Chapter 138 -: 137 Killing the protagonist.[2]
Chapter 138 -: 137 Killing the protagonist.[2]
Both Crypian and Alia’s eyes widened like dinner plates.
Their faces turned paper-white in a second. Pure fear crawled up their spines and froze their bodies.
Their legs refused to move even an inch. Their knees shook like cheap plastic toys in the wind.
"Is this how my pathetic life ends...?" Crypian thought.
His brain had completely shut down.
He could not think, he could not run, and he definitely could not block the coming attack.
The scene in front of him was enough to make anyone wet their pants.
Julius had appeared right in front of them out of nowhere.
His black mask glowed darkly, and the eye sockets burned with a cold golden light.
He looked like death wearing a fancy costume.
In both his hands, he held a giant axe.
The axe was massive, bigger than a grown man’s body.
Its sharp blade gleamed under the light, hungry for blood.
One clean swing and it could cut Crypian and Alia into two bloody pieces like slicing butter.
"Die!!!" Julius roared with a cheerful, mocking voice.
He brought the huge axe down hard, aiming straight for their waists.
When Julius first came to this world, his stupid plan was to let Crypian grow stronger and build a big harem like a proper protagonist.
But as days passed and his head cleared up, he understood one simple truth: killing Crypian was almost impossible as long as that annoying System protected him.
Today, for some strange reason, the System was silent.
No blue screens, no cheats, nothing. This was the perfect chance.
"I will kill you for sure this time, you walking plot armor," Julius thought with a nasty grin under his mask.
Crypian stood there frozen like a statue as the giant axe rushed toward him.
At the last moment, his eyes flicked to Alia. She was also stuck in place, face pale, body trembling.
"Fuck!" Crypian cursed inside his head.
With whatever courage he had left, he grabbed Alia roughly and pulled her behind him.
He turned his own body to shield her. At least she wouldn’t die first.
"System! System, please wake up!" he begged desperately in his mind.
"Invincible! Invincible! Invincible!"
He kept muttering the word like a broken record, hoping the skill would activate and give him one minute of immortality.
But nothing happened.
No golden light, no protective shield, no voice saying "Skill activated." The System stayed completely dead.
The axe kept coming closer.
The sharp edge was now only inches away from cutting them both in half.
"Master!!!!" the Love Guardian shouted from a little distance away.
His voice was full of pure horror.
He saw the giant axe and his two new masters about to become chopped meat.
Without wasting even a second, the giant armored man rushed forward like a speeding truck to save them.
But right at that moment....
"Too late!"
Rosalina’s segmented sword shot past him like a silver snake.
The deadly metal pieces twisted in the air and wrapped tightly around the Love Guardian’s thick waist.
The sword squeezed hard, locking him in place.
The Love Guardian’s eyes widened behind his helmet. He tried to break free, but the sword held him like iron chains.
"Nice try, Pimp Guardian," Rosalina said with a loud, sarcastic laugh.
"But you’re not going anywhere. Just stand there and watch your precious masters get turned into minced meat. It’s going to be a beautiful sight!"
She stood there casually, one hand controlling the sword that trapped the Love Guardian, the other on her hip.
Her masked face tilted slightly as if she was enjoying a fun show.
Julius’s axe was now only a breath away from Crypian and Alia.
The air itself seemed to scream as the heavy blade fell.
Crypian closed his eyes tight. Alia buried her face into his back.
Both of them waited for the sharp pain that would end everything.
Seeing that his two new masters were about to become chopped meat, the Love Guardian let out a loud roar of defiance.
"You won’t succeed!!!" he roared at the top of his lungs.
He grabbed Rosalina’s segmented sword with both massive hands and ripped it apart with raw strength.
Rip! The metal pieces snapped and flew everywhere like broken toys.
Without wasting a second, he charged forward like a runaway train to save Crypian and Alia.
Rosalina’s eyes widened in shock for a moment.
Then she quickly pulled herself together and rushed after him.
"No, you won’t!" she shouted, chasing right behind the giant armored man.
But right at that instant, her eyes landed on Julius. She stopped chasing. A small smirk appeared under her mask.
"They are dead!" she said calmly, folding her arms as she watched the show.
Julius’s giant axe was now just one inch away from Crypian and Alia.
In the next second, it would cut them clean in two like a hot knife through butter.
"No!!!!!!!!" the Love Guardian also realized what was happening.
He roared in grief and horror. The axe was about to cleave them...
But right at that exact moment....
"Creak...!"
A strange sound came from the ceiling.
In the next instant, a huge chunk of debris broke off and fell straight down.
"Boom!!"
The giant piece of stone and wood smashed right onto Julius.
The heavy axe slipped from his hands and clattered to the ground.
Julius almost got crushed into a bloody meat paste under the massive weight.
Everyone froze on the spot.
The Love Guardian stared at the pile of debris with wide eyes full of disbelief.
His armored body started to tremble.
The axe had been only a tiny fraction of a second away from killing his masters.
And then... this happened.
"This... this is Heavenly Love!!!" he shouted. His voice shook at first, but then it filled with pure joy and excitement.
"Heaven has accepted them as the most pure love! The gods themselves are protecting this beautiful bond!"
While the Love Guardian was busy bullshitting with his happy nonsense, Rosalina’s eyes widened the moment she saw the debris.
A cold chill ran down her spine. She hurried over and stopped a few steps away.
"Babe, are you okay...?" she asked. Her voice sounded anxious and worried.
Julius was still trapped under the large chunk of debris.
He gave a bitter chuckle from underneath.
"What do you think?" he asked in a tired, sarcastic voice.
Rosalina quickly grabbed the edge of the heavy debris and muttered, "Infinite Cast: Super Strength!"
The moment the words left her mouth, a bright glow appeared around her muscles.
With that extra power, she easily lifted the huge chunk of stone and wood like it was a small box.
As soon as she moved the debris aside, she saw Julius lying there.
For a split second, she noticed a round shield, like Captain America’s, covering his body.
But Julius instantly made the shield disappear before anyone else could see it.
Rosalina let out a big sigh of relief. "Thank god he is fine," she muttered to herself.
She threw the debris to the side with a loud crash and instantly knelt down beside him.
Her hands moved quickly, checking his body for any injuries.
’It’s good he already used Magic Arsenal,’ she thought, looking at him with soft eyes.
"Plot armour strikes again..." Julius gave a bitter smile as he looked up at her.
Before they came here, they both knew it wouldn’t be easy to kill Crypian.
After all, he was the protagonist. All the luck in the world belonged to that guy.
And that was exactly what happened here.
That huge chunk of debris normally would have taken a few seconds to fall.
Where the hell did it even come from? It appeared out of nowhere and crushed him at the perfect moment.
If Julius had not been ready with his shield, his life would have been crushed along with his body.
"I didn’t think it would be this powerful..." Rosalina sighed again.
She gently helped Julius sit up.
"Something like this... it really feels like we are fighting and trying to kill an immortal god."
