Chapter 418 418 All Resolved
Chapter 418 418 All Resolved
Seeing this, Lin Kuang sneered in disdain. Such people were truly pathetic, no better than ordinary folk. If this guy hadn't been smart, cunning, and well-connected, he would have been finished long ago. With that thought, he dragged Chu Zhongtian straight outside, completely indifferent to the stares of others.
When the crowd saw that the person Lin Kuang was dragging was Chu Zhongtian, they were utterly terrified. That was Chu Zhongtian, a major figure in East Sea with an incredibly deep background in Yanjing. Yet here he was, being dragged out like a dead dog. It was a horrifying spectacle.
The club's security guards, in particular, rushed over without a second thought. Chu Zhongtian was their boss. If they could rescue him, they would be set for life. Who would pass up such an opportunity? However, they had completely lost their heads. Could an ordinary person just take Chu Zhongtian away so easily? The answer, of course, was no. These security guards were in for a world of hurt.
Lin Kuang struck like lightning, taking down all twenty-odd security guards with just one hand. After all, the gap between their abilities was immense. Their strength wasn't even on the same plane of existence. Some people quickly called the police, hoping they would intervene, but it was all in vain.
Stepping out of the Xiangya Club, Lin Kuang tossed the unconscious Chu Zhongtian into the passenger seat and drove off. It wasn't even 8:00 PM yet, as Lin Kuang hadn't been there long.
While driving, Lin Kuang called Zhang Lianmei's cell phone again.
When she answered, Lin Kuang said with a laugh, "Lianmei, make your move. Capture all the senior members and direct descendants of the Han Family and send them to the East Sea Military Region. I'll wait for you there."
"Alright, I'll get my people on it right away."
After Zhang Lianmei agreed, they both hung up.
Lin Kuang drove straight to the East Sea Military Region. The soldiers on duty recognized him and let him through immediately without any inspection.
Meanwhile, Yang Wucheng had not left. He knew Lin Kuang would be bringing Chu Zhongtian over tonight, so he had been waiting. As soon as Lin Kuang arrived, Yang Wucheng received the news and stepped out of his office just as Lin Kuang dragged Chu Zhongtian before him.
"Uncle Yang," Lin Kuang greeted with a smile.
"Hm, you brought the kid?" Yang Wucheng replied with a smile of his own.
"Yes, but a few more people will be arriving later. They're from East Sea's Han Family and are in cahoots with Chu Zhongtian. I don't trust the police station with them, so I'd rather leave them with you," Lin Kuang explained.
"No problem. Come on, let's throw this kid in the interrogation room," Yang Wucheng said cheerfully.
Lin Kuang nodded with a grin. He dragged Chu Zhongtian to an interrogation room and tied him to a chair. With that done, Lin Kuang and Yang Wucheng started chatting.
"Kid, you've performed a great service this time. The higher-ups are rewarding you and will likely promote you to Senior Colonel. That will make you the youngest Senior Colonel in history. Congratulations, kid," Yang Wucheng said, clapping Lin Kuang on the shoulder with a laugh.
Lin Kuang nodded and smiled. "Honestly, I don't care much about military rank. My duty is to serve the country, because I am a soldier." As he spoke, his tone grew serious.
Yang Wucheng was taken aback for a moment, then burst into hearty laughter. "Good, good, well said! That's a good kid! I love that spirit. That's right, we are soldiers. Doing what we must is the greatest contribution to our motherland."
Lin Kuang smiled as well. For a soldier, defending the motherland and protecting its people were fundamental duties. However, when it came to those who deserved to die, Lin Kuang would show no mercy.
They chatted for about twenty minutes before Luo Yu knocked and entered the room.
"Commander," Luo Yu said with a salute, "there are five cars outside. They say they're here to see Instructor Lin."
Yang Wucheng turned his gaze to Lin Kuang. "Kid, your people?"
"Yes, sounds like it. I'll go check," Lin Kuang said with a smile.
"Alright, go ahead," Yang Wucheng nodded.
Lin Kuang left with Luo Yu. A few minutes later, they arrived at the main gate, where Zhang Lianmei was waiting. To be honest, this was her first time at a military base. As the ruler of an underground faction, she really disliked places like this.
"Lianmei, you're here," Lin Kuang greeted her with a smile.
She nodded. "Yes, I've brought everyone. Where should I send them?"
"Have them drive inside," Lin Kuang said.
Zhang Lianmei nodded and instructed her people to enter. Once the convoy was inside, soldiers escorted the members of the Han Family to the interrogation rooms. Their fierce shouts were utterly useless.
After everything was settled, Lin Kuang bid farewell to Yang Wucheng and left the East Sea Military Region with Zhang Lianmei and her people.
"Lianmei, thank you for your trouble. You can all go now," Lin Kuang said to her with a smile.
"Alright, I'll be off then. We'll meet again when we have time," Zhang Lianmei replied, also smiling. In truth, she was reluctant to part and wished she could stay with Lin Kuang a little longer, but she had no reason to.
"Of course. See you next time," Lin Kuang said, waving her off.
After saying goodbye to Zhang Lianmei, it was nearly nine o'clock. Feeling pleased, Lin Kuang drove home. The problems in East Sea were mostly resolved. Yashi Company was now operating legitimately, Ye Tiannan and his ilk had submitted, and the entire underground was now closely tied to him. With Chu Zhongtian taken away, there was basically nothing left in East Sea that could threaten him. A wave of satisfaction washed over him.
"Finally, I can relax a bit," Lin Kuang murmured to himself, his mood excellent.
At 9:20 PM, he arrived back at Lin Guo'er's house. It was still early, so neither of the two women had gone to bed. When Lin Kuang entered the room, both Lin Guo'er and Liu Shilin's eyes fell upon him.
"You heartless man, you're finally back," Lin Guo'er said coquettishly.
"How could I be heartless? I've missed you both to death," Lin Kuang said with a mischievous grin. He swept both women into his arms and kissed their lips.
Instantly, their faces flushed red, and they looked at Lin Kuang shyly.
"You bad guy," Liu Shilin said, her face crimson, but she felt incredibly sweet inside.
