Chapter 411 411: Pei Family Yuandong
Chapter 411 411: Pei Family Yuandong
When Lin Kuang arrived at Yang Ruotong's villa, he found her playing at home with Xinxin, since it was Sunday. The little girl seemed overjoyed, and her happy laughter echoed constantly.
Listening to Xinxin's cheerful giggles put Lin Kuang in a good mood.
As for Inoue Kenta, I won't mention it. The most important thing is that Yang Ruotong and Xinxin are happy; nothing else matters. Besides, if I told her about something like this, she might just overthink it. It's best not to burden her with needless worries.
With that thought, Lin Kuang got out of his car and stepped into the villa's main hall. Seeing him walk in, Yang Ruotong was taken aback for a moment, while Xinxin joyfully ran over to him.
"Hello, Uncle Lin!" the little girl chirped, stretching out her small hands for a hug.
Lin Kuang smiled and reached out, scooping Xinxin into his arms. "You seem very happy today, little one," he said with a laugh, gently pinching her nose.
"Of course! Xinxin is always happy, but I'm even happier when I see you, Uncle Lin!" Xinxin replied with an adorable giggle.
"You little charmer, you always know what to say," Lin Kuang said, laughing at her adorable expression.
Just then, Yang Ruotong turned her gaze to Lin Kuang and asked with a smile, "You haven't eaten yet, have you? Stay for lunch."
Lin Kuang nodded. "No, I haven't."
"Alright, you two play for a bit. I'll go make lunch," Yang Ruotong said with a smile before turning and heading into the kitchen, leaving Lin Kuang to play with Xinxin.
When Yang Ruotong had finished cooking, Lin Kuang brought Xinxin to the table. The three of them sat together and ate quietly, the atmosphere warm and peaceful.
After lunch, Lin Kuang helped Yang Ruotong clear the table. By the time he drove back to Lin Guo'er's villa, it was already afternoon. However, when he arrived, neither Lin Guo'er nor Liu Shilin were home.
"Where did those two run off to?" Lin Kuang muttered, dialing Lin Guo'er's number.
A moment later, she answered. "Darling, you're back?" Lin Guo'er asked, her tone cheerful and slightly seductive.
"Yeah, but I'm stuck at the front door. Can't get in," Lin Kuang said with a sigh of resignation.
"Just a minute! Shilin and I are on our way back. Wait for us, okay?" she said with a laugh, clearly in high spirits.
"Alright, I'll wait," Lin Kuang replied before they both hung up.
Feeling a bit bored, Lin Kuang lit a cigarette and leaned against his car, smoking quietly. Just then, a man in his thirties approached, with the sun at his back. The light cast his shadow long before him. His stride was composed and steadfast, his eyes fixed quietly on Lin Kuang.
As he smoked, Lin Kuang sensed he was being watched. He turned, his gaze falling upon the man. The moment Lin Kuang saw him, his brow furrowed, and a grave look flashed in his eyes. This newcomer was incredibly strong. Lin Kuang remained silent, simply watching the approaching man as he dropped his cigarette to the ground.
A few moments later, the man stopped two meters away.
"Mr. Lin Kuang?" he asked with a smile, his demeanor as relaxed as if he were meeting an old friend.
Lin Kuang smiled and nodded. "That's me. And you are?"
"My name is Pei Yuandong, of the Pei Family," the man replied with a smile, offering a slight fist-and-palm salute.
Lin Kuang's brow furrowed slightly. I'm not familiar with this so-called Pei Family. However, judging by the way Pei Yuandong greeted me with a fist-and-palm salute, it's clearly an ancient custom from the martial world. In this day and age, anyone who still uses such traditional etiquette must be from an Ancient Martial Arts family!
With this realization, Lin Kuang asked with a smile, "Is Mr. Pei from an Ancient Martial Arts family?"
Hearing this, Pei Yuandong remained perfectly composed, as if he had expected Lin Kuang to guess his identity. "Correct. The Pei Family, an Ancient Martial Arts family," he affirmed honestly.
Lin Kuang nodded. "Are you here for Nameless?"
"Precisely. I am here for Nameless," Pei Yuandong confirmed, making no attempt to hide his purpose.
"However, I have no intention of handing Nameless over," Lin Kuang stated coolly, looking right at him.
"If I were in your position, I wouldn't hand it over either," Pei Yuandong said with a smile. "However, I am here on my family's orders. I must take Nameless with me."
Lin Kuang gave a habitual shrug. "I've heard that before. And yet, Nameless is still in my hands."
"Is that so? It seems Mr. Lin is as powerful as the rumors say," Pei Yuandong remarked, "but I will still be taking Nameless. Let's fight. If I win, I take Nameless. If I lose, I am at your disposal." He spoke with a relaxed smile, one born not of contempt, but of absolute confidence—confidence that he could resolve this matter and defeat the man standing before him.
Lin Kuang couldn't help but crack a smile. "Very well. If you win, you take Nameless. If you lose, you're at my disposal. Are you sure about that?"
The smile on Pei Yuandong's face widened. "I am. I will do anything within my power. But that's not something you should be concerned with, because I have never lost." His words, directed at Lin Kuang, radiated immense self-assurance.
Lin Kuang smiled and nodded. "Good. I've never lost either. I hope you can be the one to give me a taste of defeat."
"Fine. I will satisfy your wish," Pei Yuandong said.
Lin Kuang smiled faintly and made a "please" gesture. "We fight on the lawn."
"As you wish," Pei Yuandong replied, stepping onto the grass.
Lin Kuang calmly followed, taking up a position on the lawn. The two men now stood just three meters apart. As soon as they were in position, the very air around them changed. A grim, murderous aura erupted from them both as their gazes locked, the slightest move from one promising to trigger a fierce assault from the other.
They stared at each other, motionless, locked in a silent standoff. Yet, the aura emanating from them grew ever more intense. The grass beneath their feet stirred without a breeze, and a tangible sense of oppression erupted across the villa's grounds.
Pei Yuandong watched Lin Kuang, his expression quiet. A strong desire for battle rose in his heart. He could keenly sense that Lin Kuang was a truly formidable opponent.
