Chapter 442 442: Many Are Wounded

In an instant, the Shadow Guard's voice emerged as his longsword chopped down toward Nameless in Lin Kuang's grasp.

"I've said it before, sneak attacks like this are useless against me," Lin Kuang said coolly, before kicking out like lightning and viciously aiming for the Shadow Guard's abdomen.

At that moment, the Shadow Guard's figure vanished again, and Lin Kuang's kick struck empty air. As he lashed out, Lin Kuang kept his eyes fixed on the Shadow Guard, refusing to believe the man could simply disappear. There had to be a secret.

This time, Lin Kuang saw it. Just before disappearing, the Shadow Guard's left hand abruptly clenched into a fist! His intuition told him the secret had to be in that left hand. Otherwise, why would he clench his fist? There was no reason for it.

The Shadow Guard didn't reply. His figure had vanished completely, leaving no trace of his whereabouts. Lin Kuang grew annoyed. This Shadow Guard was truly stubborn. He had already told him it was useless, so why was he still dragging this out?

Just then, Lin Kuang's body jerked to the side as the Shadow Guard's longsword whistled past his face. The attacker remained invisible, his strike silent and sudden. Lin Kuang fiercely slashed out with Nameless, targeting the Shadow Guard's sword arm. Seeing this, the Shadow Guard instantly withdrew his arm, evading the strike. Lin Kuang, however, didn't stop his assault. He pressed forward, his left fist thundering toward the Shadow Guard's chest with a surge of immense power. The Shadow Guard countered, meeting Lin Kuang's attack with a punch of his own.

With the muffled impact of their fists colliding, both Lin Kuang and the Shadow Guard were sent staggering back. This time, the Shadow Guard didn't wait. He immediately lunged forward, brandishing his longsword and chopping down toward Lin Kuang's head with full force.

Sensing the rush of air above him, Lin Kuang knew the attack was coming. His body swiftly tilted to the side as he whipped Nameless out in a fierce thrust aimed straight at the Shadow Guard's heart. The Shadow Guard was just as quick, his body shifting sideways to dodge the attack. Simultaneously, he swung his longsword again in a horizontal slash targeting Lin Kuang's neck.

Lin Kuang's expression grew tense as he abruptly swung Nameless to meet the attack. Carrying immense force, Nameless slashed down hard on the longsword.

CLANG!

To Lin Kuang's surprise, Nameless became embedded in the longsword. He had intended to shatter the weapon, but this outcome was completely unexpected. Time waits for no one, and the battle-hardened Lin Kuang wasn't foolish enough to waste it. He struck out suddenly, his fist smashing toward the Shadow Guard's head as if he wanted to shatter his skull.

However, the Shadow Guard was a master in his own right. As Lin Kuang's fist descended, he swiftly brought up his left palm to block his face.

Lin Kuang's fist smashed hard into the Shadow Guard's palm. Both men were forced back, but with their weapons locked together, they tugged on them while their free hands struck out repeatedly in a flurry of blows. In the midst of the exchange, the Shadow Guard suddenly exerted his strength, and the longsword in his hand snapped.

The sudden turn of events caught the attacking Lin Kuang completely by surprise. In that instant, the two-inch shard of the blade still in the Shadow Guard's hand sliced viciously across Lin Kuang's left arm. A deep wound immediately appeared, and blood gushed out.

Lin Kuang's expression changed. Enduring the searing pain, he grabbed the wrist of the hand holding the broken blade. Then, with a burst of power, he bent slightly at the waist, used the man's arm for leverage, and slammed him fiercely to the ground.

Immediately after the sparks flew, the Shadow Guard's body suddenly became visible.

What's going on? Some kind of high-tech stealth suit? Lin Kuang wondered.

The Shadow Guard's pupils now burned with murderous rage. He lashed out with his legs, kicking Lin Kuang square in the ribs and sending him flying.

Lin Kuang's body crashed onto the lawn. He grimaced in pain. The kick had broken at least three or four of his ribs.

The Shadow Guard grabbed Nameless and yanked it out of his own chest as blood gushed from the wound. Staggering to his feet, he gripped the blade and charged straight at Lin Kuang.

Seeing this, Lin Kuang scrambled up from the ground, wiping the blood from the corner of his mouth as murderous intent flared in his eyes.

"Damn you!" Lin Kuang roared. "It's been a long time since I've been wounded this badly. I'll make you pay!"

The Shadow Guard remained silent, gripping Nameless and thrusting it viciously at Lin Kuang's head. Lin Kuang just stood there as if stunned, seemingly forgetting to even dodge.

Seeing this, Yao Wenwen cried out, "You idiot, dodge!" As she spoke, she launched herself forward. Of the four women present, she was the only one who could help Lin Kuang.

But Lin Kuang seemed not to have heard her, his gaze locked quietly onto the Shadow Guard's pupils. The tip of the blade was about to pierce the point between Lin Kuang's eyebrows. In that instant, terror seized everyone watching.
