Unrivaled Soldier in the City

Chapter 437 437: That Monkey

Chapter 437 437: That Monkey

Lin Kuang just smiled nonchalantly. These small-time thugs were no match for him at all; dealing with them was far too easy.

Lin Kuang was unconcerned, but Hou Mingshi was scared witless.

Damn it, more than a dozen men… taken out just like that? And so quickly? How long did that even take? Less than ten seconds!

Thinking of this, Hou Mingshi couldn't help but swallow hard. This is no time for Martial Power. I need to use my brain.

With that thought, Hou Mingshi forced himself to calm down.

"Kid, you're in big trouble now!"

Hou Mingshi sneered. Thinking about his background, he suddenly puffed out his chest, acting as if he was the greatest in the world.

Seeing this, Lin Kuang looked at Hou Mingshi with resignation. Idiots are a dime a dozen, but there's a bumper crop this year. Hou Mingshi seems pretty smart, so why is he acting like such a moron right now?

"Ahem, big trouble? And what kind of trouble might that be?" Lin Kuang asked with a smile.

"You attacked my men! You're dead!" Hou Mingshi snarled, his expression ugly as he pulled a cell phone from his pocket.

Watching him, Lin Kuang asked curiously, "And how exactly do you plan on killing me? I'm actually quite eager to see it."

"Don't you worry. You'll be dead soon enough." Thinking this, Hou Mingshi dialed a number.

As soon as the call connected, Hou Mingshi's expression became respectful.

"Uncle Song, it's Hou Mingshi. I've run into a bit of trouble at your Red Dust Clubhouse. I was hoping you could help."

Hou Mingshi's tone was deeply reverent. This "Uncle Song" was an even more formidable figure than his own father and was considered a major player in Yanjing.

"Oh? Something you can't handle yourself?" Song Anran asked indifferently.

"Yes, this person is very strong," Hou Mingshi quickly replied.

"Alright, wait for me there. I happen to be heading to the clubhouse now," Song Anran said before hanging up.

Given Song Anran's status, even Hou Mingshi's father had to treat him with the utmost respect. Such a minor matter didn't normally require Song Anran to get involved personally. However, since he was already on his way and Hou Mingshi's father was always respectful toward him, he decided to come and take a look himself.

A smile immediately spread across Hou Mingshi's face when he heard Song Anran's reply. He had assumed Song Anran would just send someone and never expected him to come in person. This was incredibly exciting news.

"Kid, just you wait! You're finished!" Hou Mingshi said excitedly, his eyes filled with an air of superiority.

Lin Kuang simply nodded. "Alright then, I'll wait right here."

Lin Kuang said with a smile, pulling Lin Guo'er down to sit beside him. They began chatting casually, completely ignoring Hou Mingshi.

Seeing this, Hou Mingshi's expression turned even uglier, and his gaze filled with venomous resentment.

Go on and act smug. Just you wait. Your doom is just around the corner, Hou Mingshi seethed internally.

"Hey, are you sure this will be okay?" Lin Guo'er asked, still worried despite Lin Kuang's calm composure.

"Hmm, we should be fine. But if there is trouble, you're the one who dragged me here. I'll leave it to you to handle," Lin Kuang said with a grin.

"You bastard! Can't you be serious for once?" Lin Guo'er retorted, exasperated.

"Ahem, I am being serious," Lin Kuang said with a smirk, his gaze landing on Xu Yingying and Yao Wenwen. "Even if I can't handle it, we still have Yingying. Besides, Yao Wenwen's background isn't simple. They can handle this, right?"

Xu Yingying rolled her eyes at Lin Kuang good-naturedly. "I can't be bothered to help you."

"Me neither," Yao Wenwen huffed. "I'd love to see you get a good thrashing. Then I could just take your Nameless for myself."

Hearing this, Lin Kuang shrugged with a look of mock grievance. "You're all so heartless. So cold. You're breaking my heart."

"Oh, stop putting on an act," Xu Yingying said in exasperation. "Besides a very small number of people, who would dare mess with you? And could those people even come to East Sea? Even if they did, would they actually do anything to you? This grown-up Lin Kuang is getting more and more mischievous."

"Ahem, Yingying, you can't say that. I'm terrified whenever Uncle Xu shows up. He spanked my butt plenty of times when I was a kid. You saw it yourself!" Lin Kuang said, feigning grievance.

At his words, Xu Yingying's pretty face turned red. "Th-that was when we were kids! Children don't know any better. It's not like I'm watching now!" she said, annoyed, shooting him a glare.

Yao Wenwen giggled. "Yingying, are you saying you still want to watch now?" she teased.

Hearing this, Xu Yingying's face flushed crimson as she glared fiercely at Yao Wenwen. "There you go, showing your true Demoness nature again!"

"Ahem, if Yingying wants a show, I don't mind making a small sacrifice. It's no big deal if you take a little advantage of me," Lin Kuang piped up, a hint of embarrassment in his voice.

"You little bastard, shut up!" Xu Yingying snapped, glaring daggers at him.

Seeing this, Yao Wenwen and Lin Guo'er started giggling, making Xu Yingying even more mortified, though the thick-skinned Lin Kuang didn't seem to care one bit.

The four of them continued to chat happily. Meanwhile, Hou Mingshi was practically fuming, his eyes glaring daggers at Lin Kuang. If looks could kill, Lin Kuang would have already been sliced into a thousand pieces.

Keep showing off! Keep showing off! Just you wait, I'll make you pay! Hou Mingshi roared inwardly.

"Ahem, hey, Hou... what was it again? Oh, right. Monkey. Aren't your reinforcements here yet?" Lin Kuang suddenly called out.

"You... Don't get arrogant! They'll be here any minute! And my name is Hou Mingshi!" he said through gritted teeth, his expression hideous. Fortunately, the floor was shrouded in darkness, lit only by the light near Lin Kuang's group. Otherwise, everyone would have seen the comically furious look on his face.

"Hmm. In that case, I'll wait a little longer," Lin Kuang said calmly.

Just as Lin Kuang finished speaking, a deep and authoritative voice echoed across the floor. "Lights."

As the word was spoken, the lights on the entire floor blazed to life, bright as day. The sudden glare was blinding.

Hou Mingshi shot to his feet, his face filled with joy. He was beyond familiar with that voice—it was Song Anran's!

With that thought, Hou Mingshi shot Lin Kuang a vicious glare that clearly screamed, "You're doomed!" before quickly making his way toward Song Anran.

"Uncle Song, good evening! Thank you for coming!" Hou Mingshi said, bowing deeply as he reached Song Anran, his voice a mixture of respect and excitement.
