones. The ground was covered with pure white bones, forming a land so large that Emrys couldn’t see the end of it.

Emrys couldn’t fathom how many skeletons lay there. It was such a horrifying scene that even an experienced Soul Master who had been on the battlefield for a long time would feel a chill down their spine when they saw it. Not to mention, Emrys was just a young man who was not even twenty years old and had yet to truly see the world.

However, for some reason, the deathly aura here was very low.

"This is..."

Emrys’s eyes narrowed slightly as he felt a chill seep into his bone marrow. The scene before him was incredibly shocking. He couldn’t fathom what kind of catastrophe could have created so many dead bodies. It was terrifying!

Even without counting, he could estimate there were roughly a million skeletons. He hadn’t expected to find such a horrifying place hidden in this area filled with deathly liquid.

Once again, he was reminded of Elysia’s words. Surviving in such a place was indeed very difficult. He realized he had been very lucky from the start. Just that his encounter with those red creatures brought misfortune to him, and this misfortune continued after.

Looking at the skeletal landscape, he guessed that the terrifying deathly aura that filled with liquid must have emanated from these bones. However, the reason why this place had a low deathly aura despite being the source of everything remained unknown.

Another thing Emrys noticed was that the instant he landed on the white landscape made of stacked bones, the water around him disappeared.

Taking a deep breath, he plucked up his courage and stepped on those skeletons to walk while carrying Mu Bailing on his back.

The roles of both of them were reversed.

Curiosity urged him to move forward. He quickly walked forward but an endless deathly aura gathered in front of him all of a sudden that shocked Emrys.

The deathly aura at this place was very low, so the sudden appearance of so much deathly aura was indeed frightening. It was like giving someone hope before mercilessly plunging them into despair.

At the same time, Emrys seemed to have heard an earth-shaking roar. It was an incomparably shrill sound that could give people a creepy feeling.

Emrys stopped. He looked at the deathly aura in front of him that was like a huge dark spot in this land of white. Shockingly, the deathly aura was still gathering.

In a very short period, the deathly aura had reached a shocking level. Emrys felt that even if a powerful Purple Crystal Soul Master who went through all twelve steps was here, they still would not have been able to resist the attack of this boundless deathly aura.

Not to mention neither he nor Mu Bailing are very strong. He was heavily injured as well.

The deathly aura suddenly swarmed over and covered his body. In order to save Mu Bailing, he threw her to some distance. After that, he didn’t have the opportunity to see what happened to her. All he could feel now was that his consciousness had begun to blur.

"Am I going to die?" Emrys muttered subconsciously. He realized this situation was a result of his arrogance. Had he not acted that way, none of this would have happened.

But what could he do now?

At that time, he had not been in control of himself. The dark sphere which was full of negative emotions and dark Soul Force had influenced him greatly.

His consciousness soon became very blurry.

Just as Emrys’s consciousness was about to collapse, he heard a strange sound deep within him and subconsciously opened his eyes.

To his surprise, he discovered that his body was covered by a strong halo. Moreover, this halo also carried a bit of a sacred aura.

"What is this halo?"

Emrys could not be more shocked. This halo appeared on his body. He also sensed that it originated from deep inside him. But he could not tell how it appeared.

Is this also the doing of Multicolored Orb?

Emrys could only think of the Multicolored Orb in this situation. Every unexplainable thing about him seemed to be related to the Multicolored Orb in one way or another. This halo exuding a sacred aura was likely connected to the Multicolored Orb as well.

While he was still pondering this, he noticed that his injuries had started to heal at an astonishing speed. The speed of his recovery was truly too fast, enough to make anyone’s eye open widely in astonishment.

The most shocking thing was a small mass of light that rose from his body. This mass of light suspended in the air and began rotating as if it was brewing something. Gradually, it formed a whirlpool of light.

At the same time, the deathly aura surrounding his body started to spin crazily within the whirlpool of light.

"Buzz!" "Buzz!"

In the next moment, a strange sound echoed from the whirlpool of light. A terrifying suction force was released from it. Not just the deathly aura surrounding him, but even the deathly aura contained in the pond above him began rushing into the whirlpool. Emrys became the central point of this incredible phenomenon, which was an extremely shocking sight to behold.

Seeing this, Emrys was deeply shocked. He didn’t know what kind of existence the Multicolored Orb was, but it had caused the small mass of light to appear from his body and form a whirlpool that absorbed the deathly aura from both around and above him which was really too terrifying.

The deathly aura kept rushing towards the whirlpool of light from all directions. It was being devoured and absorbed by the whirlpool rapidly. The entire pond appeared to be covered by this incredible suction force. For a moment, Emrys even felt as if the land beneath his feet had started to shake.

The light that was released from the whirlpool of light was getting stronger and stronger. That suction force was also irresistible. It was like a divine pit that could never be filled. It was constantly absorbing the deathly energy, and all the deathly energy was going to be devoured by it.

Most importantly, this suction force seems to only affect the deathly aura, not him or the bones below his feet.
